January 2015 Garden State Super Series (GSSS) | Draft Schedule January 2015 Garden State Super Series (GSSS) | Draft Schedule

11-21-2014 , 05:06 PM
nj.partypoker.com & borgatapoker.com are excited to announce the next edition of the Garden State Super Series. This iteration of the GSSS will consist of 20 events at three different buy-in levels across a range of different tournament formats which are scheduled to run over a two week period in January.

We would like to ask the poker community for feedback on our draft schedule before we formally announce and start promoting the final schedule. Please consider that we want the GSSS to be exciting and compelling for all of our customers, and we welcome any and all comments that can help us achieve this goal.

So what do you think? Please post a reply below whether you like the events, buy-ins, format, structure, timing, and anything else – particularly how you think it can be improved. We will monitor this thread regularly over the next few days. Our intent is to announce the final schedule announcement very soon.

Are all the payouts gonna be extremely bad like last?

Pay less and make top prizes more.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is "speed down"?
11-22-2014 , 01:34 AM
PPrep can we use 200$ 50k/100k tix to enter Gsss 200$ events?

and like cik said. how about instead of paying 20% and having little $ difference from like 30th place to 9th place.
most regs want top 10% i believe(?) so how about split the diff and tryout 15%?

i see you have the Stud (wish it was stud 8 or Horse/hose) , Limit HE, and plo8 all bunched together on the same day like last time. think it would be better to split them on different days.

just noticed you cut the Guar seats in half(and more than half in some spots) for the sats compared to last Gsss.
11-22-2014 , 03:17 AM
Please can you PLEASE listen to cicak and pay fewer places and have the top prizes worth more?!?!

Please note: this does not mean pay only 2 players.

Take some looks at the WSOP/888 payouts for extra help.

Also: don't overload your servers and crash.

finally some heads up tournaments

2 questions:

1- what is a Speed Down tourney?

2- is it right to assume that the Super Bounties will be for example $100 = $45.50+45.50+9 or whatever? In other words total buy-in minus rake divided by 2 where half goes to the prize pool and half is the player's bounty?

I found the probable answer here:

http://www.pokerstars.fr/micro-series/faq/

The French is: "Dans un tournoi Speed-Down, la structure du tournoi est rapide au début et ralentit au fur et à mesure."

In English, it means "In a 'Speed-Down' tournament, the tournament structure is fast at the beginning and slows down over time."

I did NOT find an English web site with an explanation of it. (Not even at PartyPoker.com.)

Please have an intro freeroll event that gives tickets the last big tournament schedule with one was really fun.

HORSE or some mixed games like 08 S8

2-7 Single Draw NL Ever coming to the mix? Or triple draw limit... (yawn)

Re: HORSE/mixed, has PP/Borgata demonstrated that their software can even handle mixed games?

Start weekday events a little earlier (especially if you have a long late registration period). Working 9-5ers need to go to bed at a reasonable hour.

I might actually consider redepositing for this series.

-Could you make PLO8 buyin's a little bit bigger? 50$ for H seems a bit low (maybe 20/50/100 like in stud?)

-You might want to be innovative and add a game or two (5card PLO, stud8, PLO8 R/A)

-HU's event are cool, something that not every series has.

How's your software doing lately?

Look at this thread before using this site. They don't deserve your business.

Don't pay top 20%. Pay 15% max, preferably 10%.
Add a waiting list for your cash games. You guys are putting more effort into this than WSOP, but you'd make more money from all of us if you did better.

Thanks for soliciting our feedback.

The ridiculous length of late-registration should be limited.
Again like people asked last time, why are you having the only O8 tournament AND the only Stud tournament AND the only FLHE all at the same time, when there are several tournament windows with only one set of tournaments?
11-27-2014 , 07:58 AM
1. The mixed games should be split so that every day there is a variety ... all the PLO / 7stud / FLH should not be on the same night.

2. It would be ideal to have a progression, so that the low limit 7stud was on Monday, mid level 7stud on Tues, etc. That gives newer players a chance to feel comfortable and could add to the # of runners for the bigger events.

3. After seeing the way things ran last time, start times might be better earlier for the low events, with a bigger gap between mid and high ... As an example, 6 PM Low, 6:30 PM Mid, 7:30 PM High - more players will enter the mid and high events if they aren't so bunched together.

4. There should be more satellites, both before and during the series. Maybe even the last 3 weeks of December

6. The heads up tournaments are a good addition, but should not come at the cost of jamming the mixed events even worse than last time.

+1 on the late registration, please do not keep it open for 3 hrs and close to money
11-28-2014 , 12:04 AM
Not sure how many complaints, posts, etc you guys need to see before adding wait lists to cash games. I know this has nothing to do with this tournaments series but this needs to be fixed.
11-28-2014 , 12:06 AM
payout less spots and more up top
11-28-2014 , 01:38 PM
I know that Party Rep already said that they collected responses, but please note how many people chimed in purely to say that they wanted fewer spots paid with more up top. Even after Party Rep came in (possibly for the last time).

Why is it that live Borgata MTTs consistently pay like 25-27% to first place and online Borgata MTTs will often be 23-and lower %ages for first??? C'mon guys.

Hi all

Please rest assured I have noted the feedback that came in after my last post on the 25th
I have collated this and will ensure the Poker room management review for consideration

Again, thanks for your feedback and comments

Kind regards,

Colette

Colette, please pass on that the software needs a major upgrade. There are constant complaints about disconnections and crashes.

Today is no different, its actually much worse than normal and basically unplayable. Party is by far the worst in terms of software and connection. Im posting this here bc it seems all other threads and emails about how bad the software are and the frequent crashes are ignored.

I agree with this, as well as tournament payouts, 10-15% is better than 20%
