$400 NLHE Tournament with 680 runners. 7 handed, 3 tables left. I butchered this hand and am hoping for input.

I'm in the SB sitting with 220,000 after my SB ante of 15k. Blind and antes are 15k, 30k, 30k.

Villain is an older guy that's limping a lot and looking to buy into cheap flops from pretty much any position. He's sitting on 480k. I shoved on him an orbit ago when he limped in middle position and he folded after short consideration. Twice I've seen him call to see a cheap flop and take it down with a continuation bet when checked to.

Hand folds to villain in MP1, he calls for 30k. Guy next to him calls for 30k (this guy is also trying to see cheap flops, but is much more selective with position and frequency). He has over 600k stack. Folds to me in the SB. I look down at Kh 3c. I really want to fold here to avoid trouble, but there's 135k in the pot and that seems way too juicy to not do something or see if I can follow the trend and see a cheap flop for 15k more. Guy in the BB is pretty passive too and not playing many hands, sitting on 350k.

Should I shove here?

I call for 15k more. BB checks option.

Flop: Ks 7d 2h (150K pot)

I check (I think this is a mistake, right?) Even though I have 13 bigs, and have 3 players ahead, as played, I'm wondering if I should have bet flop with a small sizing, like 35k on this dry board.

BB checks. Villain bets 75k. Folds to me. What do I do now?

I decide to go with it and shove.

I'm confused - if you have 220k at 15/30/30k, you don't have 13bb you have 7bb. Is that a typo or did you miscalculate your stack size?

I wouldn't complete a weak unsuited Kx in this spot because you'll get in a weird situation. Don't shove this flop. You have top pair worst kicker on the dryest board in NFL history and shoving just lets V get away with any air and 7x and call with any K that has you basically drawing dead.

Eh, we have 6.5BB going to the flop facing a 2.5BB bet with top pair. We're committed whether we shove here or just call and then call it off.

This is why K3o is a fold multi-way, or at least I'm pretty sure it is.

Don't bother developing strategies about how to play crappy starting hands. Recognize crappy starting hands and fold them. Develop strategies around playing good starting hands and recognizing good spots to play such hands.

Of course, you will end up playing some crappy starting hands because of the structure of a tournament and need to logic your way through playing one.

So you flop top pair w/second worst kicker, have no fold equity facing a 1/2 pot bet, why did you shove?

The flop's not the problem, we have 6.5BB back in a 5BB pot, we're going with top pair.

Getting to a flop four ways with basically a one-card hand that's easily dominated is the problem.

Yeah, if there are limping recs just wait for a better hand and shove to pick up the dead money. You're in the best possible position to wait it out
