.a ton of them will be from LA and phoenix and drive in to play on the weekends, PLUS all the grinders flying out to check it out.
AND to be perfectly clear, this assuming CET or SOUTHPOINT aren't
up and running before june 15.
if they are, then numbers will drop of course
pokerscout says they had 136 players yesterday
I will assume 250 by tomorrow and 400 by Thursday and an influx of 500
by Monday.
that's 1000 the first week.
if they add MTT and promotion, it is a cakewalk to 2000-2500 signups

I would say
#18 is attainable.
check out www.pokerscout.com

why cant they get 150 new sign ups a day for 60 day, especially around june 1 when the WSOP starts.
.like I said, I will be thrilled if they are at 2500 by june 1
I'm talking about cash game players, not the overall number,if you check pokerscout right now you wil see that Full Tilt has 3000 CASH GAME players on average and 4000 at peak

I think UP just needs a good market share
I don't think trying to overtake pokerstars is an attainable dream

to be perfectly candid, I could give a rats ass if they have 1000 cash players or 3000.
im more interested in the MTTs..
im just forecasting that all they have to do is sign up 150-250 new people very day for 2 months and they will be a viable player

How many people did Stars lose on Black Friday, 65%? Being #1 in the US would be biggest in world. Of course we are talking if UP has worldwide access.

I'm sorry folks, but there will be NO overlay for this Sunday's tournament. That's because there will be way way way more than 100 players.

well,we are talking about apples and oranges.
I NEVER EVER said anything about beating FT or pokerstars
at having cash players..
I am simply talking about UP becoming a viable reliable option for poker players in the U.S....
and it is a moot point sir, you cant play FT or pokerstars in nevada can you....

I don't know what the problem is. I am guessing that the ton of Verizon towers in Las Vegas is causing some phones to be routed thru their towers based on licensing agreements and partnerships with other companies. But that is only a guess. I would be interested to hear if anybody can locate their Verizon phone using the locaid website.

They have my deposit. It cleared my bank account today. I am going to drive to the Target down the street and get a burner phone and see what happens.
Ugh... I just got the support email response and it wasn't helpful at all.

It looks like everything is verified. If you continue to have issues, make sure that your phone is off or that your data is off prior to logging into the system.

Sarah K.

Of course I turn off my cellular data. Of course I tried it with my phone off. Nothing is working.

The worst is the automated message at the top of the email that says...

"Your request (#xxxx) has been solved. To reopen this request, reply to this email:"

lol No, my request has not been solved. I still have the same problem.

I know they are understaffed and completely overworked, but I just wish someone had taken a few extra seconds to actually read about the issues I am having rather than give a blanket response.

The thing is, I really want to play and I don't want to go buy another phone to do so. I think that's pretty reasonable.

I am guessing that I just happen to be in an area where AT&T is using Verizon towers. I'll move to a different location in the valley later and see if that helps at all.

Why not?

Pokerstars despite their current monopoly are losing players year over year. Yet 888 has grown so to say the reason is poker is just not as popular or due to the economy is not the case.
Players are leaving for other reasons. And Ultimate Poker will be able to tap into a vibrant market that Stars (for whatever reason, god knows) has ignored.

you are doing a great job. keep it up.
also I would love to see micro tournies for rooms at station hotels and buffets or shows.
its a slam dunk people will play them, and it increases foot traffic to the brick and morter, which they want.
thanks, tim
best tourney suggestions ive ever seen

they didn't ignore the U.S. market
thy were kicked out by the DOJ and had 300 million seized.
pokerstars is easily the #1 site in the world
hell their france and Italy sites alone are over 100,000 players

So I spend forever at Target because the kid didn't know what he was doing and finally spent the $15 for exact phone that Dax said and it was $25 plan and $15 refills so cost $40.

Change number in profile get the text and send back yes and got confirmed.
Close it all down and reopen it and it won't verify location!
I'm getting pretty pissed. Is there any other tricks I need to know?
I am still using my real phone as hotspot for laptop but that shouldn't matter right, since I have this new phone for verify.

That doesn't sound right at all. Sarah K. tells you to turn your phone "off"? Unless I missed something, she gave bad instructions. Your phone should absolutely be turned on so they can triangulate (I've never used this word so much in a day) your location.

Phone IP addresses are wacky. My phone will consistently show up as not in the same state as I am currently in. Try playing on an actual internet connection in Nevada. Worth a shot.

As much as I love Stars, I wouldn't want to go back with the competition the way it is. If there are softer games, but the same rake, why not play on a site like Ultimate Poker where there's no history involved with the DOJ and follows strict regulations? I just fear recreational players will think of the DOJ and hesitate to join Stars or Full Tilt again. If they do come back, though, then great.

Regardless, I'm excited for what Ultimate Poker can become by the time the WSOP rolls around. Hopefully bugs and kinks get worked out by then. They might not become the #1 site, but I'll remember how excited I was that they were here two years after Black Friday.

Yeah, it seemed like a very weird suggestion, but then I got this in response to response telling her her suggestions didn't work.

Unfortunately there is nothing that I can say to fix this issue other than what I have already told you. I have received numerous messages from people saying that it is not working and then they email me to tell me that it worked. I do apologize sincerely for this inconveinence. I don't think that anyone anticipated this issue with the carriers.

She's super nice and doing the best she can, obviously, but it would really help if someone actually explained the problem and why it was happening. Or, if the Verizon towers on AT&T phones thing is true, tell me to move locations.

I know I can play on a public wifi I tried it earlier, I want to play in my hotel room with my hotspot or anywhere else where there is no free wifi.
According to everyone else this phone was gold.

The early adopters are worth the most to us (especially you guys) as you help us work through the kinks.

Sounds like you did everything right because those very steps worked for me yesterday. I live in Summerlin so I don't know if it's an issue with cell towers in your area or if it's a new technical issue.

how many will play every day is anyones guess but if they can offer MTT for $5 -$10 with 300-500 players that's a good start or
$1-$5 rebuys
hell you only need 300-500 players in a rebuy for a good payout.
look guys,
I will be playing online poker in vegas after may 10 for
probably the rest of my life..for now, all I want is the
ability to play $10-$50 double ups, SNG and play in some
MTTS that are remotely close to pokerstars and party poker.
if they can come close to party poker in 60 days, I will be thrilled, and if CET or someone else has a superior product, I will play them too.
there is a huge market share in Nevada, if you count the weekend tourists. and the California people driving in.
lets play some pokah
