Tournament Improvement Thread Tournament Improvement Thread

I thought it'd be nice to have a thread for suggestions to structures, game types, schedule, etc.

My suggestion is to please reconsider the Sunday $50K that starts at 19:30. For a tournament that has 20 minute blinds and a 10K starting stack that is just far to late in the evening for players that have jobs to be able to play it. How do you expect someone that has to be up for work at 7 AM to be able to play poker until 5 AM?

I think moving it up to 5 PM or earlier would help make it playable for a much broader group of players.

Oh wow, I haven't noticed this yet because I haven't played any SNGs but that is BAD. It will be worth looking at the tournaments as well. It'd probably be more applicable to compare the rake to other NJ sites though.

This is pretty huge. As a Philadelphia resident who will be driving over to NJ to play Sundays I'd like to keep to a reasonable schedule. Even a 4pm start time would be fine. Also can we get a warm up? say a $55 1pm event?

Request for online satellites ($10 - $50) for every event in the Winter Poker Open. Satty's to a $500 event would be amazing. I would definitely play them.

They have a $109 $10K at 2 PM on Sunday's I believe, but not this Sunday. They have a decent schedule so far, the times are all just ******ed. Not sure who thought the main Sunday tournament with 20 min blinds and 10K stacks starting at 7:30 EST was a good idea, but they clearly are clueless.

Bump to this.

Is there any way to turn off these alerts each time we register for a tournament? Do we really need to agree to the terms and conditions and set a reminder 60 times a day?

Its 6 clicks from the lobby to register for a tournament and 3 different screens pop up. It gets cluttered and lags the client more if you have a few tables open.

+1 this and the annoying email that comes every time you login.
WSOP/888 had an unsubscribe option not Party/Borgata

Without a doubt need earlier start times. It's only NJ... don't see why we are starting so late. Should be able to start the majors around 2pm that way when I punt my stacks I can pass out watching the 8:30 football game and not have to dwell for hours about it

once again, welcome to party's software.

there are a ton of these small inconveniences that there's just nothing you can do about.

my favorite is how after you fold it'll still blink the window like it's your action, and then you have to click the window, you do nothing cause you don't have cards, but the clicking of the widow is (generally) enough to stop it from blinking. although dont' click away too fast, casue then the click won't register and you'll have to do it again!

party!!!

ok, so the structure of the sunday 50k is definitely a problem. it's good to have good structured tournaments, but i don't think many people wnat to be playing until 1 or 2am without being in the money.

i think 10k is just wayyyyyyyyy too many chips to start the tournament with. start everyone with 5k and you'll still have a great structured tournament and it will get itm much faster

I played a 6-handed tournament last night, and they still use the payout tables for 9-handed tournaments, which leads to weird payout jumps that don't coincide with tables breaking.

once again, welcome to party poker!

they have done this for quite some time. people complained, nothing changed

Something I noticed today is when there is some one all-in in a 3+ way pot, that the side pot isnt shown as chips. The main pot stays as chips and a number and the side pot is just a text number above the flop. Messes me up alot. In before gags says welcome to party.

Some comments on a few of your posts:

The $50K Sunday:

The $50K is slightly later in the day and does possess a slow structure with a large starting stack. Sunday night’s tournament finished at around 3.30am and, as we expect a significant increase in player numbers in next week’s event, we will be closely monitoring the length of time this tournament takes with a view to potentially making some amendments.

I’ll report back on this next week but in the meantime please keep your suggestions coming in.

Tournament Reminders:

We are currently looking at improving the tournament reminder functionality. In the meantime please feel free to close the reminder pop-up after tournament registration. This will not affect your registration to the tournament.

6 Max Payout Structure

We will be releasing a 6 handed payout structure soon. I’ll update here with further details when available.

Thanks

Does this Include changing the 6 max sng structure as well. The 60%- 40% payout you currently have is the flattest of any site i've seen. I think moving it anywhere from a 65-35 or a 70-30 would be much better.

+1 to ^^^
12-03-2013 , 02:33 PM
thanks for the schedule! looks good so far.

1 suggestion, how about a few less hyper turbos. hyper turbos are fun, but they seem to be a bulk of the schedule. i think when you guys are first starting out you want some 'real' tournaments before you start adding all the gimmick ones.
12-05-2013 , 09:43 AM
I like the 50k structure and 10k stacks are the nuts... Also, is there a way to make the tables full screen or just bigger on BorgataPoker? If not can this option be added in the future?
12-05-2013 , 01:01 PM
As many have said, please move up the $50k start time. Since everyone is in NJ (Obv), there is no reason to have it start so late. 2-4 PM is perfect.

Also, can you comment on the schedule that was originally posted online under tournament schedule? There are several tournaments that were originally listed that are not running.

I think the $20 early double chance with $3k guar, and the 1130PM $5k turbo

Saturday $2k PLO and the $2.5k 6max Hyper

Also, the bounty turbos

When should these be on the schedule?

Thx!

So when you say soon, how long is that in party poker time? About 4 months?

+1, less hypers luckaments, more deepstack and/or regular speed turbos. Slower structure makes me happy person
