10 k Casino Major - NEED INFO 10 k Casino Major - NEED INFO

Tonight I won a seat to the 10k Casino Major. The promotion page only lists that 100 players will sit down at the chance to win 10k, but one person will walk away with 5k with the remaining players playing for the rest of the prize pool.

I don't see a breakdown of the prize pool on the site, or anywhere listed in the website. I tried to message someone from support and they were basically telling me the same things from the webpage which I already knew.

I was also told the "10k guarantee is only guaranteed if all 100 players register" which I find confusing. Only 95 of the 100 players who qualified are registered now.

Is there anyone on here that can direct me to prize pool breakdown?? I would appreciate it. Thanks

Thank you for contacting Customer Service.

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Please note that we have checked with the respective team. The prize structure for Casino Majors is unique and since it's a fixed pay-out to all players, the system cannot display the prize structure. However, the prize structure will be displayed as soon as the tournament starts.

100 players will sit down at the $10K Casino Major but only one will walk away with $5,000. Everyone else is guaranteed a share of the remaining $5,000.

You can check the full Terms and Conditions here:

I also won a ticket into this. If we miss the 10k major over a couple or more people not registering, thats really not fair. The prize pool structure seems to be hidden since the beginning, I don't think we will see it until the day of the tournament. The first one is this thursday july 31st at 8pm. I am curious to, to see the breakdown of the prize pool.

gl to every1 whose in it

Looks like the tournament is still shy of 4 people, does this mean it will not run if those 4 people remaining don't reg?

Looking forward to this tournament, starts soon.

I went into European Roulette and bet $1 each on 1-6,7-12,13-18,19-24,25-30, & 31-36

dodge the 0 and you get your $6 back and 0.12 casino points
repeat until you get >1.00

Any other good games that are like this? Seems like roulette is too tedious and takes too long. Plus you will ONLY lose or BREAK EVEN.
09-05-2014 , 03:44 AM
It takes $25 to get 1 point on roulette and $10 on nonjackpot slots.

For euro roulette you're risking $25 and giving up about 60 cents in equity. You will also never win.

For slots you're risking $10 and giving up around 90 cents in equity (assuming payous are comparable to AC casinos)

Most importantly though, if you had fun you won - and that roulette hedging strategy is the least fun way to gamble in casino I can think of. Unless its your last $25 just bet on one third at a time ,embrace the variance without losing any equity.

^^^^

Right, but don't you have to account for the 0? There are 37 numbers including the 0. If you just bet on 1/3 then you will NOT break even. You will lose when the 0 hits.

I played the Star Trek slots to get my casino points, and made a nice profit while doing so.

^^ Right but you still have negative EV in those slots. Just ran good it sounds like.

^^Right, but don't you have to account for the possibility he's just really really good at slots? Seems like you forgot that - should be careful, could ruin a guys career as slot pro before it even starts.

FWIW, If you hedge against everything except 0, the variance is exactly the same value as if you only bet on 1 number.

It always amazes me how little poker players actually understand about variance, and I always see it come out when poker players talk about casino games/bonuses.

Pretty sure you are mistaking equity for variance. Perhaps you are one of the poker players you mention. (or maybe I am I guess, you seem pretty certain but what you say seems pretty stupid)

Ughh, I just posted a reply about it n and it said the time ticket expired, but it basically comes down to this (shortened version.) Variance is a measure of the differences between potential outcomes and the bet you make. If you plug in those values (36 instances of breaking even and 1 instance of losing 36 VS 36 instances of losing 1 and instance of gaining 35) to a calculator you will find that they both have a variance of 35.02 with some insignificant digits after that. Essentially variance on a 35:1 bet is the same as on a 1:35 bet.

That is, variance is the same per unit. I'm not sure that the my statement logically followed the suggestion, though, and I'm exhausted so I'm not gonna go back to check because it's not important.
