GSSS III Tournament Ticket Policy

The ticket policy needs to be addressed.

Between GSSS I and II the ticket policy was completely changed. And between PartyPoker and Borgata, the policy is slightly different.

I do not expect this thread to address or fix all the discrepancies. But players need to know if the tickets they earn in GSSS III satellites will be able to be used as tournament dollars if they cannot play a given tournament for whatever reason. This is the way all the major international sites do it, and I personally feel any alternative is unacceptable.

Please let management know the following:

1. If players pay $ to enter satellites and earn tickets, those tickets are the same as $ to them.

2. If players know they will be screwed out of $ at the end of the series, fewer regular players will play those satellites

3. Since fewer satellites will run, there will be fewer chances for recreational players to play

4. Attendance for GSSS III will be hurt and guarantees will likely not be met, likely costing the company more $$$ than they earned confiscating player $$$ with their new policy

Make the current policy clear and fair for all.

And don't be surprised if fewer and fewer satellites run than before. I haven't played one for GSSS III yet and I don't plan on playing them until this is fixed.

.

very good point. many ticket fiascos in the past. policy just needs to be clearly defined and stated without it being suddenly changed part way through.

Excellent thread op, thabk you.

I agree the most important thing for both the players and the site is that the rules are determined and clarified ASAP

Thank you for sharing our feedback.

Please note that players also need feedback.

We need to know what the policy is before we know if we will be playing these tournaments.

Thank you.

Is there an ETA on when we will know what the policy is? This series starts in less than a week.

Thank you.

Re: GSSS III Tournament Ticket Policy

PPrep/all. the sat ticket system seems to suck.

i was wondering about this go around for gsss since last one they changed the rules on the fly making tiks must play instead of converting unused tiks to T$.

so i tried playing some sats today to see what was what...

I won a 20$ gsss tik to gsss event 4 in a 1$rebuy.
played another 1$ rebuy to 20$ gsss event 4. won it and instead of converting the 2nd tick to 20T$ i now have 2 "gsss event # 4 20$ tickets" in my ticket section. I cant use the extra ticket in any other 20$ mtts.

i understand (think its dumb but i can kind of get it) that sat tiks will be "MUST PLAY" but are they really doing away with converting double tickets won into T$ as well? and again not giving us the heads up? BOOTY!!!!!!

I don't think any reasonable policy works with "must play" tickets.

When they gave partial refunds the first time around because of tournaments just crashing right before the $, I got royally screwed out of tons of equity by their formula. So the only reason I didn't play all my GSSS II events was when the technical problems made me worried for the same possible outcome. I figured I could use the T$ to possibly enter some GSSS events at the end of the series. Then they screwed us out of those tickets.

Bottom line, PP has not proven they have a reliable system. And now with Geolocation, mobile and other technical failures, it's super unreasonable to expect players to register all events they satellite into when they don't even know if they will be able to connect to the system reliably.

Let's not level ourselves on this one. It's player money. Players should have the right to decide if we change our minds and want to play a different event with that $.

i remember months ago having unused tickets that wouldnt be converted to t$ and werent when the events were finished, but during that time duplicate tickets won were instantly converted to t$. i believe this was after (almost positive it was) after the fiasco of them changing the tix rules on the fly. before the on the fly fiasco they used to convert all unused tix and duplicates to t$.

i take it as this is the last step in them removing ticket conversion which i figured was coming. to me it doesnt make any sense -as the players will still use the t$ to buy in and its still potentially the same allotted promo t$ they budgeted to give away during the series (had they not made their guarantees.

i could see them being wary of many people just playing for tix with t$ to build up a big t$ balance and not buying in with real cash which would effect their cash flow liquidity somewhat. thats really an illusion as there are only so many planned sats running which means only xt$ to be distributed to the player pool.

how many players in their pool are essentially only depositing during times they could generate t$ using those t$ and cashing out the cash only to wait months for the next session? if thats what your afraid of than put an expiration date on the t$ of like 3-6 months.

it seems like your making the move with huds, software things to make it more rec friendly and so they can essentially stretch their money further but not converting unused tickets puts a huge damper on that strategy. especially if they won those tickets using cash in the first place. most of the recs/regs still around were probably around and remember the t$ conversion. maybe it wasnt how party poker envisioned as people found a way to exploit that to their advantage and not have to risk cash and deposit. the few that did potentially do are they really destroying partypoker nj's bottem line? i doubt it. if anything when they use those t$ they are making the mtt pools run deeper thus more attractive to more regs/recs. regardless of some of them being promo t$ its beneficial in the long run. besides all they did was make one bigger event potentially have one less entrant in which party still wouldve been putting up the cash.

for party to do what it seems they are trying to do they simply need to do away with all t$ completely. seems likes thats whats going on. and that is going to piss off more of your customers and deter new ones as well.

hey im right there with you. and during last gsss when PP pulled their BS with the tickets i said as much on here. it was fine the way it was. the change didnt help players. and worst of all they changed the policy with out letting the players know b4 hand. it was scum move and a stupid move.

