Poker Stars $15+$1 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t100/t200 Blinds - 5 players
2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked

BTN: t3025
SB: t1475
BB: t5165
Hero (UTG): t1300
CO: t2535

There is antes (pot = t425)

Pre Flop: Hero is UTG with 5 A
Hero raises to t1275 all in

This hand is difficult.
It's an ICM base question but the result can be very different (depends how we estimate people calling range).

CO: TAG
MJej6: TAG
SB: Good regular (so TAG)
BB: new player, seems to be tag passive

Looks fine, you are preserving your FE by shoving now, after the blinds come through you the big stack is going to start looking you up very wide.

If the ante's have kicked in this is a no-brainer.

I usually don't shove in this kind of spots, I don't like A5s too much, UTG with 4 players to act and a CL BB is not a great spot for my taste. Maybe I'm missing some shoves if I don't shove this?

I think you can afford to take more marginal shoves here as you are about to get hit by the blinds. A hand like A8s would be a no-brainer, and I think A5s is still pretty good here.

I might be folding A7o and below though.

I shove any ace in this spot. They are all tight and you have 6 blinds and an ace so ...

I don't think a shove is horrible by any means, the hand itself (suited ace with a short stack) is fine, but I also think you have to look at whose blind you're shoving. BB is probably going to look you up wide just based on pot odds and the fact that it won't hurt him too much and he can knock out a player, improving everyone's equity, including his own. Based on that, I might wait until a smaller stack is in the blind before shoving.

I shove, 80% of the time, the 20% is when the CL looks like an nit and doesnt know when to fold. Personally I dont want the 60/40 yet.

Easy shove, you should be shoving any ace here unless all of them are calling REALLY wide.
