That is the Pacific Ocean lapping the sandy beach. In the background are forested hills pointing upward toward an azul sky. I'm sitting on the deck of a restaurant that I can frequent at my leisure.

That is all I can say - If I gave any more information and I would have to kill you.

Spoiler:

Guard: The bad news, you change with you, you change with you ...

That section of the road will continue to be a problem. I go to Brookings fairly often. I also run down to the Eureka/Arcata area on occasion; fun towns to hang out in.

By the way, took the below photo today in a small town just north of where I live. Good advice and just another reason that I hope most of California drops off into the ocean.

There are no warm days, Ray. Sunny today and almost warm. But some wind and fog. Tons of folks are clogging up the area; surfers, wind and kite surfing and sailing rat heads and all the hanger-ons. Word is out I guess. When the north wind picks up later on in the spring and summer we will be inundated with the cool people - mostly from California or parts of the Northwest for the kite surfing etc. The north wind used to drive people away - now it may have the opposite effect.

Saw a Harley Davidson "Tricycle" today. Brand new, didn't know Harley was making them. You can store your gear in the back and truck on down the road in security and stability.

Got that $5 growler of IPA at the local store. They are building an addition. Growth and popularity is inevitable I guess.

May have to rent out some of my backyard to campers and make extra money on the side.

yep harley always made those and they are cool. but a real harley guy rides on two wheels.
those things do tip on tight curves if you go too fast on them and hard to get back out of it once it starts. but most have no problem. you better have an extra 30,000 if you want a new one though.

70 on the coast up north of you and thats warm its still march. if you want hotter go back to texas, or arizona or mexico.

Will be a few more months before 101 is open for both lanes south of my location. They are fixing the road in a short-term manner, because money and time, and the 101 coast road just needs to be open. But long term this is bad planning and a waste of funds. This just exemplifies the limited options available and that strong leadership, when really needed, is warped by short sightedness. Won't go into details. The "new road" will wash out or slide soon enough.

I did some volunteer work Monday. Thus contributing to the benefit of society, the local community, and to the global network of the do-gooding champions of draconian ethics and moralistic sycophants.

Rain for the foreseeable future. Steelhead season was non-event at the local rivers.

Working on my mixed media art and driftwood compositions. Soon I will be painting also - using squirt guns and air cannons, and also employing an occasionally brush to canvas; for old times sake.

Silly me: I've had alibaba (BABA) on my watchlist for more than two years; was going to buy @ around $80 a share But became distracted and never followed through. Finally bought some after dumping losing stocks and using the proceeds to invest in China. I could sell some IRA investment and buy into Russian oil/natural gas stuff. Still haven't decided on that yet. Too busy with other stuff to care much about individual stock purchases.

Just to reiterate that hindsight is a trap, do your research and then go for it, sitting on the sidelines is for the timid.

A couple of Beautiful days on the coast. So doing outside work in garden - Weeded my row of strawberries (a few plants already have small green berries) and blueberry and raspberry bushes. Tilled the garden yesterday and fed it and then re-tilled today. Nice spring weather, sunny and warm so perfect time to get this done before any more soaking rain. I also purchased some potato starts and red and white onion starts to get going on the planting. Plan on getting more swiss chard in and beets (mainly for beet greens) and peas. Just a few cherry tomato plants. Too cool about here for good tomato growing. Last year only the cherry tomatoes got anywhere near ripe.

View of garden from corner toward the backyard and house.

View uphill towards the deep, dark woods

The soil is very good except one end has a bit more clay but not enough to cause any real problems.

Hoards of tourist are already clogging the roads and being a nuisance. Word is out I guess. And right now is a better time to visit - before the damn North Wind starts up and blows all summer long. If you hit it right Spring is almost as good as Fall for visiting.

Thank you. I just finished all the planting today. Peas; carrots; Beets; Green Beans, Swiss Chard; and tomatoes- to go along with the onions and potatoes already planted a few days ago. Weather has been great and warm so everything will get a good start.

Perch. You can fish for them in the surf, if you have the right gear. I could get the gear together in a pinch, it's survival food for when the big earthquake hits.
