I cant even connect from Borgata's own poker room. lol wtf... Yes I know it's been done but I guess it doesn't work so easily

I am at a Mariott in New Jersey and it's not verifying my location. I am positive there is nothing installed/running on my computer that would cause this.

Any ideas?

It looks Party Poker isn't ready for primetime in New Jersey.
I play on Borgata (is it the same locator?) and haven't been booted for two months now.
I live a two minute walk away from the river in Edgewater.

I don't think the locator has anything to do with how close you are to the border. It has everything to do with the other wifi signals they are using to locate you.
I wonder if someone passes by with a NetZero box or a iPad with 3G if that disrupts the locator. Or maybe a closeby signal that is based in another state (like Starbucks style).

(I live in a detached house and there are other detached houses all around; most of us have TW Cable so this probably makes things pretty solid for me)

They don't toss you out of the current hand. They let you finish it, and then they kick you out.
The only problem I can see (regarding your point) is if you're in a tournament and can't get back in.

Is that has been my experience in cash game play.
Set around for hours waiting for a hand, finally get aces and get dumped out.

Any ideas why a tablet may not be able to get geolocated, even though my laptop is?

I cannot believe this problem still exists after 6 months. are you serious? Just got blinded out of a tournament and I could only play a hand that i had to fold and right next hand I was again dc'ed. total jokes. gonna wait for response from support. How can you possibly play on a site that has problems like this? email from support says i need to have 3 wifi connections which I do have ever since I started playing in November. my internet set up hasnt changed since and suddently im blinded out of a tournament. Im so tilted.

We understand while trying to play you're having trouble geolocating with us . We'll like to get some details of your experience and thus request you to conatct customer service who would help with the troubleshooting and can try to get you online at the earliest.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

According to borgata's geolocation system, my IP address is coming out of Brooklyn, NY. Support told me I need a NJ IP address, and that my ISP should be able to give me one. But they're wrong, Cablevision's system doesn't work that way. I spent hours on the phone with Cablevision, but there's no way for them to change it. They use randomly-assigned dynamic IP addresses, not static IP addresses. And of course, Cablevision is based out of NY, but they provide services in NJ and Connecticut also.

Oddly, borgata's customer support said that he could see that my wifi was located in NJ. Well, wouldn't my wifi be more important, since wifi signals need to be close by, and IP addresses can come from hundreds of miles away? It's been a month now, I'm still locked out from all the sites, not just borgata. They could've sent someone to my home to verify where I'm playing from, and they'd have made that money back in rake in a day. Instead they're losing out on $1000's because their system is horribly flawed. Its just bad business, and the support is beyond useless. It makes me sick that when i need real help, I'm stuck talking to Aknad in New Delhi.
Since most of the geolocation issue are unique / account specific we request you to contact Customer Support. For more information please see our response here : http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/22...ssues-1432473/
The IP address assigned by your Internet Service Provider may be associated with a neighboring state instead of New Jersey, which will cause you to fail geo-location. Most users will have a dynamic IP address that will automatically change periodically, however you can also try unplugging your internet router for 5-10 seconds to reset the IP address.
There are some progressive changes upcoming regarding how we determine that a player logged-in is actually in NJ subject to DGE approval. Once we get an approval and push the new parameter live for validating location we think this would have a very positive impact on geolocation success and would reduce the false negatives.

Thanks for your continued patience.

Yes I called your support and they didn't say anything that I didn't already know. "Need to see local wifi connections" etc. Well if that's the case why arent there extra Wi-Fi signals broadcasting in Borgata so at least you could play there. At the table or whatnot
