Scotty, occasionally I see players who have an asterisk right above the decimal point in their money on the table. Is there a meaning to this?

The Rant... Comments & Issues

I had posted my own thread talking about the 1k Nightly that was closed by a moderator because there was already a UP support thread. Long story short I had over 9k left made the money.... flopped a set of 4's with multi action kept my 44 face up clicked all in 6 times and in the mean time I literally watched the action go around the table still had my bet & hand face up but was never processed by the server I made a move but in fact according to their records I just timed out yet I still watched everything in real time with my set face up. The dealer box said I timed out. It then shipped the pot to a guy on my left and mucked his cards. We went into break right after the hand. It still had my bet & cards face up 2.5 mins into the break and the guy who lost the hand left his cards face down. So my action never counted and it threw my whole game off but that's not their fault (but the fact the software faulted is). The reason I'm posting this is because my other tables worked just fine at the same very moment I had to take pics just to send in.... I did start ranting and raving with customer service in e-mail & "I apologize". I shouldn't have and they did credit me with the buy-in for the tourney. A good analogy would be if you were at the final two tables flopped a set of fours in mid position said all in 6 times (would have won been 5th in chips and 1rst was $1300) left my hand face up passed me by as if I wasn't there, watch the big pot get shipped to my left & left my bet and my cards face up and the losers hand face down 2.5 into the break right after the hand. My point is this I keep being told it's on my end, doubt it if it was my other table would of had the same problems and it was only on this table with this hand that mattered the most... there went my tourney when I dumped the rest of my chips upset right after the break & raised blinds. (while no lag on my system 50mb internet & dual processor with windows 7) Least to say even tho' my tourney entry was credited back I'm not happy about this situation because I know my system is not faulty nor is my 50mb connection. They say the case is still open and originally called it and I quote "Graphical Error" but I think people need to be aware this because it's not the first time it has happened nor is it the second. I was in a all in situation in a cash game and got completely kicked off the table with no reaction or recoil at all. It's very upsetting. I'm posting this rant if you care to further investigate I suggest reading the comments at the bottom of this article.

This was the original response...

Even though the table displayed your bet as having processed, I suspect this was a graphics glitch as your bet never went through. Here is the hand history:

This was their last response after customer service was done listening to me rant...

I am trying to work with you but I feel like you are not understanding my explanations of the issue or our policies, or even my intentions.

I fully intend to credit your account an amount yet to be determined as a result of this incident have intended to do so since my first e-mail to you. I haven't done so yet because I do not have all the information.
I have not "ruled" on anything. As I said before, I do not consider this issue closed and I would like your cooperation so we can continue.
My priority in this and similar situations is to do three things: assess the situation for an appropriate refund; collect any information our technical staff might need to understand the malfunction; and if applicable, troubleshoot with the player on how this problem can be minimized or avoided in future.
I really do want to assist you but you have prioritized ranting and making threats over discussing this with me so we can move forward. Now you are demanding a resolution in three hours despite not even giving me a chance to collect information and investigate. This makes it even more difficult for me to find a fair result.

I have credited your account $50. This is the buy-in for the tournament in question. I still do not consider this matter closed. I suspect that, given all the information, I may elect to issue your account another credit. I would very much like it if you could allow me the opportunity to discuss this with you so I may accomplish the three items I mentioned above, but I would need you to trust that we are not adversaries, answer my questions, and try to refrain from making threats, jumping to conclusions, or setting ultimatums and deadlines. Otherwise if you are satisfied with the $50 and would prefer not to discuss this anymore, then that is up to you.

yeah I dont think we can count on it coming before then either.
I have come to the conclusion NOT to anticipate any great breaking developments until later in the summer.
This has been such along wait since south point first announced the oct 1 launch and then delay after delay..now we get live poker and it still
isn't the one we have been waiting for.
so, screw it...
im not planning my trip out there until the end of summer or until I hear that the comp system is up with the 2.0 version.
as far as the comps, the only thing we have been told
is there will be a VIP store..
I hope to god this is not another stalling tactic and that they WILL
offer rooms and food for points as we have all been hearing for months..
that's all I ask..

Scotty once then VIP system is introduced. You said we will be credited for the time we've played?

Anyone have success in the South Lake tahoe area getting an account active and in use? If so, how far away/up the hill are you?

July 30th. Version 2

I am on windows 8 on a newer operating system...My computer is completely smooth of errors. About 6 other poker sites have ran 100% perfectly for more than 6 months. Have played thousands of hands mostly 3/6 and I am one of the top rakers on the site - including being part of the VIP club.
The reason I was in this game was because of Randy Dandy ironically the site pro but yes he doesn't seem to care about these limits it seems and hes one of the ones im up the most money on. ( you can check your database to confirm) Also CK is a very inexperienced reg in my opinion. I will no longer play on this site even when version 2.0 comes out if this is not resolved. All action froze and I did not see the action nor the results of the hand and I don't want to know.

I would like a $372 credit (the $108 in the middle and a double up of my stack) I think this is more than fair as it could of easily been a triple up given the players. Upon a quick search I have found this has happened to others as well but they were not as affected as me and did not make a big deal of it as they were not involved in a major hand. Also I should note when I returned to the table after re-starting the client I typed "Randy we have a huge problem" He immediately left the table. Even though it's obvious he had no idea I still think its funny it happened against the site pro.

I should also note even if the players come fourth and say what they had it is irrelevant as they are more than capable of running large bluffs and have in the past and I have a history of playing very aggressive.

Of course you should be credited your portion of the $108. Maybe something more for your trouble. Also, that pro should have repped the site and had a chat with you.
However, I find it hilarious that you're asking for a "double up" of your stack. None of us can see the future...right?

The reality is that Randy Dandy hit his flush on the river. Given your reasoning please to be shipping the rest of your stack to him. It is only fair.

Sick level Mr. 2 posts...I want to make it very clear I will never play another hand on UP if I am not compensated at least what I have asked for and will let other high volume players outside of Nevada kno to never play on this site that have been on the verge of making the move or already out here wondering to just wait for wsop.com to deposit or not. I am sorry for bringing this to light so fast but others have said it's happened to them and nothing has been done about it...Just wait until you are in a huge hand...you will be FURIOUS like I am!

Well, we can't all have 22 posts.

Site needs disconnect protection, as well as a host of other things. Hopefully, we get them in version 2.
