Save the bees!

Down with yellow jackets!

My motto is Live and Let Live! but I don't apply it to yellow jackets. I hate those suckers.

Bees are bees and include anything that stings. A sweeping generalization that I firmly adhere to. That’s how God references them in the Bible. Allegorical references aside.

truly hope that's all a joke zeno (as i suspect it is)
you would not be able to enjoy all those delicious berries without pollinators, primarily the honey bee. apples and cherries are also dependent, and almonds rely 100% on bee pollination when they bloom. it's estimated 1/3 of the world's food relies on pollinators, but knowing how you don't care about the human race it's not surprising you want to kill them all.

The amount of tourists and others on the coast makes me want to kill them all. No let up, the traffic and people seems to compound every weekend.

DDT is small potatoes; I need canisters of nerve agent to spread about. That’s the only thing that can curtail the hoards!

live in the slums get what you sow. move north and create distance. any admiral will tell you that. or go down with the ship.

Will be harvesting some of my potatoes and onions soon. No pics. They would be deemed offensive by the league of superior moral beings.

Taters came out great; gave some of the best to family and friends. I actually do have a few friends left; I still need to cull a few. But Mainly it’s family that require a kick in the pants.

My neighbor is engaged in total rape of his hillside portion of property. I’m all for it; even if it abuts mine. It cuts down considerably on forest fire potential so in a sense helps my property also. He still has a number of large trees so it is not completely denuded. But a firebreak has been cut/bulldozed around his hillside potion of property. Lets in more sunlight also. A big plus.

how much property do you have zeno?
spouses parents have about 100 acres sw of eugene, half field half forest. they've selectively logged the forest a few times over the years but haven't gone full clearcut.

I own 2.5 acres. Not much but it allows some elbow room. Neighbors on either side of me. Large cattle ranches and other property owners in the vicinity. So a lot of fields and open pasture land along with forested slopes in a nice river valley. All in all not a bad place to live.

Thought you had yourself a spread, 2.5 acres, hardly enough for your kitchen garden and a garage.

Kitchen garden is a wonderful term, P.G. Wodehouse would be pleased.

Wouldn't want too much more property - taxes, insurance + bothersome upkeep. I have a large shop building, a small bunkhouse (sleeps two), an enclosed fenced garden area, a nice firepit, a small 1600 sq ft home with back patio and carport/garage. And it took me four years of almost constant work to upgrade and maintain this small amount of property and buildings. I'm to the point now that I'm on the just maintain the buildings and property - And not a slave to it. I honestly wouldn't want much more.

I kid, think it’s the perfect amount for all the reasons you clearly mentioned.

Are you able to walk the adjoining or nearby lands?

I have some access to nearby areas. But most of the valley is private property, up to a point about 5 miles upriver. Then it is all National Forest and old logging roads through the Coast Range Mountains. A nice playground.

Me too. Ray's a good guy. Some of the stuff he's given away for free on these forums would have been unthinkable for an A player to do when I was starting out. He's done a lot to help people and a lot to advance the game.
