The sources explained that Borgata has concerns over whether new owner GVC will be acceptable to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). There has been no public announcement that the DGE has approved the continuation of bwin.party’s license following the takeover scheduled to complete on February 1, but then again there has been no announcement to the contrary either.

i saw that a few days ago. it was an interesting read. was wondering why as of lately party seemed to be adding more casino games then borgata (when for the most part borgata was always ahead of party in those respects). might explain it might be late night gibberish.

it would be an interesting scenario as doesnt borgata license party's platform (poker) to use? if they do wouldnt that mean then theyd either have to develop their own or potentially license another platform elsewhere ( 888/ maybe even ps).

one would hope that gvc had the foresight to look into it and get the dge process underway for them ahead of time. but as i understand didnt party nj recently add new casino games in the last week or so. so if gvc had any concerns about licensing issues popping up from the takeover wouldnt it just be a big risk for them to have to pay whatever costs to offer such games for a short amount of time?

if the article is true at least borgata had some smarts to look after their interests to some degree.

If Borgata switches platforms, I'm glad I switched to WSOP.

What will happen to borgata poker?. I assume will fold with Party and replaced by Pala. Sucks I am having good success atm playing midstakes across all 3 sites (wsop, 888, party). I like the ability to choose. Hopefully any decisions are based after Stars hits the market.

if borgata ends up switching platforms i hope they switch to the 888 platform and push to join the DE nevada pool 888 and wsop have going. would also give PS a stiff dose of competition.

cant see them joining with pala unless they really believe and c pala as being a potential legitimite contender in california. but that is so far aways it probably isnt even in the picture at all.

personally i hate the poker platform borgata/party use and 888 isnt much better but is somewhat more tolerable to me. aside from the technical differences they all pretty much are the same. they play too much like a video game too often for my taste. thats simply been my experience and as i simple dont get much opportunity to play live which i love im stuck with using online to play.

i think borgata's main issues with gvc are licensing worries. with secondary concerns of maybe feeling they will focus more on the casino aspects than poker. if its a case of gvc focusing on casino product more than i hope borgata will stay with gvc's casino platform and look elsewhere for the poker product.

I only mention Pala because I was under the impression Borgata already had a license agreement with them just Pala made it clear in older interviews they are waiting to see how the market shapes out in a post Stars market.

While not as hyped as the impending return of PokerStars to the United States, the return of Party Poker (now transcribed as partypoker) created a certain level of buzz in the industry. Needless to say, the product that returned has failed to live up to even the most modest of expectations.
(from this article)

No kidding!

i hope your right. i was unaware of that potential nugget (already has an agreement) however that may simply be for cashouts as i do know withdrawals from pala come through the borgata. that being said though would make a deal with pala be easier but i dont know how their poker product is coming along.

pala has by far the hands down best CS since ultimate. guess we all have to wait and see how it develops. its all just gossip and speculation at this point. obviously somebody got some sort of more reliable info to spawn the article. at least it seems borgata is trying to steer itself away from a huge potential debacle should gvc/party have license troubles

Hi all

There is no change to our relationship with Borgata. We are in the process of applying for a New Jersey licence and remain focused on securing all the necessary permissions to continue to provide our market-leading online poker and casino offer.

Kind regards,

Colette

Why are you applying for a NJ license of you have one with Borgata and your relationship is not changing I'm perplexed.
