+1 to the ranks of the confused...

I deposited today assuming I would qualify as I did for the LAST $50/100 raked hands promotion...

Definitely feel bait and switched, ah well... Hopefully will cash big in the Lucky 7 freerolls.

I'm not sure if affiliate bonuses/rakeback are a thing with NV poker, but I'm closely keeping my eyes and ears open for information on this.
I saw something in the minutes of the NGCB last time that made me suspct that affiliates will have to be licensed with the state as well.

Include me in the P#SSED OFF crowd. I deposited $50.00 as soon as I found out about the bonus. Now I found out it is BS. The old bait and switch is not going to be a successful move for UP. Somebody from UP better take care of this in a responsible way A.S.A.P. or it will leave a very bitter taste in the mouth of many. The cost in customer loyalty may well exceed the cost of honoring the original email which I like many others still have.

Affiliates must be licensed in NV. NJ is the same way.

Okay guys, here's what we'll do. If you made a qualifying ($50 or more) deposit during the timeframe that the previous verbiage was up on our website, e-mail playercare@ultimatepoker.com and we'll manually adjust your account if you play the 100 raked hands in the qualifying period.

If you e-mail us and I find out your deposit was made after we changed the webpage to the current verbiage, I might close your account for fun, just because I'm that spiteful.

Ok great but I just read the web page and was out and about and in the afternoon I went to casino and deposited, I have no idea if you had already changed it at that point yesterday afternoon.

I made my deposit first thing this morning...I assumed what I saw yesterday wouldn't have magically changed overnight as it hasn't any other time a bonus was posted.....

I don't think you realize how absolutely terrible this comes off as a supposedly professional representative of a business.

It is particularly, and I mean absolutely revoltingly VILE because UP is the one swindling the customer here. I was very excited about this deposit bonus and was going to deposit and play, but now I find out that not only has UP pulled the rug out from under me, but if I make an mistake you are clearly threatening to close my account?

WHAT?

I'm flabbergasted.

He probably assumed that people in a 2+2 forum get jokes, particularly when accompanied by a smiley.

I have no idea whether the language on the website was changed before or after I made my deposit.

I actually never looked at the website, I learned about the promotion on this forum and assumed it was identical to the two previous deposit promotions of $25 and $50.

I also learned that it only applied to first-time depositors on this forum after I had made my deposit yesterday afternoon.

Can you post the date and time the language on the website was changed so I can email or not as appropriate?

I've been on since week one - still have faith that "founding" customers won't be penalized.

Overall very happy with promos received relative to rake paid. Winning a staycation and 200k boarding pass points helped a lot!

The whole thing just makes me feel bad... Don't want to be made to feel like I'm taking some sort of shot by emailing.

Whatever...

Don't worry, I don't think you or anyone else is actually taking a shot. This is a valid point (that you only read about the promo on 2+2), and it goes to why we obviously can't honour promotions on any site other than our own.

Now, not addressing the above post but speaking more generally:

One of the key things people are missing here is that while the page listing the promotion did have the old text, the homepage always said what it says right now, which is "MAKE YOUR FIRST DEPOSIT!" in huge high-contrast font. That page never changed. Additionally, it was only possible to get to the promo page via the home page; it was not linked to anywhere else. So in order to have been so misled by our verbiage, a person would have had to have completely missed the huge "MAKE YOUR FIRST DEPOSIT" message and noticed the relatively small "minimum $50 message" posted earlier in this thread.

The exception, of course, is if you only read about the promotion because it was copy/pasted on to 2+2 without a URL.

Look - for sure, we made a mistake in not being clear what "new" meant in the context of "new deposit bonus" on the secondary promo page. And that's what we're trying to rectify now. But for people to still come on and say that they have suffered this tremendous hardship and injustice because they acted on this -- even after I've said we'll honour the deposits made when the previous information was online -- come on. I think if you look at this objectively we've gone above and beyond here. We're trying to get new players who have heard about us and maybe created accounts who haven't deposited yet, to do so. I think we can agree that's best for everyone. It's not like we're not also taking care of the regs and grinders around here, as evidenced by the two previous bonuses we've run. I'm sorry but the idea that we intentionally put out a misleading promotion designed to trick people into depositing $50 is nuts.

I am not sure who said they suffered a hardship or injustice but....if you are going to say you will honor deposits made "when the previous information was online" it might help to tell us exactly when that was so nobody waste there time emailing support if they don't qualify...already wasted my time making an unnecessary deposit for a phantom bonus.....

The easiest and most appropriate way to handle this is anyone who knows about this and deposited before midnight last night and plays the 100 hands gets credit.

A lot of rustled jimmies over 50 bucks itt

Give 'em the pickle !!!

Everyone working for UP, especially the customer service people need to learn a thing or three about customer service. The deposit bonus situation should have been solved in 5 seconds flat.

Give 'em the pickle...

Never thought this or suggested it - no fears, I'm a UP fan!

Thanks for the response.

It was an emotional roller coaster for me personally because while dropping by Wildfire to make my $50 deposit, I decided I was hungry and ordered a crispy chicken sandwich at the bar (which was delicious) and dropped $100 at video poker which I justified to myself on the rationale that I was getting $50 back through the promo and dejectedly came home to discover that wasn't the case.

el oh el on me.

I'm happy to concede that I am not a first time depositor and accordingly not qualified for the $50 bonus - no big deal.

Looking forward to the immanent release of v2, the Lucky 7 freerolls this weekend as well as the next Million Dollar Summer promotion which I DO qualify for.

Could someone please post the current hand number they are on so I can see how close to 9,900,000.
Thanks.

About 26k hands to go.

I like how FIRST is all caps in your facebook page

I hate to do such a terrible comparison... BUT

Full Tilt had a $600 first time deposit bonus full time. Those little $50 bonuses should be reload bonuses

A few suggestions.

The email address to send ID verification to needs to be much more visible. I couldn't find it anywhere on the website, and finally had to come to this thread to find it.

Make it clear when signing up that you want your players to enter their permanent address, even if that is outside of Nevada. I figured you wanted my address in Nevada, so I entered that, but my permanent address is what is on the ID I sent in. Now I am left hoping that support can simply update my information, but fear I will need to make another trip to Kinkos because it wasn't clear when I created my account.

You need a respectable deposit bonus. 100% up to $600 with a reasonable play-through should be the bare minimum. It really should be 100% up to $2000. Hell, it should be 100% with no cap. You do want people to deposit large amounts of money, don't you?
