I would avoid Lock.

A little birdy has told me that they are no longer processing cashouts / They're going busto.

Anonymous tables are a horrendous idea and I seriously hope that your site does not implement this. We need to remember that a huge element of online poker is the fun aspect. Even though we are sitting behind computers the use of screen names allows us to have social interactions with other players. For the majority of players it's not just about mindlessly grinding 10 tables for hours on end.

Poker itself is all about learning how a certain player plays and using that information to gain an advantage. That's not a bad thing and it doesn't necessarily mean that bad players will be slaughtered by the regs. You can allow things like periodic screen name changes. You can bad Sharkscope access. You can make datamining more difficult by only offering hand histories on request. Turning everybody into Player1, Player2, etc does far more damage than good.
Anonymous tables arent a bad thing. I play at Bovada and its not hard to get reads in game on players. Do you or have you ever played on Bovada? I play HU, FR, and Stud at the same time and have no problem getting reads. And its the most fun i've had playing online since FTP and Stars left the US while getting money. If you want to be social, try typing in the chat box. Screen names have little to do with being social.

Lastly, people be reasonable! I would gladly wait a day or two to get verified rather than play on sites like Lock or wait 2 months on Carbon for a payout. Stop being such babies and suck it up.

Anybody think these small time incompetents, using part of UltimateBet, could actually compete against Poker Stars? That 'bad actor' clause finally reveals its purpose.

Anybody think Poker Stars should be considered a bad actor?

Can't wait until this outfit vanishes.

It's only the first day and some people expect this site to be one that's as good as Stars. Patience and it will happen one day at a time.

@ Dax_ Any plans to expand walk in deposit outlets in Reno area? Or are there any already?

You are the silly one. You going to a casino does not ensure that you're in Nevada an hour later or days later when you're attempting to play.

A land line telephone will not verify you are physically in Nevada every time you play. Why is that so hard to understand?

There was one over $1k earlier at $3/$6 between GODFATHER and BillBraski. From what I remember it was fd+overcards vs. pair.
Pretty big though considering the 50bb buy-in.

Might be mistaken for another all-in pot though.

How many players are currently playing at 8:26pm?

See Pokerstars, undeniably the toughest site on the internet. Not an issue for day 1 of release, but hopefully this is being considered once you do start to finalize your VIP program. Alright, you can go back to answering more pressing concerns at the moment.
Instead of a traditional VIP program, how about a free (non-raked) bad beat jackpot (BBJ) The jackpot should be paid down to every player playing the same stakes when the jackpot hit.

Recreation players love the BBJ. Regulars can't complain if there is no additional rake. The higher stakes you play the larger you share will be when the jackpot hits at your level. The more you play the more likely you will get a share.

I did not realize there is a rep in this thread - wish I had known that earlier. I have had a pretty bad experience that I hope you can clear up.

I created an account right at launch at 12:30am. Everything went fine and a few hours later I went to Red Rock and made a cash deposit. I then tried to register for the Sunday tournament and it would not let me. I emailed support and after a few back and forths I was told that Virgin Mobile (who is really Sprint) is not supported for SMS location. That seems a bit odd since Sprint is specifically named as an accepted carrier. While all this is going on I am logging into Sports Connection on the same phone so obviously there is some way to verify my location.

I went back to Red Rock and they could not give me my cash back. They said I would have to wait until the site went live and request it there. I tried to request the cashout after it was live and the same technology is required to cashout as it is to play. Since Virgin is not supported I cannot cash out. I'm now going back and forth with support again to resolve this.

My first thought is that you need to let players know that Virgin Mobile is not supported on the same screen Verizon is mentioned, especially now that it is clear once you deposit money and cannot get verified the money gets locked up.

Also, it seems players need to be verified before depositing if it is going to create this hassle. I have several hours of wasted time going to Red Rock twice (eventually three times to get money) and about 10 support emails.

It was really frustrating for your company to accept my cash, not let me play, now hold it and create even more of a waste of time for me while we figure out how to get it. It is also frustrating that I was physically at your casino cage twice within a few hours but your software couldn't verify my location. It seems there needs to be some common sense here, not to mention Sports Connection has no issues locating my phone in Nevada.

It would seem there is alternative technology out there. Is there any thought of using it to avoid these issues? Also, how do I get my cash back?

I stopped playing on Bovada as soon as they went to anonymous tables. That should tell you where I stand on the issue.

Look at all the buzz that was created around Full Tilt back in the day when the huge games would run with all the big name players. Do you think that would have been nearly as interesting to watch if it had been Player234, Player5526, Player 91414, etc instead of durrr, Phil Ivey, and Zigmund? Now I'm not saying that railbirds make money for a site by observing tables, but certainly there is a chance that a railbird who is entertained by watching games will eventually turn into a depositing player.

Can confirm. Never knew anyone who played poker, never knew how to play. One day was flipping through channels at the age of 15 or 16, saw some tournament called "world series of poker main event" on ESPN. Saw there was an $8 million dollar prize for first place. Jaw dropped. Saw ad for Full Tilt. Downloaded client, watched games and played play money and an occasional freeroll.

Fast forward to the end of 2009, saw crazy high stakes action from some guy named Isildur1. Literal million dollar pots were being pushed around. Started playing freerolls, won a couple dollars, ran it up. Busto. Won some more freeroll dollars. Ran em up. Busto. Learned BRM, turned 18. Deposited on Full Tilt and Pokerstars, ran it up, Black Friday.

So yeah, would have never deposited onto site with anonymous players. Probably would have just thought that they weren't real and were just for show.

vmplayer is free, virtualbox is free. Use those to if you're going to play on a mac.

What's the process when making a deposit at the cage?
Does it have to be the main cage or will they be able to do it at the poker cage?

Hopefully I don't have to tell the cage employee my username? Or will my email be okay instead?
