Been through Texas many times for pleasure and work. People are, usually, extra nice and pleasant. The BBQ is the best in the universe. The deer are tiny and you have to kill 3 or 4 just to make a meal for the family. The Girls talk funny.

Finally getting some much needed rain here. The smoke cleared out around my neck of the woods a few days ago. The scum areas more inland and in Washington are still choking on the smoke, ash, and bad air and I hope it continues and they all die. God's vengeance on those idiots. Fire and Brimstone on them for they are suffocating for their insolence and sin. And may they all Rot in Hell when they finally succumb.

Meanwhile, its heavenly were I live.

the strawberries are bigger in texas.

what did you do, put the biggest one on top for the picture?

Looks delish. There are good strawberries in Texas but they aren't cultivated, they grow wild. Pretty small--about the size of a raspberry.

They grow commercial varieties around Poteet that are OK but nothing to write home about. The best strawberries I've had were grown in New Jersey.

Mule deer in west texas get big, but the ones around are small. The ones in town do get fat, however. Fat and insolent.

Nice - fresh salmon is hard to beat; especially Chinook, they are the best eating.

Picked huckleberries yesterday and had huckleberry pancakes this morning. Hard to beat those for breakfast. Oregon Huckleberries are the best.

The entire Sistine Chapel is a Masterpiece.

PS: But you are not allowed to take photos, so no pics. Just go and see it if you can.

I had a superb dinner in Toulouse some years ago; the main course was pigeon in a foie gras sauce. Of course the appetizer was rat tails wrapped in skunk cabbage. You choked it down with the aid of the wine.

Unless you’re some type of vegetarian or something I would thing most meat eating Americans would enjoy duck liver and in particular something like foie gras. Maybe if you try to avoid rich foods but even than in small amounts it’s really good.

I’ve had pigeon and not a fan and I actually like dove although I’ve usually just had just the breasts smoked and wrapped in bacon from coworkers that dove hunt.

first it can cause secondary amyloidosis in some people. also it is prone to food poisoning.

second they shove a tube of food down the ducks and geese throats multiple times a day which enlarges their liver many times like even ten times or more.

animals are animals but torturing them for a specialty food is just plain wrong.

Ducks and geese are *******s and deserve worse. I understand that people's food preferences are inscrutable, but it is morally wrong to not support the industry

Geese are vile, demented animals; their poop is slimly green smelly turds and they **** everywhere; they attack you with their long necks and supercilious mouths, spiting and hissing; and try to bite your face and beat you with their large wings. They fly in large flocks ranting and honking their droning songs of doom and disease. My brother had some geese and he finally took them to a pond and let them loose so they could bother other people before expiring in ignominious death and torment. My friends in France have a pair of geese and I used to feed the scoundrel's every morning and they would hiss and spit at me and generally show themselves as the sickening ungrateful beasts they so obviously are. So if a few of these monsters of hell are tortured so I can have some goose liver pate I say Good and Good Riddance and God Bless the people that undertake this wonderful labor.

Goose is not that good to eat; too strong and oily in my opinion. Duck is great however. Anyway, blowing both out of the sky with a 12-gauge shotgun makes the world a better and more healthy place.

Bravo and well said.

Ray, being the inscrutable person that he is, doesn't realize that he tortures fish with hook and line, just to have some "fun and sport". and then beats the poor creatures to death once in the boat. The save the fishes folks have belabored the moral disease of people that undertake so insidious a industry and sport and soon laws will be enacted to save the poor humble and defenseless fish from so outrageous a treatment.

Morality is a so, so slippery slope and eventual trap. Best to avoid the slope altogether. Ray needs to realize this. Kill or be kill is the best way to live. All animals deserve what they get. Cows, pigs and sheep and etc., included.

I love the sound of geese flying overhead when they are migrating.

But if they land anywhere near you, then you have a problem. Brooklyn transplants will rush over to feed them, then when you grab your 12 gauge to give them some encouragement to exercise their wings and keep moving, you come up against more local, state, and federal laws than you thought could exist.

geese mate for life as they have a high standard of morals. not so with people.

Every animal has extremely high moral standards. It isn't noble.

Just finished painting the ceiling in my spare bedroom. That was one reason why I was thinking about the Sistine Chapel a few days ago. I wanted to paint God handing a Beer to Adam but with on one color scheme that was impossible. I can imagine it in my mind though.

The new Colt Python is on my list. A dazzling .357 magnum that can blow the head off of any criminal, or lay them out flat with one body shot, or total mangle into 1000 pieces of feathers and flesh any damn goose that gets within range.

The beauty of this handgun is that it much easier to control, fire, and handle than a .44 mag; has enough stopping power for any human encounter and is the perfect handgun of choice for the coming revolution/civil war/and the eventual Chinese invasion. It is also perfect for robbing banks, home protection (after the 12-gauge shotgun) and general use around your neighborhood. Always remember; just about everyone is a potential enemy. It is, as I noted above, A Kill or be Killed world. Always has been.

Shalom.
