Nice to see nobody agrees with anyone else, then 
The reason I took the line as above is that preflop BB was stealing a fair amount but not otherwise getting too out of line. Meanwhile the SB was playing too many hands and was too aggressive at all times so it seemed like a good opportunity to set up a trap for him. The action after the check raise was...unexpected, but given the stack sizes it seemed to make most sense to call the 2 all ins as next man out ends the tournament.
I will post up the result in a little while for those results driven peeps amongst you.
