In this thread, discuss what tournaments we have available at Ultimate Poker Nevada. What are your favorite nightly or weekly MTTs?

Not much worth playing on UP yet, only thing I've played really are your series events and the sunday 109. Having more 11$+ mtts with 1k-3k gtds daily would be great, but obv a lot of that is a ways off likely.

Something I'd love to see would be having the GTD tourneys stand out more in the lobby (color coding) and the more special tourneys really standing out.

Also I'd love to see your tournaments have better structures, especially the series events and the sunday 109. Your structures are all turbos and play very shallow (when the sunday 109 was at like 400-800, the wsop 215 was at like 100-200 and they started at the same time).

Thanks Terrance, hope all is well with you.

Twice today I've been caught off guard by late registration and have missed out on tournaments I wanted to play. For the UPC rebuy, I wrongly assumed there was 60 minute late registration, as had previously been the standard on UP. For The Big $20, I made sure to read the fine print this time, it says 60 minute late registration, but the late registration ended at 55 minutes after the start...

Just now there was an advertisement for the Sunday 10k (saying it starts in 15 minutes). There seems to be no Sunday 10k this week...

Are there 1-table SNGs?

thx

Yeah I saw that as well. It was sent out in error since the UPC2 Event #4 was ran in place of the Sunday 10K. Already addressed the issue and shouldn't be happening again.

The description error will be fixed for next week. Our tournaments had to move to a 55 minute late registration because of an issue that was coming up with late reg's interfering with breaks. There was an edge case where a late reg could cause a table to be active during a break.

This is just a quick fix, the core issue is being addressed by the dev team, but as with everything - it takes time to have it built, tested, sent through the testing lab, approved by the board, and then finally uploaded as a fix.

Noticed both the new $5 plo8 and holdem tournaments are played 6 handed. Based on the lack of popularity of other 6 handed mtts and 6 handed sit n gos why wouldn't these new tournaments be set up 9 handed? That is what seems to be currently popular in both multi table and sit n gos.

correction - It is just the PLO8 tournies. Why arePLO8 tables not 9 handed?

Just want to give a kudos for the improving tournament schedule. Lower limit buyins with guarantees, good structured UPC series, and its just getting better and better. The levels could be a bit slower for the double stacks IMO, but im a structure nit and prefer 15 min blinds online, but keep em coming UP you are consistently improving and thats all i can ask for as a tournament player.

Tonight's tournament schedule has been updated with a few changes. The $500 Nightly has been moved back to 9:30, and we have added a $750 Nightly R&A and $5 Double Stack [$350 GTD].

Guaranteed Tournaments are starting at 5pm with the $1 R&A $100 GTD, and the guarantee for the 5:30 $10 Double Stack has been increased to $400.

Log-in and check it out tonight. Feel free to leave comments about the updated offerings.

Vast improvement. The higher guarantees definitely increased the number of rebuys. Even though the actual payouts were much higher than the previous low guarantees, the average player doesn't know that. It is hard for most casual players to make an early rebuy when payouts look so low compared to the investment. Maybe one of the $10 R&As should be bumped up to a $20 R&A?

What sort of measures do you have in place to investigate and deal with collusion in tournaments? Considering field sizes, collusion would be oh so easy to pull off.

I'm about 70% I witnessed some pretty serious collusion recently. Do you have a database of hand histories that you can search for two players and see how they interact?

yeah this is puzzling

I will e-mail support, but I'd also like to know what security measures are in place.
12-10-2013 , 01:56 PM
Yes, on the server we do have all hand histories will all hole card information viewable to our poker investigators.
12-11-2013 , 03:46 PM
Thanks, that is good to know.

Eh, you can ask for a whole lot more actually, don't sell yourself short.

IMO the Black Chip Sunday freeroll should start 5 minutes later so that the breaks are synchronized with the Green Chip freeroll.

Your structures are horrible. 2 hours into the Sunday tournaments and we've got 60/120 blinds on WSOP and...400/800 blinds on UP. That you start with 10k as opposed to 5k doesn't really matter when the structure is this bad. I'd vastly prefer 5k starting chips and a reasonably slow structure.

Making the nightly $10 $750 gtd a R/A and scheduling it later at 830 are both poor decisions. If its overlaying lower it to $600. It will now be a 3-4 table tourney that starts too late.

did u guys discontinue the $1 sat for the 10k?
don't see them.

Any online series during WSOP this summer?
05-09-2014 , 05:16 AM
I agree I think the sunday tournament needs to be restructured. There aren't enough levels for a "major"
