what is up with the 50bb buy in limit on the no limit tables?

Is this going to be raised anytime soon?

This is a complex question that I can't answer completely without giving away our algorithm, but in general, no. There are several criteria to location checks, which include your location (proximity to the border of the state), how often you move more than a few hundred feet (in the past couple of checks AND sessions), and when the last check was.

If you can log in, then I wouldn't worry about it. Don't tether a connection to your cell phone and then drive out of the state either.

Can you provide us with a write up at the end of the day with some numbers, ie: # of sign ups, highest traffic peak, etc?

I appreciate the fact you're in this thread answering everyone's relentless questions.

So, to keep you busy, here's another two:

What sort of VIP/rakeback systems have been discussed by the team? How soon are they coming (Version 3 in two months?)
Will they compare with the benefits currently offered on Pokerstars (e.g. Supernova Elite = $105k - $115k in rakeback)?

Yeah this would be cool, I second this motion.

This needs to exist:

EDIT: Sorry for double post.

Okay, I can accept that UP can not accept Verizon phone numbers. That is out of their control. Frankly, I do not see that issue with Verizon being fixed any time soon. Verizon is not going to bend over backwards to help the "small" guy out in this case.

With that said, I've fired up an old Virgin Mobile phone I have. It runs on the Sprint Network. I drove and parked right next to a Sprint tower to send in my confirmation txt. I texted "Yes" to the number required, and still, no dice. I've emailed support, and I'm still waiting. With that said, with the site being so insistent on validating my location by cell phone, obviously I'm not going to get anywhere. The fact that I can't walk into a Station Casino right now to verify that I am in Nevada is silly.

Very frustrating to have my money sitting in my account, and I can't use it.

I hate to be so negative because this should be an exciting day, but this was just not planned out properly. A notice to users letting them know that if they are on a specific wireless carrier, they cannot play, would have been nice to have seen BEFORE I deposited money. Now I have to wait four business days for my "check" to clear before I can cash out.

Really sorry to have you go through all that. Launching a new site definitely has a lot of moving pieces and trying to bring everything up and online at once is a tricky procedure.

You can still cash out (in the software, without being mobile verified) and get it at the cage. I'll be honest - our support staff are all hands on deck, and they are frazzled as hell. It's a great problem to have - you guys have crushed us with the overwhelming response.

PM me your email address and I'll get your cashout processed ASAP.

We won't have a blog with our details, unfortunately. *glances over his shoulder at the legal department*

Spoiler:
We had at least 1 signup and 1 deposit! ... Ok, that was just rude, wasn't it.

I also can't talk about our VIP program, but I'll just let you know that we've been around the block a few times and we're going to do the best we can to make it awesome. No real dates, either. "When it's done." Or does that only work in the video game community..?

Sorry to be so vague.

two questions.

1). The law in Nevada with regard to cheaters in a casino is very strict. How is this going to work with online play. ie bots, collusion etc. I'd like to see more than just a simple BAN and confiscation of funds. Some sort of legal action....more of a deterrent

2). Will the screen name a person chooses be permanent, or will you allow screen name changes periodically. (For the love of god, don't go anonymous. I'd like to know if bob and bill are always at the same tables colluding against me)

I hope u guyz are the only site up for at least a few months so we can gauge Nevada's player pool. Go UP!

Ban HUDs please, thanks.

*grunch (I assume it's been mentioned a thousand times already)

Sweet name choice.

Congrats on the start . I would like to point out one huge mistake.

How impossible would it have been to have 1 rep from the customer service team at each Station Casino to deal with verification and deposits? Huge mistake as I have seen people turned away already for deposits due to verification problems.

Thanks

there needs to be some sort of information in the tournament lobby about starting stack sizes. in the sunday $10k there is a blind schedule but no further information. also, i can already tell by the blind schedule, that you will not have breaks at :55 past every hour but rather at the end of every 4th blind level. this is an ancient style of break systems that online sites quit doing years ago, and i really hope you are only doing this because you just launched and hoping you do have plans for synch'ed breaks at :55 past the hour?
04-30-2013 , 06:22 PM
As you've said, you have been around the block many times with the VIP program idea, but just want to throw my 2 cents in. There is a reason many "recreational" players don't play online poker anymore, and I believe rewards programs that reward based on volume causes this. See Pokerstars, undeniably the toughest site on the internet. Not an issue for day 1 of release, but hopefully this is being considered once you do start to finalize your VIP program. Alright, you can go back to answering more pressing concerns at the moment.

I keep getting popups where I have to enter in 2 random words. Cant click anything on that table while its up but it keeps timing me down and will fold my hand lol. And to make it worse as I try to type the other tables take control. Happens every 5-10 minutes. Pretty dumb
04-30-2013 , 06:27 PM
Daxon, PLEASE remain active like you are and continue your positive replies. I normally just lurk but have been so impressed by your knowledge and responses that I feel compelled to log in and tell you that.

As a pretty large backer, no p2p transfers is a huge issue. What are your thoughts on this going forward?

Again, please never change. Some people get a good reaction or some power and it changes them after time. If you keep up like this you guys are going to do extremely well imo.

We'll do the best we can to improve this. We have quite a few things that you don't see that help us locate and identify collusion and bots. This aspect clearly doesn't work as smoothly as it should. At a minimum, we can make it so that other tables don't steal the focus as you're trying to type it in.

Wtf is a .msi file?
04-30-2013 , 06:33 PM
I registered, verified text message, deposited by echeck, and now I cannot play because my account status shows NV location not verified.

I have emailed support and have an AT&T phone and am sitting in my Las Vegas home...

As a computer science person, it's my duty to tell you that a programmer can get around captchas very easy

Cheers. I won't be able to do this all the time, but I really wanted to answer as many questions publically as I could today. Our support department had an absolute wake up call this morning with the volume of new players and deposits. Good problem to have!

I can't tell you how bleeping stoked we are that online poker is back in the USA.

P2P transfers is actually something that we fought with NV for for a while, but they're pretty firm. It's in the regulations and pretty clear cut:

http://gaming.nv.gov/modules/showdoc...ocumentid=2942

Page 5, Regulation 5A.120.9.

As long as it's in the regulations, we're gonna stick to it (and obviously not try to bypass it by redefining "player to player transfers").

I had this cool idea a few months ago for site-sanctioned backing agreements that handled the funds automatically, but with that regulation, that's all on the shelf. I used to really like being in IRC and spreading the love around for a bunch of horses on Sundays. Sure beat grinding, and when you have a horse go deep, it always feels like a win.

LMGTFY..

It's a Microsoft Install package file. Same as any .exe that you'd use to install software.
