Below is an old used water heater that I cut in half and will reuse. Some make good troughs for water or feed for domestic animals. Other uses could be for small flower or herb gardens: placed outside they also provide good protection against digging critters etc.

Finished product after painting: I will use these for herb and tomatoes planters. I can construct a movable plastic covering/green house for protection and to facilitate my growing season; which tends to be too cool for tomatoes or most herbs.

I recycle; thus improving my moralist stance with all the sycophantic earth savers.

I will add that the items showed would also make useful coffins for chopped up bodies that you plan on getting rid of in a clandestine way.

I thought you were joking about burning the books, not sure if you still are

Are they library discards or just having a change of heart on your collection?

I somewhat agree that books in there traditional form are kind of a waste of space. I’ve made plenty of trips to the half priced book store and donated my books. If burning was an option where I lived I’d consider it.

Not alder - all that is myrtle wood (some incense cedar also) including that fresh stuff stacked by the shop. I got a truckload of myrtle wood rounds for free from a neighbor recently. That's the outside stuff; I have fir, apple, hemlock and myrtle stacked in my carport/garage area. Enough for all winter. If I needed it.

I plan on putting a fire pit in my backyard to burn all my wood, since I now have a pellet stove in the house. A much cleaner and consistent heat.

When the fire pit is complete I can then burn, burn, and burn and sit by the flames and drink whiskey, tell stories, and thumb my nose at God, all politicians of any stripe, and generally abuse the rest of humanity in a contemptuous manner. And toss a few books into the flames for good measure. Brian the Mick will join me I'm sure if he can find the time. Ray is always welcome if he brings a good bottle of hooch. Mat, Kiera, and dogs are also welcome anytime.

I'll be in that cesspool called Europe from later November to the end of this year. I plan on toppling a few governments and instigate general rebellions throughout the region.

If you happen across an original copy of A Pickle for the Knowing Ones hold off on burning it. Especially if it is a second edition, which was greatly improved over the first edition.

Noted. Timothy Dexter was of rare genius. If he were alive today he would be driving a big rig all over the country, trading up a storm and make loot by the truck load.
