i'm sure there are others, but the beauty of the Oban distillery is it's location: right in the middle of town. easy walking distance to where we were staying. we drove past a few other distilleries on that trip (it wasn't a whisky journey) but decided not to go because they're in somewhat remote locations that required driving to and from. last thing i want to do is fully enjoy a distillery tour and tasting room then have to drive somewhere.

On the rocks is the best way to drink most Single Malt. Unless of course you just want to take a nip straight from the bottle.
my preference
1. just a wee nip
2. just a few wee drops of water
3. wee rock
4. rocks
