Sunday $50K GTD Changes

We’ve listened to our players’ feedback and we’re rolling out a new and improved $50,000 Tournament this Sunday, February 9th. Main upgrades to the Sunday $50K include; improved structure, $10,000 GTD up top and a 5:00pm start time with late registration ending at 8:00pm. We would like to thank our players, as well as Matt Savage, Mike Sexton and Tab Duchateau for the suggestions.

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

in case you didnt see the other thread:

the whole point that everyone made was that you guys have a really good structured tournament that's just at too late of a time.

now, i agree that the structure was simply too slow, and this could have been fixed in a number of ways..however, why on earth would you get rid of so many levels later in the tourney?

getting rid of the early levels when we're 500bb deep was VERY good.

getting rid of 250/500 and 600/1200 and 6k/12k was VERY bad. please add them back.

like, you completely destroy the structure of the tournament when you're deep and at the final table.

how hard is it to make a decent structured tournament at a reasonable time? it's not hard to comprehend that players dont' want to stay up until 2am to make $0 or min-cash. however, players don't want a total crapshoot deep in the tourney.

in other words: faster in the beginning is ok as long as it's slow near the end.

let me say that again, faster in the beginning is ok as long as it's SLOW near the end.

one more time, maybe you guys will understand it....faster structure in the beginning = good....slow structure in the end when all the money is on the line = good

players asked to simply move the time up and fix the PAYOUT structure. every was in great agreement that the tourney structure was very good.

if you want to make it faster, you honestly could have cut out the first 4 levels of the tournament and still would have a GREAT tournament. instead you took out random levels in the middle and at the end which is completely horrible and destroys the entire structure

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

i agree. taking out 250/500 and 600/1200 etc is just a tragedy that shouldn't ever happen. that makes these blind jumps way too big in a crucial stage of the tournament. I'm pretty sure these aren't actually improvements at all from what it was initially. The only real necessary thing was moving the start time up a couple more hours, and maybe taking out one or two of the pre ante levels that were not necessary. Instead you guys have botched this whole thing. Fix this

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

As usual, I agree with gags on everything mentioned. Moving up the start time was great, but the elimination of crucial mid/late stage levels is absolutely devastating. Not sure if possible but please fix this prior to next Sunday.

agreed, if they were gonna chop up the structure they didn't have to move the time up, lol

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

All they had to do was move up the start time and then think outside the box a little. Keep exactly the same structure but change the times of the levels. Look at how live tournies work. The first few levels 10 mins. The next few 12 mins. The next few 15mins. The next few 20 mins. Then FT can be longer if u want it. What do u pay your employees to do anyways? You guys have player representatives that play poker for a living. Ask them maybe? Ask the people on here maybe?

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

Thanks again for all of your feedback, we truly appreciate it. We're continuing to review and improve our tournament offering and your suggestions and feedback are very important.

With regards to the new Sunday $50k, we have made a number of changes in light of what you've told us. Firstly, we have reinstated the 600/1200, 6,000/12,000 and 60,000/120,000 levels. In addition to this, we have removed some of the early levels - 10/20, 20/30 and 30/60 - and replaced them with 25/50. These changes, together with the earlier start time of 5:00pm, should now result in the Sunday $50K concluding at a reasonable hour.

You can see the full blind structure here:

Please continue to suggest any improvements you'd like to see to our tournament offering - we'll take them all on board and make adjustments where possible.

Thanks as always.

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

thank you sooo much for listening to player feedback.

it's very very awesome that you take player feedback into consideration when making changes.

the new structure looks MUCH better.

teh biggest advantage is that it's still deep in the beginning, but not so deep that you have to fold for 4 hours before anything meaningful happens. Also, a slightly quicker structure in the beginning is good as long as it's deep when you're in the money and at the ft

any chance we can get the nightly $10k changed to a similar structure? starting with 10k at 10/20 for a nightly tourney i just way too deep and makes the tourney unnecessarily slow.

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

Is it necessary to have a 3 hour late reg??

I'm not against late reg but 3 hours seems a little extreme.
Iv'e seen guys come in after hours of play and just flip like nuts and they are right there in the pack - it's frustating as hell when I grind for hours and have some dickweed come in and be right with me after 5 minutes?

Plus when did all this late reg start anyway - I remember back in the day it was reserved for major tourneys and now EVERY single tourney has 60-180 min late reg?

Who cares, do you really think the guy who registers late has an advantage? If you think he does, then why don't you late reg too?

Let late reg go on for as long as possible, just grows the prize pool

The start time was not a problem, it was the start time combined with the ridiculously deep stacked structure. Moving the start time up OR fixing the structure would have been satisfactory. Party chose to do both, which is also fine, and I think will appeal to even more people.

The thing about late reg is that it gets to a point where extending late reg really doesn't make the tourney last much longer. Sure 1 hour of late reg vs 0 late reg is a big difference in tourney size and length. But once you're talking about 3 vs 4 hours of late reg you're probably only actually adding a few minutes of time to the tourney.

For starters, after a certain amount of time you really don't get a ton of people that enter. The people that do enter have fairly short stacks and a lot of them don't last too long in the tourney. Even if they do last long, we've only added a handfull of entrants, again, no significantly affecting length of the tourney

In a nutshell: adding very extended late reg doesn't significantly add to time and only can help to build the prize pool while making a few extra latecomers happy

Heres a change you guys should make to your "major". How bout the buy in. $185 + $15 needs to go. $200 + $15 is the industry standard if you wanna call it one.

The tournament schedule was revised based on player feedback and we had posted this information on our website, the lobby & the 2+2 forum on 6th Feb 2014. Separate mails were also sent to past participants informing them of the change.

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

kudos to party on listening to feedback. the tourney felt muchhhhhh better this sunday. was a reasonable speed in the beginning yet still deepstacked enough that you didn't feel rushed, and the tourney still played very deep late.

start and end time seemed reasonable to me, and the turnout showed it!

thanks for listening to players!

Re: Sunday $50K GTD Changes

Would love to play this or any tournament on party today but the damn "we cannot verify you are in NJ" pops up every 20 minutes. Tired of the bull****. I am in the middle of NJ.

No problems on WSOP or U or 888. Just party.

Don't understand it and don't think I should have to. Fix it.

Basically it seems if 2 of my neighbors have wi fi on I can play on party. If they do not I am screwed. Does your system really need 3 active wi fis to verify? That is beyond dumb. My play is dependent on a neighbor?

Yep was just logged in and my neighbor **** down wi fi and I am not able to play. So ****ing stupid in this day and age of geo-location.

How is shut on the censor list?
