Chris, what is the procedure if you guys think you've identified a botter? Do you file a full report and send to NGC for review?

Also, come back to IRC sometime when you are less busy.

LOL

Dax your life is going to be hell for the near future. Especially during the WSOP.

Patience guys. Customer support is getting slammed. And as more people find out, its a madhouse and getting worse by the second.

When I try and create an account I'm getting this error code page. (Forbidden 403 CSRF verification failed. Request aborted). I live in Sparks NV so I shouldn't have any verfication issues. please help

----I hope you let us drag/enlarge the table size DEX...it's too small----

Alright, now I'm disappointed.

I just switched over from Ubuntu to Windows (groan) to download the client and reserve a screen name (no, not debacle) and, after entering in my birthdate, received the message:

You must be 21 years or older to play.

Are you freaking kiddinggggggggg me?
In Oregon, being 18 was always enough to make playing online and in card rooms okay. The only time it ever wasn't okay was if the cardroom had a beer & liquor license, in which case the minimum age required to enter the room was 21.

So, needless to say, I'm a bit confused. Ultimate Poker does not offer alcohol, and as far as I know, the whole, "you're an adult when you are 18" thing is the same in Nevada as it is in Oregon. I understand not being able to go into casinos, but why should I be unable to play online poker until I turn 21?

Is this part of NGC regs?

I mean, thankfully, in my case, I'll be 21 in October, but still...

This.
And have a little patience with getting the bugs worked out. This is a multi-billion dollar Nevada regulated business. They will respond to their customers. It just takes some time. Do people here remember what internet poker was like pre-Party and Stars?

Report bugs and let them work.

Lol. 21 by statute. And they take that **** seriously.

Figure it'll get sorted sometime soon by this site or another, but 50bb tables are bs. Figure it'll be a month or two of no competition before someone comes in and forces normality into Nevada online poker.

Thanks. Traffic appears to be quiet so far, but we've got several tables going from 3/6 NL (3 tables) down to cheeseburgers (6 tables of .5/1). Lots of HU $10 SNGs, and $5 full ring SNGs.

Tons of overlay on the Sunday 10k so far. Only 6 people registered. Winning the first Sunday 10k would be kinda cool. We already got in touch with the first sng winner from this morning. I'm not sure what marketing has planned for him, but hopefully it's something sweet.

Also, it would be cool if a "Players online now: #{num}" feature was implemented in the permanently-visible part of the client.

I live 10 minutes down Charleston from where your Nevada license is registered to, can I come down to the office and have someone look at my ID? No seriously, can I?
Yeah, really sorry about that. Things are super swamped right now.

The idverification address should work now. I just had our IT guy add it an hour or two ago.

The license is actually registered to the red rock address at Charleston - our actual office is closer to Wild Wild West (central vegas - tropicana & las vegas or so).

I don't think we're really well equipped to do in-person verification, but honestly, at some point, we might be able to. Just be patient with us for another day or so until we chug through all the registration emails. I promise we'll get there.

I'm gonna be answering some emails myself. There might be some hurring and durring in there, but I'll do the best I can.

Ah, shame! Thanks for answering. Guess I'll just stick with Oregon's cardrooms for now....

That is until they get shut down, which looks likely..

I haven't heard about this one today. I know that this is asking a lot, but could you take a screen cap of that and send it to support? I think that Sparks should be fine, as long as you're not within about 5 miles of the border.

Would you rather a site that lets you win but not cash out?

A VPN is just a way to mask your IP address to others on the internet, usually through a paid service, although you can set up your own as well.

In the rest of the world, a VPN is used by companies internally to keep their traffic more secure and let you log in from home to check email. And you can use a VPN service at home if you want to have a little more privacy when you are on the internet, and to keep everyone from knowing your location. Again, if you value your privacy there are very valid (non-illegal) reasons to have a VPN.

In the poker world VPN's are often used to mask your IP so that if you are in the US you can play on sites which don't allow US gaming. It sounds like UP is taking an understandably hard-line stance and not allowing VPN's at all because it's hard to detect legitimate IP masking from illegitimate. And they're requiring cell-based location checks. So they're definitely going the extra mile to make sure players are IN Nevada when they're playing, which are the hoops they currently have to jump through in the US poker climate. Even on Stars if I want to play with a legit VPN in Canada it's a hassle. So yeah bottom line if you play poker, VPN = bad...

someone please answer this. Why are you using the software of someone who was interconnected with UB? Saying you have no connection to UB but you're using the software that the people behind UB made isn't a solid answer.

I see what you see, so there's not too much I can tell you aside from noting which games have been actually running during the day. I would say that a lot of people have had trouble actually getting up and running (which to some extent, we expected - we just didn't know the response would be so huge and the volume of support requests so large).

I agree with you - we're stoked about poker coming back to the USA. You can see from my join date that I've enjoyed the game for quite some time. Being able to enjoy the game I love in the country I love is a really big deal.

Wow it's amazing you have that many games going already. It looks like you are going to make a ton of dough. Congrats. Sorry for being rude with my previous post. I am just insane and obsessive about the success of online poker. Your site and the outcome of it is pretty important.
04-30-2013 , 08:28 PM
I've gotten this question via PM a little bit, but thought I'd answer it here so others know. We do not allow you to deposit if you haven't verified your mobile phone because Nevada regulations require "multi factor authentication" (MFA) to cash out. MFA means both "something you know" and "something you have".

The something you have in this case is your phone. When you cash out, we send a pin to your phone that you must enter into the software in order to complete the cashout. Nevada has this regulation so theoretically if someone steals your laptop (or account password), they cannot cash out on your behalf. Dumping the chips to a confederate is also fairly easy for us to see, and *that* money needs to get off the site somehow as well.

If we don't know your phone number (or it's not verified), we can't knowingly send it a pin and know that it's going to get to you.

One of the things that we make an effort to stress is that it's technically safer to play online against cheaters than live. Once those cards go into the muck in a live casino, they're gone forever (unless you can spot a hanger, sarge). When you play online, we can look up what happened, forever.
