No, that is not correct. I tried to meet up with both of them, separately, on several occasions. All attempts resulted in them not being available to meet up or in one instance them saying they would meet me at the borgata and then never showing. After this, one of them claimed I was a scammer (the correct term would have been welcher) despite my many attempts to pay them and then proceeded to slander my name all over the internet on forums and podcasts. As a result of this slander I am not paying, not because they failed to meet up or show up. They have done what I consider to be irreparable harm to my character (one of them anyway) and as such I feel at minimum my obligation to pay them is void.

So u are saying they paid 1k $ for the fun of making some scam accusations on several forums? I don't see why any sane person would do that, while you could've transfered the money via multiple ways that are a lot easier than meeting up in person - at anytime.

Finally (the sn of the other guy involved in this) told me before he went and slandered my name that he would be doing so. I made sure to very specifically tell him that, if he slandered me that I would full stop not be paying them. I also told him that if he didn't do what he was planning that I would continue to work with them to get them the money. He went ahead and did it anyway. He knew full well that by doing so, that I would not be paying them. So in some respect, they did pay 1k to slander me.

If you knew the way he played poker, maybe that decision would make significantly more sense contextually, but I won't bother getting into all that here. For people who are semi regs in AC anyway, it is not that much of an inconvenience to meet up at borg, especially when I was willing to work with them in finding a time that they would be there anyway.

We're in the US, so we don't have stars for one... Netteller wasn't back in action in the US yet at the time this all took place. As for paypal, I have had several problems with paypal in the past and as a result I no longer use it, not to mention the extra $30 or whatever is would cost to xfer 1k. They never gave me any account data to transfer funds to. Meeting in person just seemed simplier/easier especially for 1k. I don't know how any of that is at all relevant to what actually took place though...

Facts are simple: U owe the dude 1k and refuse to pay, that's the definition of a scam. It's really obv for any viewer from outside that u actually did so from the beginning by not paying him via one of the endless possible ways that don't require meeting up in person. Those are not the facts as I have already explained. I owed him 1k and attempted to pay him many times. I never once refused to pay him until his minion went and slandered me. I don't know why you would think that I never intended to pay him when I tried to meet up on multiple occasions. That doesn't sound like someone who's intention from the beginning was never to pay... I think there was another time after that once I had gotten back to the US, but I could be wrong. Also, I tried to meet up with finally on at least 4 or 5 separate occasions to give him the money to pay you. I would agree with you if he was just his friend. But Finally (the other guy involved) was much more than just his friend, he had 50% of glytter in the bet and glytter authorized him to collect the money on his behalf. If someone who you authorized to collect a debt, for which that person also holds 50% of that debt, went around and slandered the person who owed you the money, then surely that would make you complicit in that slander as well. There is no room to say that you were just an innocent bystander in that situation.

I will not make excuses for anybody here. I'm sure we all agree we would like to get paid when we win. But publicly insulting people in a non-related thread does not make the issue any better.

On a related note, have not seen Finally neither here in this forum nor on the site. Has he changed his name like so many others on Party / Borgata? Or is there some reason he cannot post on 2p2? Not like him to not reply on this forum.

I know I'm not alone when I say that it seems like a great deal of progress is being made in these negotiations. I truly can't wait for what's in store the next few weeks/months in this thread, as cicakman and FatalFlaws work harmoniously towards a just compromise.

Wow, I have no interest in this dispute, but the reasoning for you not paying is astounding. Really simple, pay the man the money or you are a scammer. Pretty black and white issue here. I would be "slandering" your name as well if you were to welch on an amount owed to me.
