the new ones are no comparison to the old pythons. colt is a different company now. owned by cannae industries
best guns are pistols nowadays as revolvers are getting passed up. a glock say in 357 sig or 10mm works better than the old 357 and has more rounds available.

a 44 mag is hard to control. but you can shoot 44 special in them and that is a good cartridge. 357 can shoot 38 special but that is marginal except for target unless you have a 6 inch barrel.

I’m in a coffee shop that also serves food and some rat-brained woman just ordered a veggie burrito and a herbal tea! Her hubby’s order was almost as bad. Out of towner’s from California. These types of pests need to be eradicated from the planet!

It's all a matter of personal preference, but if you can find an original 6" S&W model 19 in good shape to fam fire, you might enjoy it. To me at least, that was the best shooting of the 357s, but I haven't kept up with guns for decades.

My only real advice on firearms is to keep the ones that shoot where you point them. Some just seem to fit in my hand and fire in such a way as to shoot where I want them to.

Another good piece of advice is to never listen to people like me who offer advice. I've met very few people who knew what they were talking about when it came to guns.

I prefer pistols also, but I'm steadily losing the battle with arthritis in my right hand and can see wanting a revolver in the next 5 years. They're so simple to operate.

pull back on slide and push forward with other hand. and you can get grip wings or whatever they are called to get a good hold on the slide
glocks are ugly to some but easy to operate and never mal function hardly.
you get the high capacity which nowadays is most important as bad guys come with partners.
for belt carrying nothing beats the sig 365 now.
for pocket s&w 340 series. in 38 or 357. i like the340pd expensive gun but only 12 oz.

My neighbor got a three point buck, he shot it on his property. I’d seen that buck cross my property earlier in the morning. I helped him load it in the bed of his truck, so he did not have to hand drag it to his garage for gutting. Estimate it at 175 lbs. Good size for a three point coastal blacktail.

not to hijack, but when we were a Yachats last week, driving down from the Perpetua overlook, a black bear ran across the road right in front of us about halfway down the hill. came from the upslope, sprinted across the road, and bombed it down the severe downslope through the trees on the other side of the road.
it was moving fast so i didn't get a good look, but it wasn't overly large... i'd estimate it was around 200-250 lbs. you ever see a black bear in your neck of the woods down south?

spouse's family has seen them around their property outside of Eugene, but i've never seen one in person until last week.

Black bears are somewhat common in my area but you don't see them that often. Scat and the rambling sounds the bear makes ambling through the dense brush or ripping up an old rotten log are the most commons signs and things that occur. Long ago a bear did try to chew up a plastic garbage can my dad left out in the open. A mistake he correct immediately. The garbage can still has the bear's teeth marks embedded in it.

The most annoying animals about are the racoons that get into just about everything, and come right up to my patio and back door. And get under my house, which I recently fixed with very heavy and tight-spaced mesh wire in a foundation opening. I have to put a large chunk of wood on the garbage can lid to prevent the little thieves from mucking about inside.

Burned this morning, brush and branches mostly, and watching the thick rolling smoke rise from the fire to add to global warming and the general demise and extinction of humanity made a good start to my day!

Not yet. Books, music albums, papers, and other burnable media are slated for the bonfire.

That is all the info I can give over the airwaves of the internet.

I Cooked a boneless pork loin roast and it came out so good that I decided to brag and post pics.

Ingredients: One pork loin, red potatoes, carrots and onions.

Slight oil in bottom of Pyrex pan with spices added on bottom and top: oregano, thyme, parsley, plus some bay leaves. Salt and pepper. Cooked at 350 for a bit over one hour. It came out perfect with all the fixings swimming in juice.

In pan

It was Delicious. The onions really added flavor and were so tender and rather sweet and I forked a chunk of pork loin with the onion and chomped it down and it all melted in the mouth. Potatoes, carrots were great also. I melted butter on top of those when I plated the feast. I love beer with some meals and this was no exception. Wine is for the sissy French. No need to make gravy – the natural juices from cooking is all that is needed.

Zeno a meat and potato guy least surprising news ever.

What’s in the whiskey glass?

Looks you won’t be doing any wood carving.

Are those record albums? You probably could’ve donated those. Lots of youngsters enjoyed records.

So the rain is starting. Nothing big, it is still just soaking into the ground. The rivers are not even rising and most of the salmon are still lounging about the mouths waiting for that first big flush. We need a week of heavy rain badly. Five or six inches of rain in a week would be nice and then it would be worth going out on the river to fish.

I keep getting richer! I have more money now than three years ago and I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars in the interval. I may retire to Russia or Italy. A nice country villa near Siena would be nice. I could rent out my Oregon residence to rich fishing whack jobs at a premium.
