Might be a good time for a customer service person to enter the thread...

Lmao, been very exciting railing this thread. The first day, I thought awesome. Learned that its a 30 day trial,50bb max games, no mix games, no play money, no hu, no VPN's can be used and tracking players with cell phone towers. Its just too much and I hope that they change cell phone tracking. Or most people will just play wsop.com when it is available.

Now the 10k tournament is cancelled lol.

I had this same thing happen to me at probably the same time.

Was in a $100 hu sng and it just disappeared. Checked the SNG lobby to try to reopen the table but i couldnt find any $100 sng running. Others still were tho. odd. Didn't get my $100 back yet either. shot support an email.

If this is truly a beta launch, then it should have been a closed beta and not open to the public. Please take down the sign on the Wild Wild West Days Inn that says, "Online Poker is Back! Ultimatepoker.com. Details inside". That is not consistent with a 30 day trial or some beta test. Sales, marketing, and management were clearly ahead of the development of the software.

From what I understand... the second and even third sites to launch in Nevada are not that far away. I was told by someone in the know it is only weeks away for one major site to launch about 10 days ago. There will be strong competition soon. UP was rushed to beat the others to get the first ever award and all the free media blitz that comes along before it was ready. Sure I am excited to see progress in online poker, but I can still call a spade a spade.

I will try to sign up for any site that launches and support them all. I was celebrating with the news. After a dozen emails and hours of time, I'm not as excited anymore. How could I be? Keep in mind, they are a for-profit company and not just here to help us out. There is a market for online poker and someone will bring a quality product to capitalize on it. I wish UP the best, but I personally am tired of monkeying around with it and don't feel support knows how to get this to work for me. One response I got was to just try to login at various times of the day and maybe it would work. No sh*t! I am not complaining about font sizes or cash games only being 50 BBs (just adjust) or no remember my passcode option, etc., I am saying support is extremely slow and the site was not ready for even an open to the public "beta" launch.

. have a semi live quasi tournament there every weekend and offer promotions and free snacks or food. it would rock for the nfl season.
.just set up cubicles with a computer monitor in it and those nice cushy office chairs..sort of like the horse race/sportbooks around vegas
Let me be at least the 2nd person to say this is a great idea!

Good to hear it sounds like it was a glitch and not just "Well.... we probably won't get enough people to register to cover the guarantee, so let's just shut it down! (Looking at you, Lock.)

Well, that's really good to hear then! Last I checked it had 77 entrants.

If it was actually "cancelled" though, I'm assuming that means that refunds were issued to every player that had registered for it, so if they re-open the tournament lobby, it's not like they can just re-register everyone for it without their permission, so I imagine the "quality" of the players that will be registered for it might take a hit courtesy of this, uh, unexpected event..

prolly cancelled it because they had less than 50 people, not good in a business sense for a massive GTD tourney

There were 74 last I checked. When I went back to register it was gone.
