see, this is actually the logic that makes for poor schedule making. every event on the schedule does not have to suit every single player on the website.

Having some lower buyin events and some higher buyin events is good because it gets everyone who plays poker on party/borgata interested in this series.

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

ok, so i took the liberty of taking the existing schedule, and making a few changes and additions that I think everyone would enjoy. please consider a new schedule something like this. There are slightly more guarantees in the series, but some slightly larger buyins should help to cover the guarantees without any problems. also, given the success of the $100k last week, I think it's pretty clear if you offer large guarantees and run satellites, people would love to play them:

(all events NLHE except #13)

Date Event Name Buyin Guarantee Time
4/19 NJCOP #1 $50,000 Freeroll FREE $50,000 4:00
4/19 NJCOP #2 $20k Freezout $150+12 $20,000 5:00
4/20 NJCOP #3 $15k Rebuy $10+1 $15,000 4:00
4/20 NJCOP #4 $100k ($20k to 1st) $200+15 $100,000 5:00
4/21 NJCOP #5 $20k 6max $100+9 $20,000 7:00
4/21 NJCOP #6 $10k Turbo $50+5 $10,000 9:00
4/22 NJCOP #7 $10k 6handed Shootout $70+7 $10,000 6:00
4/22 NJCOP #8 $15k Knockout $100+20+9 $15,000 7:00
4/23 NJCOP #9 $5k freezout $20+2 $5,000 6:00
4/23 NJCOP #10 $15k Rebuy $50+5 $15,000 7:00
4/24 NJCOP #11 $10k Freezout $70+7 $10,000 6:00
4/24 NJCOP #12 $15,000 PL Omaha $100+9 $15,000 7:00
4/25 NJCOP #13 $15,000 6max Rebuy $100+9 $15,000 6:00
4/25 NJCOP #14 $10,000 Turbo $70+7 $10,000 8:00
4/26 NJCOP #15 $10k Heads up $100+9 $20,000 4:00
4/26 NJCOP #16 $50k ($10k to 1st) $250+12 $50,000 5:00
4/27 NJCOP #17 $25k Rebuy $30+2 $25,000 4:00
4/27 NJCOP #18 $250k Main ($50k 1st) $300+20 $200,000 5:00
4/27 NJCOP #19 $15k Turbo Last Chance $100+9 $15,000 7:00

Notes:
1. Replacing the daily $10k with these tournaments is much more reasonable, as there is reason to want to play with a schedule like this. I don't think many players are going to get very excited if you replace the daily 10k with the exact same tournament only with a $15k guarantee...this schedule has new and exciting tournaments during the week

2. 2 events every day: 6pm and 7pm...some days there is just a 7pm and then a late turbo

3. Multiple price points. maybe someone doens't want to play a $109 freezout, but will play a $55 freezout, or maybe not a $55 rebuy, but will play a $22 rebuy.

4. mixed formats. when there's a freezout, there's a different format the same day. when there's a rebuy later, ther'es a freezout earlier. again, appeal to different player's preferences.

5. Take note, the friday tournaments start slightly earlier and include a turbo. after all, who wants to be in super late on friday unless they're doing real well.

6. around $100 is clearly a great price point for the market/economy...however, just because this is a good point doesn't mean that 100% of tournaments have to cost $100...have some slightly higher and some slightly lower. If someone won't play higher than $20 tournaments they might take a shot in a $50 tournament, but not in a $100, they also stand a much better chance satelliting into a $50 than a $100.

Please consider making some changes to reflect what I have listed and discussed here. Thanks for posting on these forums and being open to player feedback!

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

I like all of it gags...one change I would make is:

Remove
4/25 NJCOP #14 $10,000 Turbo $70+7 $10,000 8:00

Add
4/25 NJCOP #14 $10,000 HORSE 100+9 $10,000 8:00

The HORSE could be a huge hit and the 10k gaur. is low enough to protect borgata but also create excitement for players...100 players should be easy esp. with the right marketing...a lot of grinders in AC and elsewhere play mixed games, this isn't a new market for the poker world

It would also add some new games to the party/borgata skin that could be beneficial to all formats..going forward...esp. limit hold em...and then those LHE fish can loose all their money to me at the 6max games

i think this would be awesome, but i don't believe party/borgata currently offer HORSE at all...therefore I didnt include it in my version. i'm not sure if the software can handle it or what, so yeah...

