January 2015 Garden State Super Series (GSSS) | Draft Schedule January 2015 Garden State Super Series (GSSS) | Draft Schedule

I just looked at the tournament lobby and I don't understand why the HU tournaments have such random rake.

The $50 is 45+5
The $100 is 91+9
The $500 is 450+50

For comparison, there is a $500NL on Jan 25 that is $465+35, and there is a $1k main on the 25th that is $950+50

Party Rep, can you explain this/fix it? At the very worst, it should be $465+35...

Hi Pasterbator,

In reply to your query - as this tournament is part of a major series, we opt to take a smaller fee % as the buy ins increase on our MTT/SNG tournaments -

For example - 465 + 35 = 7% fee
- 950 +50 = 5% fee

This is a PRM decision for our major series and will apply to all over the year

Thanks,

Colette

Hi Colette,

Thanks for the quick response but I realize I wasn't very clear with my question.

The $500 (450+50) HU NL event I was talking about is on Jan 19th and is also part of your GSSS.

I'm just curious why the $50 HU event has 10% rake, the 100 has 9% and the 500 is back up to 10%. It makes me think there was some random button clicking by whoever set it up and that it should really be $465+35.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the clarification

This was indeed an error and has now been changed - $465 + $35

Apologies

Thanks,

Colette

If a player needs to use "their" time bank for this series, will the context still say;

"Judy smith will be using "HIS" time bank for this hand?
01-07-2015 , 06:29 AM
Sorry ladies but I tried. I've been waiting for some feedback but it's evidentially clear if you want to play poker & use your time bank to think a hand out, your simply going to have to be referred to as a male.

An autrocity I tell you. What happened to gender equality in poker? We're moving backward b/c we're all greedy for $ , & nobody cares about what's right . The game is supposed to be fun & now I never use the time bank rescource b/c of the despicable context I'm forced to read.

Give it a rest

I think the HU structures are a lil shallow... 10k start chips with those blinds pls

Any one missing the GSS#3 Events from Party client?

Borgata client is showing them.

*Easy Answer. Had Filter to Holdem only. Tonight's Tournaments are PLO.*

Disregard.

I am guessing you are playing the PLO events tonight? If so, GL to you.

Was probably addressed at one point but, why is there no leaderboard for this series?
01-14-2015 , 05:37 PM
yeah disappointment there is no leader board /prizes for the gsss

also nothing like the promo during last Gsss. something like finish in top 50% of 7 low gsss events and get a 50$tik. and cash in "x" number of mid gsss and get a 50$tik(or was it 100$?).

that was fun. would have been cool to see again.

those things couldnt hurt the turnout so why not add them?

So all 4 o8 satty's tonight are for just 1 event, GSSS event #8. What if I win multiple tickets?

Not sure why they don't have any qualifiers for the $20 o8 event...

Sad to say it, but tonight was such a poorly executed part of the GSSS schedule.

They insist on holding 3 7 card stud events on the same night, which alone is something that limits the number of runners for each event.

I'm glad that they held generic satellites starting last month, yet event specific satellites only run the day before and the day of.

And yes of course several of the events had no satellites at all. Combine that with the fact that O8 and NLH tournaments are also on the same night, and tonight meant I ended up playing 7 fewer events in this series than I otherwise would have.

It's a miracle they get as close to the guarantees that they do. Sadly, that may make them feel that they haven't made any mistakes, based on their metrics.

I agree with you in principle, but I personally did not think the leaderboard promo was well executed or well designed last time. Perhaps they did not include it because they didn't like the numbers they crunched on it last time.

Either way, these kinds of details are usually kept from us and I don't expect any explanation of this to be forthcoming.

Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback as always

Please rest assured this is not being ignored- I will collate all comments at the end of the series and send to the NJ PRM team for review and will reply back with any relevant comments

Thanks,

Colette

In the future, make satellite events award generic tickets for target events instead of event specific. This will bring in greater satellite traffic and also reduce the load on customer support reps who will have to deal with converting unused tickets.

Has anyone had any extra satty tickets converted yet? (like if you win multiple for the same event?)

I'm guessing (hoping) what support informed me just now is totally wrong...

What they told you is not totally wrong. Some tickets will not convert when you have duplicates. And the event specific tickets go inactive after the event has passed.

But all the tickets will eventually convert when the series is over. It would have been nice if that conversion happened sooner, so we could use the tournament dollars during the series.

Please note the following I have cut and pasted from a different thread:

Quote:
... A number of tournaments have been setup so that those tickets are not automatically converted to tournament dollars if you have more than one.

So basically, they remain inactive until they are converted. That could happen in a week, or after the GSSS is over and done with. Either way we are kind of getting the shaft because we are not able to use our tournament dollars when most of us would prefer to use them, which is now.

So if you played an event, and the ticket says inactive, then the system used a different ticket or tournament $ or cash $. But that ticket that's still in your account was not used.

The biggest problem: We have no way to know from looking at our ticket list when we have more than one of a given ticket that will not convert. So if you have 2 $50 tickets that won't convert to tournament dollars, you will only see one.

This is ripe for abuse and I hope they make things simpler and just make all future duplicates convert immediately to tournament dollars. And in addition, it would be nice to see how many of each ticket we have as well.

I cannot see event #15 in the client. I have no filters on. I can however see the qualifiers for the client and have had no trouble seeing past events.
01-19-2015 , 05:10 PM
Any reason for cutting down guaranteed tickets? Last time there were five guaranteed tickets for each event, and this series it has been mostly 2s and a few threes.
