Re: GSSS ANNOUNCEMENT - DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

One related point: please create a forum on Party Poker's website and promote its use via the poker room.

TpT is frequented by many of the more serious players, but many recreational players do not come here. And if you had more input from those players, you might have made more / better changes to the schedule. It would be nice to promote a wider field for these kinds of tournaments.

I would love to know your arguments to not have any HU events.

you really don't think having a $100 buy in event with maybe a 3k GTD couldn't be met?

Re: GSSS ANNOUNCEMENT - DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

Please reconsider adding a heads up event. $100 buy in sounds good..should surpass 5k guaranteed easily..

If party_rep were aware of, and decided to share the truth with us, I suspect his response woule be something like this:

We already decided on the schedule before creating this thread. The changes we are pretending to have made due to feedback were also already decided before creating this thread. Good luck to all

By popular demand, below is a link to the Garden State Super Series blind structures. Any feedback is appreciated. Structures will be finalized by Wednesday, August 20th when registration opens for all GSSS events.

Thanks for your feedback,

Re: GSSS ANNOUNCEMENT - DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

the tourneys are loaded in the client now so we can check start stack/structure that way.

lobby-tournaments-date.

a quick look at them and i see some tournaments start at 5k or 10k stacks and have different starting blinds and different times per lev.

you can compare structure and starting stack easier by looking at:

10k starting stacks:

event 15 high w 15min levs starting @10/20
event 19 high w 20min levs starting @25/50

5k starting stacks:

event 15 mid w 15min levs starting @ 10/20
event 1 mid w 20 min levs starting @ 25/50

structures look ok.

they look pretty identical to the NJCOP structures, just with 15 min blind levels instead of 20, which seems to be a fine change so they don't take forever like njcop did.

i do think it's a bit silly that the $1k should not just be the standard sturcture, and be slightly different/better because ti's a high roller. even just start it with a few more chips or soemthing to make it feel special

Now I get it ... the structures are grouped by type, with NLHE freezeouts having slightly different structures than rebuys, O8, etc ....

I reiterate what somebody wrote, that there is no payout / starting stack information provided in the structure. That the starting stacks could be different is one thing. Is the payout standard 11%?

They should run a POY style leaderboard for low mid and high with some kind of prizes. Would generate a frenzy, plus I would play all of these if they had one. Sure others would too.

Has the standard EVER been 11%? That would be a welcome change.

I really don't know about online "standards" ... from the other structure sheet that was floating around, it seems like payouts pre-set based on the field size and they hovered somewhere around 11-12% depending on the field. I always thought it was a live standard to pay 10%, but lately I have noticed a number of live tournaments paying more than 10% of the total number of entrants.

Party/Borgata pays out between 20-30% of the field most of the time. It might actually be +EV to register and sit out.

I am guessing they are going to promote it pretty hard. I think they already have signage ready. They recently had a T-shirt giveaway to advertise Borgata online too.

I only wonder, if most people are bagging chips later than 7PM, are they hoping they get the live players to join in the bigger / more expensive mains? It might be a close call for them too. I don't think they thought about the timing for the live players, so it might be a missed opportunity.

Re: GSSS ANNOUNCEMENT - DRAFT SCHEDULE - FEEDBACK REQUESTED

Is Party Poker connected (corporate-wise) to Borgata? The reason I ask is, I am thinking about coming from out-of-state to play in the live tournament series and while I could bring my laptop and play the online series from the hotel, I hear some horror stories about doing that, ranging from not being able to "geolocate" properly to having our laptop's password security being potentially compromised over the hotel wifi. All in all... I have to say I'm leaning against it (despite having waited three years plus for we freedom-loving Americans to be able to play online again).

How do other 2p2'ers view this idea? Do you travel to NJ and play on PartyPoker from the hotel when you're not playing live? Good experiences? Bad? Some hotels better than others? Can we deposit to online account from a casino cage?

Well I've thought about it, but from the opposite perspective - if we start play online at 7pm and make a deep run, I'd say it's a given that the final table wouldn't finish until long after the sun comes up... and how might that affect a good sleep schedule for playing live poker? It's sub-optimal, at best.

1. Geolocation issues are, unfortunately, baked into the current system. They can happen anywhere in the state of NJ, so we all have to kind of try to put up with them and make do. Usually they happen when you are nearing a final table, or money bubble. While in the hotel, I have had geolocation issues come up from time to time. But usually there is no problem.

2. Any public WiFi is always a risk. YMMV. Those who want to pay more for in-room internet @ Borgata get added security and privacy. But you have to have the best security policies on your computer that you can, along with the usual measures (anti-virus, etc etc.).

3. A lot of people come from out of state to play online in AC when they are not at the live table. Most are from NY and PA, so when those states get their own online, who knows what will happen.

4. You can deposit to your Party or Borgata accounts from the Borgata Casino cage (stoopmonkey verified this for us, along with the Party_REP). You can also withdraw. Withdrawing requires you initiate via the software. Deposits, according to the site, only require you to bring $, ID and account information

5. Hotels are a personal preference. Most in town charge for internet (including Borgata). However, they do have free WiFi in some public areas. I have had issues staying high up in the Harrahs tower, and had to go back to Borgata to get online. I think this is because geolocation needs multiple networks to verify your location, so if there is no other network around it won't connect you.

The online events definitely move faster than the live tournaments. But the same thing could be said about playing cash when you break for the day in the live event. Everybody has to schedule to sleep sometime. So maybe it's best for people playing the live events to not play any online tournaments. So the whole cross promotion could be misguided.

Either way I would like to do both, as would a lot of people. I guess we will see how it works.

This!

A leaderboard with a decent prize and I'd play every low and middle event and a few high buy ins, instead of 50-60% of the low/mids and a few higher buy-ins.

They'd certainly get more rake from me.
