NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

partypoker.com & borgatapoker.com are excited to announce the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker! NJCOP consists of 10 events running from April 19th to 27th. The Championship kicks off with a $50,000 Freeroll on April 19th and continues with another 9 events – one every night – with guarantees ranging from $15,000 to $200,000. It culminates with a huge $200,000 Guaranteed Main Event where we’re guaranteeing $50,000 to first place. You'll also notice Event #7 is a Player's Choice Event. We would like the player community to chose the format of the event, and we welcome your suggestions. We will be posting the possible options in the coming days - so stay tuned!

The purpose of this announcement is to gauge feedback from you, the community, on the draft schedule for the series - whether you like the events, buy-ins, format, structure, etc. So… What do think? Please post a reply to this post and we will be monitoring it leading up to the eventual announcement in the coming weeks.

Thanks in advance everyone,

Do not replace the 10k and 50k. That is ridiculous. People will be drawn to this and look for other tourneys to play. They will hit the guarantees easily.

This. The traffic that will be drawn to these tournaments will undoubtedly spill over to the usual scheduled tournaments. Keep the daily 10k and Sunday 50k. The guarantees won't just hit.. They'll crush.

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

First of all, you should be commended for looking for feedback before posting a final version to the client, kudos to you. Unfortunately, that's about where the compliments end for me. You guys guaranteed 500 players last week for your flagship weekly $200 tourney and got almost 800 players. Now you are hosting your flagship series and you are keeping the buyin the same and guaranteeing 1000 players? That is super weak and you know it. Make the main event a $530 or at least a $320 and put a minimum of 300k on it. There is no shot you will miss it. So many people will be in NJ anyway for the Spring Open and WPT 15k so if you market it enough and advertise properly, you will crush it. You can't keep it the same buyin as your regular tourney, there is nothing special about it. Run a ton of satellites, steps, etc and you will make it easily.

Secondly, whats w/ the boring schedule? No PLO, no turbos, no rebuys, no shootouts, no HU? I mean use some creativity, take some chances for christ's sake. You guys are the market leader in traffic in NJ, there is a huge market, people want to play some fun good structured events, give us what we want. Its an absolute joke that your Sunday schedule has literally NOTHING exciting to play besides the $200 at 5pm. Like another post said, you realize we like to multi-table? You realize that the more tables we play the more rake you generate? Its completely mind numbing that you refuse to enhance your sunday schedule around the $200. Its so painfully obvious that people would love to play some 50 freezeouts or a nice 109 at like 2pm or even earlier. How hard is it offer these tourneys? Just put some lame guarantee on them so you won't lose money and you can gauge interest. I just don't understand what your tournament team does every day? Do you guys even read the feedback thread? It just makes no sense at all.

I hate to sound contentious but you are Party Poker!! You have been around forever, you are the market leader in NJ, we shouldn't have to tell you these things. This all just seems so simple to me, I would love to hear an argument on why it isn't. Again, you are the market leader in traffic, why aren't you leveraging this at a time when you know people are logged in and looking to fire off $$?

Finally, add a high roller to the schedule or at least compliment the daily main events w/ some "2nd chance" tourneys. Make them half the buyin and you don't even have to put guarantees on them. People will play them. trust me we are starving for more options as it is.

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

This would be a good weekly schedule to add to your 10k and 5k.

If you ran these tournaments starting next week, I would be surprised if you had any overlays at all, aside from the 200k main.

Most of the overlays you have now are due to your glitchy lobby.

This really is an excellent post. ffs you still don't have any MTT from the $21-$99 buy in range. What can you possibly be doing it is March!!! The first few months I figured you're just working on what works best but it has now been over 3 months and you're still offering so little! It's good you at least are going to run an online series but c'mon guys.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ VICIOUS VINNY'S POST AND LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAYS IN IT!!!

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

1. as others have said, don't replace the daily 10k...changing the daily 10k to a 15k hardly feels like a special event at all

2. having a $200 100k and $200 50k and $200 200k are all nice, and look like they'll be good tournaments. but you just ran a 100k, and a 50k runs all the time. why not try some new price points?