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

you guys are insane.. no way are they adding a HORSE event or "second chance" events.

this isnt full tilt as much as you want it to be.

having said that.. there is room for bigger guarantees and a couple more events without cancelling the usual sunday 50k and daily 10ks

I don't believe HORSE can be legally spread in New Jersey.

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

Schedule looks good, would prefer more events (2 a day) and don't think that's stretching too far imo considering how well Party/Borgata are doing in Nj.

Wouldn't Mind Seeing:

- $500 - High Roller

- $50 - $100 - 2nd Chance (Turbo or Reg)

- $100 - $200 - Bounty (Super or Reg) (Surprised not to see a bounty on the draft schedule)

- $50 - $100 - Heads-Up

- $25K -- $50K - Player Appreciation Freeroll (or shortly after) made available to players who participated in 1 or more events during the series.

Looking fwd to seeing the final schedule release.

this was true a few years ago. but horse can and is spread at Borgata now. Razz was finally approved.

In the future I think there could be a market for Horse as well as the other popular mixed games but right now id just like to see a $50 PLO Rebuy or something in this series.

no one is asking for $2.5mil guarantees...having some tourneys and guaranteeing $15k doens't seem outlandish at all

wsop ran a series and had some huge guarantees and hit really a lot of them, which many people did not expect to happen.

again, look at the 100k last week, it crushed the guarantee.

yea their guarantees are pretty weak compared to WSOP's. You have to give the casual player more incentive to deposit and play which WSOP did(one of the few things they have done right) And adding a turbo wud be good being that there is alot of turbos on the daily schedule already.
You did a whole series with turbos there shud be 1 in this series

oh i know this and i agree with you.. i just meant the other games like HORSE and some of the rebuys. I dont want them to get rid of the daily 10ks and sunday 50k just because theyre running a tournament series.

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

Please listen to what Gags and Wildman have said. They log plenty of hours,
Pay a lot in rake, and have the best long-term interests of NJ online poker in mind. The schedule you posted is just way too simple, no variety and way took small guarantees. No chance you get a HORSE tourney but you can easily provide daily "2nd chance" tourneys. Start them an hour or so after that days main event and make them half the buyin and turbo or something. Also, what is the qualification requirement for the freerolls?

The guarantees can be bigger. You guys need to gamble a little. They can all be at least 50% larger. Run tons of sattelites.

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

A Pot Limit Omaha Tournament and Pot Limit Omaha/Hi Low Tournament is needed and has to be in the series to make it a series. Also make the series 15-20 events instead of 10.. theirs no reason for it to be so small their should be 2-3 events running per day.. Also Start the series 2-3 weeks prior to the WPT Borgata Spring Poker Open so that they wont interfere with each other. I would say start it The last week of march March 28th and end it April 7th. People would then use their winnings to fund play in the live series. Also some of the buyins should be chopped in half and offered a rebuy option say $25 entry and rebuy and addon fee. This right here will guarauntee a successful series and will shatter the guarauntees.

yeah a leaderboard would be cool.. but its imperative that you dont run this online series during the spring open.. that would kill some of your action

but it will also bring in a ton of people who don't live in NJ like myself. It's best these series are actually held during times when there is a live series so the recreational online player gets full value.

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

This series should be run during the spring open when more poker players are here. The live tournies usually start at 11am. These don't start until later in the evening. Gives a lot of players who bust earlier in the day a chance to play something that wont last all night so they can play live again the next day. That will only work if you fix the structures for the night events so they don't last all night. Think about how to maximize your numbers in both LIVE and ONLINE tournaments. The same people would like to play BOTH. Don't make your customers pick one of the other when they don't have to.

Also..main event buy in needs to be $300 at the minimum. And should start as close to noon as possible so people who work on Monday have the chance to play in it.
