If you don't have a Boarding Pass when you sign up, and then get one, can you add it to your account? I'm not seeing a way to do this... via support maybe?

The software itself is Cyberarts, which Ultimate/Fertitta bought 18 months ago.

Iovation is common fraud detection service, and its "ieSnare" tool is, I believe, fairly popular among many online gambling sites. It maintains a cross-site blacklist of accounts flagged for fraud. Iovation has ties to Excapsa, the software developers behind UB.

Sorry that's a bit vague i'm not too knowledgeable on it; I'm sure more knowledgeable people can fill in the details.

I don't know why you are even bringing this stuff up on this glorious day.

Think logically about this. The owners of the UFC are billionaires. They don't need the money that badly. Furthermore unlike other operators they are right in full view in Nevada and would actually have to attend court if something were to go sour.

Their software I'm sure was heavily scrutinized by the Nevada gaming board and passed. For these reasons this site is leaps and bounds the safest site in the world to play on.

can you please explain the huge error in making every NL cash game a 50bb buyin?? this is absurd.

Can someone clarify if you need to have a NV residence or can you play while you are simply physically visiting the state?

I hope your team has had a long discussion about this and I am interested in how you think that this will actually be a good thing for the long term health of your site. I'm sure you are aware that player liquidity is crucial to the prosperity of any online poker site. We have seen many sites introduce controversial measures like "Fair Play Technology" because the recreational players are busted too quickly by the solid regs/grinders. Many things have been cited as the cause of this problem, and chief among them is the prevalence of HUDs.

There are plenty of threads where the issue has been debated and I'm sure you've read those threads. I'm just curious why at this early stage you have made the decision that HUDs will be a positive for the site.
We haven't made a definitive decision on this yet - as of now, it's moot since the hand histories are rather basic and can't be imported into PT or HEM. However (and this is just personal opinion, hopefully I'm allowed to still have one - attention legal department, do not terminate me), I don't believe that HUDs actually make better poker players in general. I think the players who are likely to use HUDs are already working at improving their game and would be able to do so in other ways. This is just an opinion, and I don't want to sidetrack our thread for the day, but I'm really interested in how people feel about this. The rake thread is probably the best place to chat about it.

Can foreigners register from abroad and then play when they are in Nevada?

You'll need to respond to the location request text message, unfortunately, so yes. You'll only need to receive 2 messages and send one, so it should be cheap!

Personally, I'm strongly against that crap. If we do anything, it'll be opt-in. And we're not selling the phone numbers to anyone.

The flip-side of this, though, is that text messages are really useful for the business. People have tossed around the idea of opt-in text messages to remind you of tournaments you'd be interested in based on what you play, or guaranteed tournaments that haven't met their overlay yet.

We don't currently do anything, though, and like I said, it will be opt-in (like, really, not just "if you're in Nevada, you automatically agree to sell us your children").

I am having the same problem as you. I believe it is because we are very close to a Verizon cell tower and our cell phones are routing through them (piggybacking off of their location services). In essence blocking us as if we were verizon users. I am going to try a T-mobile pre-paid cheapo phone and see if that works. I will update here.

No option to save email/password? I don't want to have to type it in every time.

Ultimate Poker == Ultimate Bet ?

Poker in the USA is exciting and all, but how excited can we be about playing on UB?
04-30-2013 , 02:06 PM
dont feel like reading through thread. what verification will be needed? i saw the cell phone requirement, is there anything else?
04-30-2013 , 02:06 PM
dax, please? explain 50bb buyins or let me know that 100bbs will be in the near future?

I got the request to send in a copy of ID to idverification@ultimatepoker.com. But when I emailed it, I received a response from the mail server "user does not exist". That can't be good?

I have written to support with my verification documents, so hopefully they can process it...

Easiest way would be to not use internet explorer, but if you do want to use explorer, make sure you SAVE the file to your desktop instead of trying to run it. Then find UltimatePokerSetup.msi and double click it. playercare@ultimatepoker.com can help you if you have any other troubles.

Seriously, enough about the name guys. The average person is not on 2+2 and doesn't even know about the Ultimate Bet scandal. Most of those who do know about it are intelligent enough to know that just because something has the word "Ultimate" in its name doesn't mean it's affiliated with Ultimate Bet.

Thread needs a FAQ in 1st post because people just keep asking the same 3 questions repeatedly.

Yeah I got that too. Send to the playercare@ultimatepoker.com and it will work

Great, a new site where I can play exclusively against all the Pros in Vegas. Finally a site with better players so I don't hafta keep playing against all these 'fish' on other sites. And with only Nevada residents playing this will ensure tournaments with no more than 50 players. Finally I can stop playing these 8000 person tourney's on Pokerstars that are so time consuming. Ok, I'm being sarcastic. This is a good step, but this site will suck until it's open to the world.