First off, the Main event of this series HAS to have a higher buyin. Why not have a $215, a $265, and a $320? these slight differences in buyins help to build the prizepool and make the tournaments feel more "special" and encourage people to deposit to play them, rather just another boring old $200.

3. I really really like the addition of the 6max tournaments, I think their placement in the schedule looks good, leave them. But instead of having both of them begin $100 freezouts, how about make one of them a rebuy? A $100 rebuy 6max could be quite popular, perhaps make the 2nd one a rebuy.

4. The players choice even just has to be PLO, you really need a plo event in the schedule, so i think that should just be this one

Gags great job as always....i would like to be the first to say I appreciate Borgata/Party asking us for feedback.

I am a midstakes 6 max grinder on borgata and appreciate the action(just not the rake!?!?) but I do enjoy playing tourneys from time to time as of right now I only play the 50k every week..not enough of a grind.

Suggestions for Tourneys:

-Rebuys unlimited + add on (low buy-in(10-20$) big player pools lot of donks)...winners win more per dollar spent on tourney

-HU tourneys get people more involved in different formats of the game; could be beneficial all around

-Obv PLO tourney duhh

-Maybe even some HORSE tourneys?

-DEEPSTACK tourneys are great; and skill players will appreciate this much more (may lead to more tourney traffic); more players tilting on cash tables!!!

-HIGH ROLLER TOURNEYS!!!- 200's cool but something that will add a little more to the experience also maybe get some of those new york stock brokers to play online some more ;-)

PS. I also say all of this because I noticed that Borgata/Party's player pool has been somewhat stagnant the last 2 months; this may be because recreational players would like some more variety beside a donkament or 6max cash game

Re: NJCOP ANNOUNCEMENT – DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

Like others have said before, I also appreciate the fact that you have asked for our feedback on this. I could probably fill a few pages with comments but I will try and keep this short and sweet and to the point. Please don't take my harsh feedback personally. I am just trying to be constructive and helpful in getting the most out of this kind of stuff.

Are you guys afraid of being creative? That schedule looks like it was thrown together 5 minutes before you posted it. You guys have so much potential. USE IT.

Why does there need to be one event per day? Why do they all have to have the same starting stack? Same time on the levels? All no limit?

For example...Your weekday tournaments should have a quicker structure to accommodate the many people who have to get up in the morning to go to work. Event 5 could be a semi turbo or something. Start it with 5k starting stack at 25/50. First 10 levels 8 mins long, next 10 10 mins long and so on. I wonder if your software is even capable of doing something like that. If not...just have something with 8 min levels throughout or something.

There is no reason there cant be a $10 rebuy tournament on the first Saturday with a $10k-$15k guarantee. You should try and cover all buy in levels in this series to get more people involved/excited about it. Not just the $100 level. I think you should also consider having some kind of high roller(ish) tournament. Maybe a $500 with a reduced rake and different structure. Maybe ante from the start or something. OR 1st place guaranteed 30% or something. I have no idea how this would do, but I am sure if you put it on a sunday with some cheesy $10k guarantee on it and ran satellites for it.. it would do okay.

The main event also needs to be looked at. I would recommend starting it much earlier in the day. Perhaps 1/2pm? And looking at a different structure than your normal sunday 50k. Maybe 15k starting stack with the current structure? Maybe 10-12k with your old original structure? Maybe something with 12 min levels for the first 6 levels or so. 15 for the next 10 or so. then 20 for the rest of it.

There have been a ton of great suggestions posted in this thread by a lot of different players. I really hope you choose to listen to them. The 100k was a huge success last week. So huge that your payout structure wasn't even prepared for it. Do not underestimate things like that for this series.

If anyone over at Party/Borgata wants to talk about this further, please feel free to DM me/message me elsewhere because as you can see I am pretty passionate about trying to grow the game of poker, especially here in New Jersey.

50 players rebuying a few times would create a $15,000 prize pool. that would be a good tournament imo

also, i think it would get more than 50.

but it doesnt' have to be a $100, it can be a $70r or $80r.

fwiw...wsop ran a $200r not too long ago and it got over 100 runners
