havent read any threads but i cant believe how terrible the situation has been. you would think they would have something figured out by now to find out if you are in nj. I played for a few days on party and then randomly it tells me I am no longer in NJ in the middle of a session. For the past few weeks I cant play and wont even risk playing if I can.

So I signed up for the USB thing and cant figure out how to use it. I tried installing the program and keep getting an error message. So I contacted support who went back and forth 5 times giving me nonsense answers. You would think there would be enough people with these problems that they would have it figured out by now. And why would they send these out in the first place if they wont work? I am not the only one with this problem.

not to mention someone down the road from me can play fine but i cant...no idea why this wasnt tested before launching and why its still not fixed

I also received the wifi USB booster and am also unable to install it and am also getting an error. Didn't even bother tho with support. Totally useless.

Can someone recommend a mac-compatable USB wifi adapter/booster/dongle thing that will actually solve the geolocation issues so I'm not getting disconnected so frequently?

I'm willing to spend my own money if theres a product I can buy to fix these issues from occurring. I've tried the party poker free dongle which seems to have increased the frequency of geolocation issues.

I think if you don't live close by a lot of wifi and you own a big place, you might want to buy a few cheap wireless routers and set them up in different areas in your place with different ssid see if it help with geolocation. I come to accept that there will always be issues as I live close by at least 20 wifi but still having problems. It's just matter of how often.

The iPad and iPhone apps are completely useless, as the range of these devices is even worse. This software clearly wasn't ready for prime time. Very disappointed customer here.
You do not need to be connected to the internet via WiFi, you just have to have WiFi and able to see available WiFi networks. The more WiFi networks that are around, the better as we would be able to locate you. Ensure not to run any remote desktop software while logged into the gaming client. Also please check the IP address assigned by your Internet Service Provider is not associated with a neighboring state instead leads to New Jersey.

Alternative , please call us on 877-448-5831 or PM your account details so that we can assist you if the issue persist.

It's almost like you didn't even read the issue and just copy/pasted a response.

Where houses are spaces far apart, wifi connections are not visible, with the exception of your own. This person also even stated that his ipad can not connect. An ipad is less likely to have remote control software running in the background than a laptop. So, please address the issue the irregularity in which people are being located and not located in NJ.

I have linksys router and experiencing issues as well.

Was actually looking at other options for routers earlier today and came up with these three options...

Netgear Smart WiFi Router AC1750 Dual Band Gigabit (R6300v2) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

ASUS (RT-AC68) Wireless-AC1900 Dual-Band Gigabit Router http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router (R7000) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Would love to hear whether others are experiencing success (or not) with any of these routers

Remember its not the router that needs to have wifi, it is the computer/device that you are using that needs it. What you need is a high-gain adapter for the device, something that can see more networks.

Think of it this way. The router is the broadcast station sending out the radio signal (the wifi network). The adapter is akin to the antenna on your car that lets you 'listen in' on that network. The better antenna, the further away the broadcast is able to be from you.

We looked up your account and find that your MAC has an in-built Wi-Fi like most MACs do. The Geolocation issues that you are facing are due to the number of Wi-Fis that your system sees. In any case if you intend to request for a Wi-Fi you can request for any one of the two models available as they are compatible with MAC and your MAC system would automatically detect it.

I'm on a mac and chose the second one (Partypoker Wifi USB 710N for Windows 78Vista) - it's done NOTHING to help me.

You have to be in the vicinity of three strong wifi signals and be connected to one. I don't have the others signals close to me.

Not quite true. I'm using a usb dongle on a hardwired PC. That usb is not connected to any wireless network. I can however see two... mine (which I'm not connected to wirelessly) and a neighbors. That's been enough for me to connect.

Now I imagine that the exact number of networks you'll need to see is going to vary depending on how close your IP address locates itself to a border (I'm in ocean county - about as far from a border as you can get). But you don't actually have to be connected to a wi-fi, just be able to see them.

We understand you are facing location issues and apologize for the inconvenience. Calling a customer service rep would help as they would be able to look up your account to understand why the Geolocation check is failing and then accordingly help you resolve the issue.
Alternatively, PM us your account name and an appropriate time to call and we will help you resolve it at the earliest.

You might also find the answer you need in our FAQ section

I know u will take 10 days to answer but the problem I have is I was 4 tabling and all in on 1 hand when i got disconnected for "not being in NJ". So for me to try it again is like throwing another $400 out the window. I contacted you guys and nothing was resolved, and I never got a final response.

I don't mind me being kicked off for your horrible software but not in the middle of 4 tabling and all in on 1 hand and losing the pot and no response from support..
