Not sure if this was ever mentioned before. It's news to me. When in classic view instead of clicking the join button, highlight the table type you wish to play and hit enter. A table will pop up and you will be asked to join a wait list.
It's not what many people here want, but it's better than opening and closing tables until you find one with people at it if you don't feel like starting a new table.
