Wait list solution? Just add a wait list! This shouldn't even be an issue over a year after launch.

...this scares me.

if you don't want to implement an actual wait list (which, i don't really know why you woudln't, the way it is now basically only regs are getting empty seats at tables. if there was a wait list at least recreational players would have a shot at them).

but if you don't want wait-lists, then at least employ table starters so people can start new games without having to play heads up (since many recreational players do not like playing heads up)

Obv party just gonna switch it back to how it was. They will show us!

I'm very curious to how only regs are getting empty seats at tables with the current system, that makes no sense to me.

Recreational players have no interest in waitlists, and just want to play ASAP. I start games with recs all the time and the table fills very quickly.

Just like individual table selection, waitlists only further encourage bumhunting and lead to less overall tables. There are less 2/4+ tables since party changed the lobby view last year.

Implementing changes that lead to more table selection are bad for games. Having weaker regs join waitlists rather than help start new tables hurts the games.

They will shortly be blaming Verizon, Comcast, and Optimum along with complications outside of their control for not implementing the solution and or just waitlists.

At this point I don't even care about the wait list I find in table selecting easier than if we had wait lists anyhow.

I play from midnight to 5 am & the traffic is slightly greater than normal ; due to the promotion.

Thus, on a greater scale, how necessary is a waitlist anyhow?

so by still in the pipeline, does that mean the relevant team hasn't gotten back to you yet?

or was their response something so secret that you can't possible share?

I mean, if you guys have no intention of ever having a waitlist in the near future, just say it. The constant run around and lack of communication is terrible customer service.

Think of it less as a pipeline, and more like a sewer pipe, or better yet, the pipe from a toilet, with a trap. This request has clearly gotten stuck in the trap.

weekly bump since the rep still hasnt responded.

for those saying they want waitlists on party, on wsop last night i waited 30+min for a seat at this table...once i tried to take a seat, this happened:

on wsop the system gives you 60 or 90 seconds to take your seat once it becomes available, and waht happens is a game is 6 handed with a 10 person waitlist...one person leaves, and it gives first person on list 90 seconds to take the seat. the seat says RESERVED for 90 seconds. if this person is afk, or just taking a long time to make up his mind, then the table plays on 5 handed for a while. Then, if another person leaves, or someone decided to go to the bathroom or something, and they sit out, you wind up with a 4 person game. This can all easily happen while the first person on the waitlist is afk or just missed the box that said it's his turn at this game (since the box that pops up doesn't always pop up in front, i miss them a lot of the time)...

anyway, the 4 handed game plays on for a few hands, but a lot of people don't like playing that short and start to sit out. before you know it the game is broken in under 90 seconds, and there is still a 9 or person waitlist.

the fact is games break at a MUCH faster rate on wsop than on party because of the problems with waitlists.

now, i'm not saying that what party is doing with no waitlists is better, because there's definitely problems with this system too, i just know i hate jumping tables all night long and on party i'm much happier just picking a table and sticking it out for a few hours because they don't break at the rate they do on other sites

Sorry - other priorities have overshadowed this request
All I have from tech is "currently still in progress"

I was initially largely in favor of the waitlist system, now I am not sure if I am. Maybe the waitlists can work if they give 20-30 seconds to choose seating, but considering pretty much no one starts games, why reward a system that is completely intended to just feast off the fish? I can only imagine how annoying a waitlist system would be when one seat opens and a bunch of people refuse to take the seat when the one player they are waiting for has just busted. Maybe a tiered waitlist system would work where you get punished on future tables for refusing to take your available table. Either way, a straight up waitlist wouldn't be good for games at all imo.

I am kind of leaning this direction now too.

I think Gags30 pointed out some concerns about the wait lists way back. And based on everything, they are a symptom of a problem and not a root problem IMHO. We have so many other problems on this site. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. It looks like wait lists are going to .... wait. :-P
