We need 31%ish equity in ChipEV, curious what others would do in this spot/if I should ever lead jam turn myself for the fold equity, I'll post results later

My thinking was that V often has an overpair or AT/KT/QT in this line
Against overpair we have 15 outs, against Tx we have 18 outs, against better flush draws we have 12 outs
Additionally, if we call and win we'll be third/fourth in chips going into the FT, if we call and lose we'll be 8/10 left, if we fold we'll be 7/10 left

1) check raise all-in on the flop
As played
2) Jam or bet pot committing amount on the turn yourself, as you know have a double gutter in addition to your flush draw

Flop call is fine. At these stacks you can also consider small flop check raise intending to call off a jam. We could check raise jam ourselves and it isn’t terrible, but then we lose the ability to have bet folds and our bluffs become very much equity driven.

As played I actually don’t hate turn donk when we turn the additional equity. When we check and villain jams it’s probably close, maybe we fold with the ICM implications and an assumption villain underbluffs at these stakes, but I can’t imagine call is a torch or anything.

Villain starts with only 15BB so I think flop c/r all-in is totally fine. If not, I like the donk shove on turn.

We want to be putting the pressure on villain with a hand like this, particularly with the ICM implications, rather than just calling it off.

Stop and go is pretty much money here. As played, call is mathematically fine of course.

I agree w/ ck/jam flop.
AP I would open rip the turn.
AP call it off but I'd rather I was the one applying pressure.

I've been looking at lot of these sub-20BB spots lately and you do have some options in single-raised pots to click over small c-bets. (although this c-bet isn't that small) A lot of the hands what want to click are usually Tx (trying to get flush draws and worse pairs to jam), but you can also mix in some flush draws as well.

When you play call or jam only, you lose a little bit of equity because now your jams are pretty equity-driven (i.e., flush draws and pairs), some hands that might otherwise call now fold, and you also end up having to jam some stuff that's kind of uncomfortable, like 77 or 66.

There's nothing inherently wrong with a jam or call strategy here, and it's probably simper to execute and more than fine for a small-stakes tournament. But there are some options we have even in shallow SPR spots to do other things.
