for the techies: i think attempting to renew the address at half of the lease time is something MS specific. they will try it the first time at half of the lease time. if it succeeds OK, if not you stay with your current parameters (address, gateway, subnet, ...). It will retry it at a configurable interval until the end of the lease has been reached. usually you use a router (most of them based on linux) and the DHCP server on the provider side will run on linux too.

I second your problems and anger to them. The same bull**** is happening to so many people and asking for their computer specs and asking for a screenshot is a waste of time. Your software freezes every few hours. Your software folds people when it shouldn't. Your software mistakenly geolocates people out of nj far far more often than wsop and 888. Apparently The first two have been happening since you updated your software in September and you don't care enough to fix it. Remember back in 2005 when loading tables would cause your computer to crash because it never gave back the RAM? Took you years to fix it.

You should come down to my office where I play poker and I will show you how to run my poker business. When I have software and computer issues that affect my bottom line, I fix them immediately, at whatever the cost. You should hire snowmonster, who apparently can tune and fix your software better than anyone(if you even have anyone) working for you. I can't wait until poker stars is allowed back and they crush you guys.

strong words, i can only imagine how the people feel suffering from this.

as a techie i must admit that geolocating ain't easy, but such a big company should be capable of doing it. 3rd party web sites can do it obviously.

doing the screenshot of http://whatismyipaddress.com/ + recording the point in time should isolate the problem and cleary demonstrate them that the problem is rather on their end. ("isolating" means making your problem theirs)

on windows you can make a screen shot by pressing the print screen key to capture the full desktop (even though theese days it will not print anymore but copy it onto the clipboard). then open up mspaint and paste it to save the file and attach it to an email. some email clients allow you to directly paste it into an email without using mspaint first, this however requires HTML message format. you can also use ALT+PrintScreen to capture only the active window.

I blacked out my IP, but the site was able to locate me. Once again within 10 minutes of getting on tables. Happens every single day. Sent this to support, not that it will accomplish anything.

It's not easy, but it's an important aspect of their business. They could send someone to wsop and ask them what they are doing because it works much better. They could call someone up at google, four square, weather.com and everyone's else with an app or website that geolocates you and ask them how they do it.

Why am I so pissed? 6 tables x 4 freezes/disconnections a day at 1-2 and 2-4 equals a crapload of money per year in blinds/ hands I paid for but don't play,not even including the pots I lose. If anyone wants to be shocked, do the math.

I like the geo locate errors, just another uncontrollable element that tilts all the fish.

Another update: Party rep on 2p2 sent PM asking for phone number and a time to call. Told him yesterday that during the afternoon today works. No call. Consistent A+ service and treatment from Party Poker. Still no response to any of my 4 emails providing screen shots of all the issues either.

How bout just stop playing ?
