When is UP going to get serious about their software? When is UP going to get serious about their software?

I would think that UP understands that developing their software is critical if they would like to compete in any state other than Nevada. Their experience in NJ should have been a lesson in how they will fare without a head-start and against more than one operator.

There still hasn't been any progress however. It's hard to believe that UP takes software development seriously when two very simple features that have been requested by their players since launch are still absent-- 1) player notes, and 2) synchronized tournament breaks.

It should be obvious to management that when a new state opens up, players will take one look at UP's software, and choose to play elsewhere. The only players that will stick will be the ones that understand the value of taking advantage of UP's promotions and tournament overlays (which is exactly what happened in NJ). To expect a different result is madness.

We all know that software is not UP's strong point-- they instead try to make up for their deficiency in this area with better customer service.

So why hasn't there been at least an attempt yet to answer this question with at least a BS answer--- "We are working hard at bringing more functionality to our software and expect these features to be added in the near future"-- you know, at least some of the same crap that they have been saying for the past year and a half?

Has UP given up? Has it come to the point where even the UP reps can't pretend to believe that software improvements are on the way?

software update is is at the end of next month.
pretty big software changes coming into play on the 3rd UP update

I definitely agree that they need to do a much larger software update than the minor feature adds and tweaks going on lately.

There are a lot of dissatisfied WSOP players who would happily switch to ultimate if the software was even 80% as playable as WSOP's. And wsop software isn't even close to perfect either.

I really don't understand why they aren't pouring more money into software dev.

Im not going to give any BS answers. Player notes are not in the near future. Tournament synced breaks is number 1, but wont be for another couple months. In the meantime, we have started manually syncing our breaks, and will have all MTTs breaking on the :55 with a small variance. The blind structures may look goofy, but will be in appearance only. time at each level will remain the same. You can check an example out for our New Nightly 1K running at 6pm. we are finishing up work on a big update to include Mac support. Also, the ipad support will come out at the same time, and this app is really nice!! We didnt want to throw together a raw, unfinished, limited, and at times unplayable tablet experience out there, and admittedly, its taken more time than we had hoped. But when we finish this up, its back to adding features and updates that everyone is looking for, like we did this year with timebank, waitlists, player colorizing, massive geolocation changes, quick deposits, previous hand history, and our self releasing bonus features.
I hear you, we hear you, and we will deliver coming 2015.

Why not? What is the reason for not having player notes?

I think this is the OP's point. Is this really all that has been accomplished in a year? Most of these should have been included since day one. It's nice that there are finally 100bb full ring tables, but that too should have been there since the start. Put money into your software. Put the right people in charge of your software.

It's a two horse race...what is the problem? Why does all of this take so long? Can you honestly expect to be the cream of the crop when other states open, and you have some real competition? Is there a goal to be?

The bonuses while more frequent are way worse than they used to be. Traffic is down. UP's customer service is top notch. Sadly, there isn't any other area where this applies.

+1 to rainz.

It just seems like the software people aren't even trying. Any updates they do make are small and take forever to build. Is it one guy teaching himself the programming language as he goes?

I think the hand history needs to be fixed. I think this is more crucial than players notes. The site is small very easy to remember screen names. However the hand history is the most painful thing ever. Make it easy like how full tilt was and how wsop is now. It needs to be just a quick visual popup like these sites employ. its a system that works that people know and like.

I agree hand histories are definitely huge, but I think its intentional with how terrible they are. It's a must, but I don't think they ever intend to change that. They don't even really address the issue. Would be great if this was a priority.

The player pool is small, but what does that have to do with not having a built in note taking feature? Remembering a screen name does nothing. There are a lot of players that come and go. Simply knowing you have played with someone before is meaningless without specifics.

Agreed that graphical hand history is at the top of the list. Wont be out for the big platform update, but shooting for the one after that with the synced breaks, and a couple other items I have on my radar.
Ill be at GVR today for our 10K Guaranteed invite only Live event. Feel free to stop on by, maybe satellite in, and talk about any UP requests, issues, gameplay etc...

Regarding player notes-- I don't understand why this feature is technically difficult for UP to implement. I'm not much of a programmer, but even with my limited skills, it seems straightforward--- especially since you already have the framework after adding the relatively useless player "colorizing" feature. If you can save a player's color, you should be able to save a little text.

It's great that you guys have a Mac and iPad release in the works. When is this going to finally happen?

Has UP considered having a representative on the forums from your software company CyberArts-- someone who is a little closer to the problems?
