the moles run along their tunnels eating only insects and worms. the cat feels them moving and follows and finds where they get ready to pop out of the ground for a short time. then waits patiently and then will the pounce on the poor little furry things with vengeance.

The garden is really coming along nicely.

The patio area and other areas around my house are being invaded by slugs and snails. Annoying, as they leave a slimy trail and I hate stepping on them by accident. They gang up on me every spring and cause mayhem. Just additional proof that god is a evil bastard.

not likely for you to have but a little left over beer in a shallow cup will catch slugs.

That's a waste of beer!

Started a small in house remodel job. First I have to destroy a useless and silly brick structure. Then redo the floor beneath. Then put up the nude lady statue in its place.

No pics. The unrelenting moralist brigade(s) and their spying lackeys will cause an uproar.

But you can still Think about what a nude lady statue would look like. At least for now - until that chip implant is put in your skull so all the church ladies can monitor your thoughts.

Those poor church ladies are all going to feel drunk, especially on Fridays.

It's not just the slugs - There are way too many people about my neck of the woods. Hordes of them. No joke. More than normal for this tourist season/time of the year. Where are all these scum coming from? It is starting to piss me off. Don't wish to advertise but I suspect the reason(s).

And some real estate business sent me a letter and wants to help me sell my house.

May have to move to Montana to get away from all these annoying people.

there has been a big up selling of houses in desirable rural areas from people getting out of the cities or wanting a retreat from problems related.

plus they have been buying rv's so they dont have to fly and going on driving trips.

also many from california read your blog and are coming up to be around your pleasant character.

I’m very busy; plus the Californians are really polluting the area. It will only worsen. We need a boarder fence to keep these scum out.

Update when the remodel/Construction work is near finished on two projects I’m working on.

Strawberries are ripe and great tasting, and the rest of the garden is doing well. Had fresh greens yesterday.

There is a particular beach where people get stuck all the time* and three days in a row I or my brother observed the frenzied operations. Yesterday a group of youngsters just got their car out before the tide was going to eat it. Eight of them pushing and finally got the car to safety. A local still had to yank them up to the parking lot using a tow strap. Free entertainment.

*Usually Dumb tourists and/or out-of-staters.

Are these 4wd? Whenever I see stuck kids or tourists, it's always a 4wd.
Zeno: Swinging the World by the Tail Quote

without 4 wd you are bound to get stuck if you leave the hard sand.
but almost all the time when you first feel you got stuck in sand you should never spin tires or try to gas your way out as you just dig in more.
immediately stop and get out and survey the situation. get something hard under the tires and if it looks bad, air down to about 12 pounds. then just drive out to the hard stuff.

Yeah, most of the time they are 4wd, but the smaller sedan types with no clearance. Most have no experience driving on the beach so they do dumb things, aside from thinking- “I have a 4wd so I can go anywhere”. And what Ray said. A little sense and you can get out most of the time if not too dug in. I didn’t help yesterday, aside from yelling to them not to stop once they got going. To no avail, they stopped. They had to push again and etc to the point of being too steep to continue. But they were out of the danger zone (high tide limit) by then. The savior people arrived with the tow strap.......and etc.

Most of the stuck vehicles I see are a result of this. This and not growing up where it snows a lot. Anybody who doesn't understand the difference between hard sand and soft sand, or who doesn't know to keep going, hasn't grown up around snow and ice.

Stuck vehicle update: yesterday a dualy truck, 4wd got stuck on the beach. They had to call a tow truck. No other details available.

I had an emergency today which required that I race into town and buy two bags of concrete and bottle of gin. No other details available.

With the stuck vehicles, I recommend (if they are not above the high tide mark), running out and saying "trust me, I can help" and then draining all of the fluids from the vehicle in question.

You get to give a place for more intelligent things to live that way.
