Dax - 100bb tables are a priority for damn near everyone posting here, and absolutely for anyone who puts in real hours on the tables and makes a profit. Fish buy in for 30bb-50bbs all the time, I'd say it's something like a 3-1 ratio. Making the tables 50bbs doesn't help half as much as it hurts the business. Personally, if in a few weeks the tables were 100bb and you had action that suggested the site is viable professionally then I'd move from Michigan to Vegas damn quick.

I technically haven't played the 1st hand yet but I finally was able to get location verified using a public wifi and my iphone with LTE turned off.

I then went to deposit and since I really want to be able to play with my hotspot in my hotel room instead of relying on wifi and having to pay a lot of times, I bought the phone you suggested so I got text with new phone and replied but when I log in it won't verify location again(I'm using iPhone hotspot tho)

So I should be able to use the out of room free wifi or pay for in room wifi and it work but want the hotspot issue confirmed or fixed if possible.

If for some reason your IP appears from out of state, or the cell tower triangulation check is failing then you obviously wont get on.

But UP has no visibility into where your phone is from, and they dont really give a crap where your phone is from. They only care about where you are now.
I'm on the phone with att and apple simultaneously and can't get an answer as to where ip is being issued. lol

Based on 2 days of playing....

-Speed of the software
-Lack of Omaha
-Waiting list for tables

are the three biggest complaints.

Pretty impressed with the number of players. There were cash games spread even as I woke up this morning at 6am Nevada time.

Hey Dax I live in Henderson and my girlfriend was able to setup her account no problem but I am stuck on

Account Status: Unable to Verify Nevada Location

I have the same phone (At&t) and did everything the same as her but it will not Verify me. I sent email yesterday afternoon to support and no response. Would I be able to just drive to Green Valley Ranch or another Station Casino and verify in person since I have Nevada ID, Proof of bills etc.?

Thanks in advance

Go to this site: http://whatismyipaddress.com/

Will tell you your IP and the geo location it appears to come from.

No, you need to verify you're in Nevada every time you log in AND at random times throughout being logged in. Going to a casino won't help.

how does this work for other states like california? in the future, if cali wants to merge/join into the ultimate playebase. any plans for other states that want to opt in? how long would something like that take? cali and nevada are frickin neighbors !

Update on my situation!

My account is now active.... and all it took was moving my location about 8 miles southwest.

I did nothing different, just tried logging in again once I got back home from the office.

I really think there is something to this Verizon Towers being used by AT&T theory. I'm assuming this is why I can all of a sudden log on without any issues.

So if you are having the same issue as I was, AT&T but still not Nevada verified, try driving somewhere else.

How many threads in the past ten years are there of people who have cashouts stuck in cashout purgatory?

We can still mail you a check (if that's what you prefer, or aren't in Vegas currently), but we think that the whole "drive down the street and get money" is pretty sweet.
Fair enough. I'm sure most would prefer some kind of e-transfer to all of the above though. And hopefully things getting stuck in the hands of payment processors is no longer an issue in the legally sanctioned era of online poker.

Anyway, I don't want to come off as a complainer. Bravo for getting the site up and running, which so far no one else has managed to do.

what most of us do, to avoid these fees, are to pay like $80-90 a month for a modem u put in ur laptop, this enables u to use the internet outside and don't need to be around a phone to do it. u have way more money than me, odd I am doing this, and u aren't. the goldstrike here in Jean would cost $49 a week for the hotels wireless.

as of 4:45PST today

not pictured is 2 microstake games that are full. so 14 full games on day 2.

kind of impressive?

don't really have a benchmark to judge it, but i was afraid the place would be a ghost town, and it is most definitely not aorn.

That's awesome news! If the Verizon tower theory proves to be true, it would seem like VZW was trying to shakedown UP for a cut. Just a conspiracy theory but I find it odd that they aren't willing to play ball like the others.

actually, the biggest complaints are how about 90% of the people in vegas trying to log on are being told they aren't in NV and cant play. hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Ok, update. I went to to the free wifi and location worked with new phone and I'm playing.
So it's a hotspot issue 100%. Anyone using a hotspot could have problems.

PM me your email address and I'll have a peek at it. I couldn't see if you PM'd me already or if you posted it in the thread somewhere.

And sorry man, you're really trying! I wish there were some sort of award I could give out for "best customer effort".
Dax,

Can you give a technical explanation why using a landline and Las Vegas IP address desktop won't work?

Also, will MagicJack work?

They HAVE to verify you are currently in Nevada to the best of their ability. Your landline phone is meaningless to you actually being physically located in Nevada.

Edit: They have to do this EVERY time you log in AND while you play. This should help you see why a phone line is meaningless. It doesn't prove your current location.

just got this email 10 min ago, about 24 hours after first replying. seems they accepted my state of Louisiana ID. now as soon as im done posting this, im going to try and login and pray it works. I got the phone verified, and I use Tmobile so I had the right carrier. But the 2nd time I tried to login, to see if they had verified my docs without emailing to tell me, they said my location wasn't verified that time. praying today it will show as verified once again so I can deposit thru Echecks.

Hi Tony,

Thank you for sending in your Driver's License so that we can verify your Age & ID. Please log back in to Ultimate Poker and in the ensuing pop-up, click Account Status. If everything listed is green then you should be good to go. If any of those items is still red, then let us know so that we can assist you with full verification.

Thanks and we'll see you at the tables!

Andre

I don't know the exact technology UP uses to verify location, but it seems like they determine your approximate location by triangulation with cell towers. Triangulation requires two cell towers being able to approximate your distance from the towers, to determine your coordinates. I'm guessing that having your phone set up as wifi does not affect this, but perhaps your hotel room was too far away to contact two cell towers?
05-01-2013 , 08:21 PM
How will wins and/or cash outs be taxed? Will it be similar to standard casino--anything over 10k in cash gets a 1099? Sorry if posted already
05-01-2013 , 08:24 PM
You can change your phone number by entering your secret question answer on the account info page.
05-01-2013 , 08:25 PM
Sorry for not answering all the questions guys - we're really working hard to try to figure out the SMS thing.

If someone who has not gotten ANY text messages could PM me their user email address, I'd love to give you a call and try some tests.

He's using a different prepaid phone, so that is doubtful to be the issue. I'm guessing the issue is the IP address of his mobile data internet connection appears to be out-of-state.

Sorry if I wans't clear, I was talking about the prepaid phone not being able to connect with multiple cell towers from his hotel room. Also, do the prepaid burners even have data connections? My understanding was triangulation does not require any internet, your phone just needs to be able to send packets to a tower, which it does normally for calls.
