In other threads I have read that there were issues, but they may be fixed by now.

But if you're staying there, why not just play in the poker room?

I'm going to take a wild guess...he wants to multi table online poker. He is probably not interested in playing 30-40 hands an hour.

I played in the hotel room when I was there last week, had no problem. also saw a guy playing in the hotel lobby so yeah.. Not entirely sure in the poker room tho

Doing this same thing next month.

Anyone have recent experiences playing on borgata's internet connection?

How about a phone turned into a hotspot or one of those mifi devices?

I don't think borgata makes it's simple for you to play in your room. If there's been sightings of people playing in the lobby, then most likely people aren't playing in the privacy of their own room. Borgata will not make it easy for you. The last thing they want are guests "not" leaving their rooms. Borgata is about the " Borgata Experience," not degens like us playing in the room. Nevertheless, I hope it works out for you mr OP.

Oh & lastly, take what any rep will have to say to you on the phone with an open mind. For all you know, they tell potential guests what they want to hear, solely to get your body inside the casino.

connection issues can happen anywhere, including the Borgata.

I have had the best success in the rooms and in the hotel area. There are sometimes issues playing in the poker room area.

Also note, they block WSOP / 888 so you will have a hard time playing those at the same time.

Finally, using your phone as a Wifi device creates problems for the geolocation software. It almost never works, so don't count on it.

If you can get it to work with your cell phone service, I would love to hear who your service provider is.

They charge for room internet. So once you pay, you can play for the 24 hour period no problem.

I don't think the outside sites are blocked from there. They are definitely blocked on the public WiFi networks @ Borgata.

I have played from Waterclub and Borgata rooms, as well as Casino floor/Pokerroom. No issues in the last few months other than the Cafeteria downstairs (have never been able to geo locate there).

Never heard of them blocking WSOP or 888, and have def played on both within the last month or so there. However, if there is someone else at borgata on a wsop or 888 cash table, you will not be able to sit bc of ip match.

While staying in the hotel, have you ever tried to login to WSOP / 888 from the Living Room? Have not been able to launch either from that public area in a long time. Also gave up trying though. Will try again this week.

So you are still able to launch WSOP over the wifi while at the cash tables in the poker room?

Thx.

I was able to to play WSOP from the poker room (at the table from phone, and laptop from that round couch thing at entrance)

I believe I played on it from living room. but I can't remember for sure.

I do know I played on wsop in the high limit video poker/slot area directly across from the living room (until security kicked me out)

I've never had WSOP appear to be "Blocked", not sure what that means. Are we assuming borgata is blocking it or is there a message?

Any issues have affected both party and wsop equally though from what I can remember. Overall connecting from various locations in AC has improved dramatically since last winter.

def have played on 888 and wsop at Borgata. They have the websites to download the software blocked. But if u already have it downloaded you are able to play.
10-21-2014 , 06:17 PM
That could be true I was referring to getting to the websites, they are definitely blocked.

Wow thats a pretty dick move.

Prob same bwin execs idea that decided to censor every word that has ever been used in the name of any other online poker site in chat.

Also can't say "butt"

It's not blocked, but if you are too high up in the tower geolocation doesn't work well.