But now all im saying is hey PPNJ let us know whats up. let us know what we can and cant do. what happens to unused tix? what happens to duplicate tix?

like i said in my previous post in the past duplicate tix won ALWAYS got turned into T$ instantly. and that does not seem to be the case now since i have 2 gsss event 4 tix in my ticket section. am i SOL? will that extra get converted to a usable 20$ tik/20t$ after the series? (thats dumb).

so is this now like last GSSS another policy change on the fly? and another time PPNJ does a policy change w/out letting players know before hand? Or is it just yet another in a long line PPNJ software glitches?

pokerstars.

Re poor me:
yeah if memory serves during the last gsss even after the new policy of "must play tix" was leaked they were awarding T$ instantly for duplicate series tix won. i say leaked bc i dont remember anything official from PPNJ until like after 80% of the series had been played. I never heard about anything about dup tix and T$ changes.

im wondering has anyone else here won more than one gsss tix for the same tourney? maybe im just one unlucky glitch and everyone else is getting t$ for dups?

either way im glad i found out experimenting with 1$r. at least i found out cheap.

It seems like PartyPoker has just written us off. We are two days away from the series starting. And I see the PartyRep has replied in other threads. Yet there is no follow up response here. Which means she was most likely told to say nothing.

It's pretty silly that we can't get a clear description of the ticket policy beforehand, especially given that there have been so many inquiries and player complaints regarding the ticket policy for previous series. Surely, at minimum, they would be converting excess tickets for the same tournament into tournament dollars as they have done for every other series. If not are players expected not to play in more than one qualifier at once or something? i.e. if there are two qualifiers running at the same time for the same tourney, am i supposed to bust one before i reg the other there by not having a chance to win multiple tics for same event? I don't see what issue there would be converting unused tics to tourney $ as it's not like players would be able to withdraw the funds until used and virtually every event besides the very biggest always meets the guarantee.

Well they are still sending out the same email, which says

Quote:
Please note: you cannot exchange or transfer your first won entry to this tournament. Any further entries you win will be paid into your account in tournament dollars.
I guess updating this thread will be the best way to figure out what they are actually doing.

Re: GSSS III Tournament Ticket Policy

Hi all

On behalf of partypoker I can confirm our policy is not to expire tickets post series.
We do encourage all players to use the tickets for GSSS however we will convert unused tickets to T$ once the series ends

Kind regards,

Colette

thats good to hear. now lets wait and see if it turns out to be factual/glitch free.

i will say on oct 11 i played a 20$ gsss event and for whatever reason it bought me in using another non gsss 20$ ticket i had in my tix section and left my 2 Gsss#4 tix untouched. grrr PPNJ grrrrr. Those 2 unused tix then went in the "inactive tix" section. but today they showed back up in the active tix so i guess i can use any gsss tix/dups or otherwise won to buyin to other gsss mtts of the same buyin. maybe? if not they will be converted to T$ after series. maybe?

the red highlight is a cool change imo if true. if.

The ticket will show in inactive if there is no tournament in the lobby at the time for the same value buy in
Once the lobby updates and finds a tourney with the same entry - the ticket will again become active
In answer to the above question - yes tickets can be used to buy in for the same value tournaments and if not used - will be converted after the series as per the party policy

Thanks

Colette

I want to thank PartyPoker for deciding to go back to the original policy and reverse the decision that was made for GSSS II.

I also want to thank you Colette for communicating our concerns to management. The players appreciate it.

Two follow up questions though:

1. Any idea on what Borgata policy will be going forward? They seem to have a completely different policy on this and we have no way to get official communication from them except indirectly.

2. Any chance for relief for those of us that had GSSS II tickets taken from our accounts?

Thanks again.

I cannot comment on the Borgata policy - I would suggest you contact them directly via email.
I will follow up with your 2nd point however believe management may stand by the decision taking at the time for GSSS II

I suggest Partypoker contact Borgata themselves so they can work out what the rules are on the network their players share.

Party/Borg are the same skin, yet they make it sound like they are completely different entities. Did you purposely mislead us again, by not telling us about Borgata's policy until 3am yesterday?!!

Borgata pays PartyPoker to use their software.

But they have a separate management and make separate policies.

The fact that they don't coordinate more does make it confusing for players.

But that's not PartyPoker's fault. It's Borgata's choice.

Re: GSSS III Tournament Ticket Policy

Looks like borgata has a different policy towards this. GSSS tix will expire after the gsss and will be forfeited. If you have a tournament specific tix, and miss that tournament, you can however use that ticket for a similar buying gsss event.

Kinda sucks I was hoping to cash in on a bunch of tickets after the series.

i dont know about anybody else but in my past dealings with borgata and partypoker - i dealt with the same CS rep for both sites on multiple occasions. (and mutliple different reps)
