OK, everyone gather around while daddy Rhino breaks it down.

Let me preface this by saying that I've probably done this transaction more than all other players combined. All the desk people know me by name now. I ran a one-man harassment campaign over several weeks to get this comp dollar conversion functioning.

So far I've purchased around $300 comp dollars in the iRewards store and converted all of them at the casino. I am already a Black Card holder from live play at Borgata, but I have not played a single hand of live poker since online dropped. When online began I needed to earn $481 more comp dollars to renew my status. I now only need to earn $361.

So yes, purchasing comp dollars through the poker client has moved my count toward renewing my brick and mortar Black Card.

However, it does not happen immediately or with much rhyme or reason. Every time I have made the conversion, I check the machine at the casino to see if the count moved and it never does. However, when I get those trip report emails that Borgata sends telling you how much you played over a trip then the count is moved... sometimes.

From the $250 I purchased (the last $50 is recent and I've yet to get the trip email) I've seen $120 move off the count. I don't know when/why/how it does, but I can guarantee it happened. I can post the emails if no one believes me.

I'm speculating that it has something to do with how the Borgata counter worker puts the points in. As in, there's one way to enter it in the system that moves the count and another way which does not. I don't know if it's "supposed" to move the count or not, but it's a sweat after every trip.

-----------------

Now I still think a campaign is in order. Our rake should count toward the brick and mortar card and I think we can make the case to Borgata people. I got through by contacting them over and over again to get the conversion running so I think the same strategy can work.

I have a list of the cast of relevant characters and some articles that I think can help us make our case. I will post them soon when I get a chance.

Please do this. I to am a Black card holder. We should be able to show them how much more in rake we are paying than if we were to sit in the live room. I've paid only $550 in rake (if translated to live 2/5 = 55 hours of play at $2/hour comps for that stake it would = $110 comp dollars).

We should be treated equal to those sitting in the room. They have yet to deliver me free drinks every time I request while sitting in front of my computer .

Can someone clarify with some cliffs? So as of now, Party has no affiliation with borgata rewards card but they "might" give some consideration to your VIP status at party if you mention it to them? And whats the deal currently if you play on Borgata tied to your rewards card, because I don't understand from what I just read. I don't mean to come off as an idiot, I appreciate the help.

I've messaged Tab about this as well. Ive raked over 11k so far (minus rb and promotions) and think we should earn black cards for online rake as well. Let me know if there is any way that I can help.

I got curious about my iRewards points and tried to figure out what they are worth through the client but couldn't be sure about it so I called. Support was helpful. There are several ways to cash in points. They definately (obviously) constructed the system to purposely be somewhat consistant. At the Black level (there are 4 levels) each point is worth roughly $0.07, unless you convert directly to cash, in which case its worth $0.02. Of course, I needed to make a spreadsheet because that's my idea of fun. See below. If you ask me, the Poker Bonus points are maybe best if you play a lot. You basically unlock one and play it off similar to the 1st time deposit bonus so you end up with cash in your account, and its almost the same as the comp dollar rate. If you are not at the Borgata often, an don't want to pay Casino prices for food, rooms, etc. this is probably best. If you want the spreadsheet PM me and Ill email it to you.

Why are all these sites like working your way through some da vinci code crap when dealing with promos... can't they just lay it all out for us so we can actually WANT to play on their site based on what we think best suites our play, isn't that the point?

Added $5 via My Rewards desk and the Black Card counter did move. Took about 5-6 minutes, longer than it should have because a supervisor was required but nothing to complain about.

Did my first cage withdrawal, don't need to bring anything anymore besides your ID, can just show the email on your smartphone, and give the last 4 of your social verbally. 4-5 minutes, again unnecessarily long but nothing to complain about.

So, if we want to use comp dollars to get an inperson black card, we need to goto Borgata and do it in person?

