Nice! Thank you. I'll assume your i7 is a quad, since I think most of them are. I'm now seriously considering getting a new computer just so I can mtt more effectively on UP. Even just 6 tables becomes utter chaos with my current dual core. I saw one other person on here mention they have barely any lag issues using a quad core. I know UP says they're coming out with an update "soon," but that could still be a month or two away for all we know. I'm hoping in the mean time the extra tables will allow me to recover at least part of the cost of the comp!

We do but don't want to share the info publicly.

could be any time... they bumped that 10/20 game very quickly after folks started complaining.

No need for anyone to replace them, CAMS LLC already does what Iovation did. From how I understand it, they were using Iovation for their "speed/extensive database/software".

From Yahoo: CAMS is a multi-tenant Software as a Service (SaaS) solution powered by Verifi, Inc. offering gambling operators the ability to collect and manage player information, assists with monitoring and complying with regulation policies, facilitates player account limit disbursement and payout management and taxation all within a white label solution customizable for each site.

What the H--- is wrong with UP and thier location verification system. For 3 weeks I have no problems. I set at the same desk with same verizon cell phone the same desk top comp. Everything is the same nothing ever changes except some days I can log in and other days you can't verify my location. I turn my phone off and then back on nothing works, If you can't fix the problem please let me know, I will cash out and wait for the next online poker room.

Yeah, I've been verified without issue since launch and now I get:

Account Status: Unable to Verify Location right after they upgrade their location service.

Hmm

I guess something went wrong. Can we get a response on this Scott or Dax?

UP has only 2 10/25 games running when you normally have 5-7 this time of day.

Please take a moment to let us know what is going on.

Thank you

I was playing fine all day then took a 30 min break and haven't been able to verify since. Turned wifi on and off on phone restarted a few times it and computer and nothing working.

I called in to Ultimate Poker Support and been on hold 12 minutes now. UP loops the same 3 sentence blurb over and over and over again. So tilting. I would change that ASAP for a better customer experience.

Also, does anyone think I'll receive a human being to speak with before 1 hour?

Last night Locaid rolled out a release which has impacted location verification. We are seeing a tremendous number of timeouts (>60% of all attempts). They, Locaid, plan to do a rollback in the next 10 - 30 mins and there will be addition impact to production location checks during this rollback. After the rollback, service should be restored to pre-release throughput.

This came across my desk 15 minutes ago.

Thank you Scotty, great response time. I'll check back in an hour.

Here's a link with-out a Paywall. I would assume UP/WSOP.com/Et al are chopping at the bit for any possible compacts to go through & be approved.

LBS now working for me.

To figure out if LBS is down & not a bug that is just affecting you: Texting YES to UPOKER will give you an auto-response of "Unable to process your command" when the service is not working.

Customer service is stellar and this site is an excellent and refreshing return to online poker.

This appears to not be accurate.

I texted YES to UPOKER and received the affirmative response to go ahead and play and that I was all set to "Login and Play."

I login and receive Account Status: Unable to Verify Location.

Any word on this UP?

i would think party poker would be available.
they got out in 2006 and aren't in the "bad actor" hemisphere like pokerstars is.
if they compacted with them, that would be huge
06-06-2013 , 09:21 PM
I was able to log on without a problem....One thing I have noticed is that if I have less than 3 bars on my phone (the bars that indicate signal strength) then I will get the unable to verify location error...If I simply move my phone to get more bars I get logged in without a hitch every time...
06-06-2013 , 09:31 PM
Full Bars, tried a different phone with full bars too. Nothing works. Currently on hold for a player care representative.

Good point. Maybe deserving of it's own thread? Speculation and all.

Ok, got through to UP customer support within 10 minutes this time (gave up after over 20 min last time).

The rep was knowledgeable and helpful, although we were unable to resolve the issue, we did seem to pinpoint it as a funky IP from Cox Cable. Basically UP is unable to identify my current IP address as within Nevada.

So, now I'm on hold with Cox with instructions from UP to ask them to reroute my IP within Nevada.
06-06-2013 , 10:48 PM
I am verified! Again.

A big thanks to Ted at Station Casino Support for working through all the issues and coming up with a resolution.

Here is the full version of the steps I had to take in case anyone else needs to trouble shoot.

There are two main ways that UP geolocates you. The first is IP address and the second is through cell phone geolocation. Finally you need to give the UP client permission to geolocate your phone.

I had issues with both which is what made this such a nightmare to figure out.

IP address: Sometimes your ISP will route your IP through a different state. In my case, we never did figure out exactly what the issue was, other than UP was not able to identify my IP as being within the state of Nevada.

Cox is my ISP. They are unable to change your IP for you, but I was told that they are changed randomly, usually daily. I do have my doubts as to the accuracy of this information. And as such took it on myself to restart my computer and modem and voila, I received a new IP. Basically, Cox was no help.

mychicken.com
whatismyipaddress.com

These are two sites that you can use to geolocate your IP right through your browser. The sites will pull your location up on a map and everything. The second IP address was indeed located in Las Vegas, as it should be and Ted was able to confirm this on his end.

Phase 1 Complete.

Phone Geolocation: Again, we were simply not able to identify exactly what was causing the issue, but we were able to fix it by meticulously making sure every possible issue was covered.

For Samsung Galaxy S3 users make sure:

GPS is on, Wifi is off, airplane mode and driving mode are off.

Under more settings, mobile networks, Network mode - choose WCDMA only. This will put you on a 4G network and gives you the best shot (my opinion). Rotating through your options here if 4G is not working may be a solution for others in different areas of Nevada.

Under Location Services, check Use wireless networks, Use GPS satellites and Location and Google search. All three checked? Good.

Then, just as I did with the IP address, I was able to check my phone geolocation by going to google maps app and opening it (per Ted's suggestion - thanks Ted!). After about 15s or so it should pinpoint your location nearly exactly.

You can also reboot your phone if you run into any issues here.

The last step is to make sure the UP client has been given permission to Geolocate your phone. Do this by texting YES to 876537 (caps not necessary).

TLDR;

1) Make sure IP is in Nevada.
2) Make sure Phone is in Nevada.
3) Make sure IP Client has permission to Geolocate Phone.
4) ....
5) Profit.

I sincerely hope 1 person can benefit from this post and does not have to waste the hours I did today.