Yes they haven't automated the comp dollar transfer yet so you have to go to My Rewards at Borgata for any comp dollars purchases. *The ability to get a Black Card is still theoretical as no one has done it yet and support has said online and B&M are seperate

bought ~$380 in comp dollars sunday, black label counter hasn't moved yet. i'll sweat it out a bit. cashouts at cage do take longer than they should as max said but it's a really minor inconvenience.

i also stopped getting trip report emails back in november...dunno why that is. will post an update later in the week if my counter does end up moving a bunch.

was never counted towards black label progress.

i asked the total rewards desk who we can talk to when i picked up the comp dollars. they said no one lol.

and yes it is absurd. i was making reservations for a friend's bday at the end of february and the woman on the other end told me that my comp dollar balance was higher than she had ever seen in someone's account (had ~400).

so yea, if you are trying to get black card don't do a bulk comp dollar purchase. i did so because i have issues with irewards store on my mac...as in i can't access it at all whether in the software or web client. i just wanted to buy them all it once while i was in NJ and on my friend's pc.
01-27-2014 , 04:55 PM
I just wanted to thank everyone on here contributing and trying to make this easier. If there is anyone I can email or message in any way to make it easier to convert irewards points into comp dollars, allowing the comp dollars to count towards brick and mortar black card, just let me know here. I play occasionally at Borgata, but usually only tournaments and I get no credit for those, which is really bogus since I'm paying $60 in rake from that alone. Online I do get credit for my tournament play. Thanks again and I hope this works out.

Hoping to revive this so we can push to get brick and mortar BL status.

I recently sent an email to Jordan Palamar. His title is Customer Service Coordinator for Internet Gaming at Borgata. He initially helped set up the process of going to the myBorgata center to transfer comp dollars after I harrassed all their support channels. His email is JordanPalamar@theborgata.com. I'm encouraging anyone else who cares about this to email him and plead your case. I'm posting what I sent below.

Hi Jordan,

We spoke over email a few months ago about purchasing Borgata comp dollars with iRewards points through the poker client. You helped set up the process of transferring the points at the myBorgata center and it has been very good so far.

I'm writing to ask if there has been any consideration from you or others at Borgata about play online counting toward a brick and mortar Black Label card.

I am currently a Black Label member, but my card is set to expire. I need to earn $316 comp dollars by the end of this month to renew the card, but I likely won't make that since I stopped playing live poker once the online game launched. I used to be a heavy 2-5 live player, which is how I earned the comp $640 comp dollars that have already been counted toward my renewal this year.

Since online play started I have earned roughly 13,000 iRewards points, which as you know equates to $6500 in rake paid.

A live 2-5 player needs to earn $1000 comp dollars to receive black label. At $2 comp dollars per hour that is 500 hours. At $10 per hour in rake paid, that is $5000 in rake. So I have easily surpassed this number from both my live and online play this year. I will also lilkely qualify for Black Label Elite online this quarter.

I hope there can be some consideration toward renewing my status. I am a local player in Atlantic City and have always enjoyed the Borgata above all other properties. I know that WSOP awards brick and mortar Diamond status to their players but I geniunely do not want to move my play there and would much rather stay with Borgata.

Please let me know what you think. Also, if there is any other person or department I can make my case to please let me know.

Thanks for reading. You have always been helpful in the past.

I hope this works. I don't grind there very often because they aren't tied to the B&M rewards. I'm playing mostly on 888 (80% rake back & WSOP because I can make diamond level by years end). I would prefer to give borgata more action, there just isn't much of a reason to at this time. Please keep us updated.

Thank you

It worked. Jordan left a note on my account and re-upped my Black Label card.

woo hoo

So we should email that email address you gave and if we have reached black label already on borgata online ask to be re-upped for black label?

Thanks for the update. I will try the same and hope to get the same results. I play enough that I can wait a month and still reach black card before my black card expires end of Aug.

Well i would think black label elite online is more comparable to b&m black label. Regular black label online is pretty easy to get -- only 2500 points (1250 rake) in a month.

If you check out my email above i sort of tried to make a full case. I mentioned my former b&m play, totaled up all the rake ive paid since the site opened, and subtly hinted that i might jump ship to wsop.

Something like that would probably be most effective.

Anyone have any luck with tying this to their Borgata card?

Is this a needle?

I've written extensive posts throughout this thread and you just ignore it all and drop this?

I'm going to go smash some plates

Hey Max, thanks for your updates. I e-mailed Jordan a couple of nights ago, I'm still waiting to hear back. I don't goto Borgata often anymore but I've raked over 22k on the site so far so I'm hoping he can help me out.
