Just stumbled into your Blog since I've seen you posting in various forums.

Thought I'd come and stop by to say, "hello."

I quite enjoy the emojis and your general upbeat look towards life.

I am looking to invest in bitcoin, but am unsure of the price I should be looking at bitcoin to fall to before I buy and what exit price I should sell.

Here's a question: what price would bitcoin have to go to before you do anything with it? (whether sell or buy more)

Thanks.

Good luck in your adventures.

Haven't watched too much else on Netflix just yet – the library's so enormous, didn't even realize there were Chris Rock videos! Am not huge into stand-up either, but everytime have seen him as a guest on a talk show, have found him to be very smart, idealistic, and thoughtful with his comedy. Seem to remember him talking about policy stuff without getting too political and polarizing - maybe by focusing on universally shared hopes and frustrations, in kind of a light-hearted way that everybody could enjoy?

Will definitely have to check out Arrested Development next - that's another one have heard mentioned by a lot of people ... it sounds great!

Had totally forgotten about the incident in the Bitcoin thread - until you brought it up and reminded me of it ... eek! Guess it's not the most fun thing to fail to see eye to eye with people - especially if things start to go a bit downhill. Although sometimes it seems like people may wind up having more in common than it may seem in that moment of frustration - and then they don't seem so different after all

Hope you're having a great summer! Have you been spending more time at the beach?

Hello friend!! Welcome!!

Totally recognized your name from NVG as well - it's been nice to have more poker streams to watch lately, and King of the Hill seems to be an especially fun one, with so many top players and a big prize up top

Bitcoin's sure something, isn't it? Have just gotten started investing in it this week, and it's already up almost 10% Have never seen anything like it!

Had bought a tiny little bit before when it was half the price about 6 months ago - and had told myself that maybe it might be worth risking a little amount was willing to lose, if there was a chance to make huge gains really fast? And then the price went down and none of the analysts seemed to know why, or if it would go back up or when, so ended up selling that little amount - which would be worth twice it's value now

My first purchase 6 months ago was something like this - guess it felt like a nice way to start, with just a small amount to get used to the process?

Would feel comfortable buying more right now, but don't have any more money available - guess if the price drops will feel very different about things Am hoping the price will go all the way up to US$6k - although maybe the market may have different ideas?

Am a noob to Bitcoin investing as well, so best of luck to all of us in the same boat!! Cheers HUMBLE.!!

Nah haven’t spent a lot of a lot of time at the beach lately I’m afraid. The spring weather here is still trying to figure out what it wants to do. I did manage to get a few quick paddles in after my recent trip to the snow but then came down with a lil case of pneumonia. Feeling good as gold again now but haven’t been back in the water just yet.
Haha, nope no pics of koalas. Truth be told I think iv only ever seen 2 or 3 in my whole life, and always in a zoo. They’re nowhere near as rampant as many think but they have the perfect temperament for the Aussie culture.. very laid back indeed (read lazy as ***) Work Space for Learning How to Research StocksWork Space for Learning How to Research StocksWork Space for Learning How to Research Stocks

Sam,

you have a talent. From your writing you are very very likable.

I am pretty sure that your life is not without problems, but if you write about them at all, you present them in so positive way. And you see not only yourself but also people around you. Blogging is kind of narcissistic activity, but you don't only write about you, you have looked in a plenty of other blogs here.

It's been so lovely having you all stop by and leave such nice messages - with emojis too, my favourite!!

Thanks all for the kind words

Lapka - have actually had two close relatives get sick this year. Guess when am sad and under stress, my way of dealing with it may be to kind of take a break from posting and burrow into my little cocoon until am ready to do my usual silly stuff again?

But for sure, there's been stuff - my brother had a bit of a health scare this year. He's doing well, but guess there's things he could do to get even better ... if he were open to those. Am the baby, so guess he kind of sees himself as more of the advice giver who's looking out for me, and not really the advice getter, which would be me in his eyes? Was watching a Netfix comedy special a couple of weeks ago, where the comedian was talking about his sister in the same way - guess all big brothers may be like that Anyways, so guess there's stuff he could do to improve his health even more - and it's a work in progress on trying to find creative ways to try to open his mind to new habits ...

Probably everybody's got similar stuff, right?

Iv thought about this for a coupla days and I feel like iv talked enough crap in your blog that I really should contribute something you may actually want.
You share so much with everyone and ask for very little in return so iv decided to give this a go. I’m a pretty private person online generally and I have no social media presence whatsoever and this is the first time trying to post pics on a forum so I’m expecting something to go wrong, so please bear with me.

Iv got so so many but these are a few that don’t give away my location too much.
I can never really capture the impressiveness on camera (phone) but these are some of the many moods of the sky above my place...

Hey marke.

Wouldn't want you to feel uncomfortable posting anything online that feels too private for you - with it being sunset it's hard to see too many details of what's happening at ground level ... also, my blog gets no views But if you prefer to keep your photos private, you should be able to delete them from the hosting site ...

Have had a chance to see the pics, and the sunsets are beautiful! You must be up quite high to have such a wide view of the horizon - and are very fortunate to not have other condos blocking your view Would imagine that must be quite ... relaxing? Or replenishing? To have the sunset there enjoy at the end of a long day - guess with it right outside your window, that must give you the chance to really stop and notice all the dramatic changes in colours and cloud patterns from each day to the next?

It's actually been cloudy all week on my side of the world, so this may be the first time have seen the sun in about a week? So it was neat to have the chance to see some pretty sun shots. Also, it's always cool to see pics of other countries - and it's neat when they're from someone who lives there. It seems like sometimes the views of a city through the eyes of a local can be night and day from those of a tourist? Like here's some pics of Sydney from when Oprah Winfrey make a visit on her show lol ...

Oprah cruising around Sydney harbour with Russell Crowe

Oprah at the beach each putting a 'shrimp on the barbe' with Curtis Stone

She also cuddled with a koala - guess that must be like the ultimate tourist experience? It does seem like it would be super fun though!

Thanks for sharing the pics of the pretty sunsets from Down Under - looks like you have a really sweet place ... lucky you to have such a great view of nature right outside your window Have a nice weekend marke.!!

Have only about a half hour or two of a window of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors these days before it gets dark. Looks like the leaves may still need an extra week to reach full peak? Guess it's a good thing they're not at peak viewing just yet, since it's supposed to rain all weekend

Current mood:

Do these photos look a little better than usual? Totally forgot about my old point and shoot camera - decided to give it a try over the weekend to see how the quality compares to my iphone 5 copycat?

First park

Second park - these two were zoom photos, and they seemed to turn out clearer than the sailboat picture from last weekend?

Saw the doggie catch a fish with his mouth, and was so impressed with his hunting abilities! Although two seconds after catching the fish, he went back into pet mode and dropped it so he could pick up a stick, and was prancing around like he'd caught the biggest prize Guess he must prefer the food that comes out of a can?

Wonder how much better the photos might be with a better phone or a better camera? The new iPhone's something like CAD$1.3k Maybe between my iPhone 5-alike and my vintage point and shoot, the two of them may be good enough?

Guess should do another bitcoin update, since it's been almost 2 weeks since the last one, and a lot has happened since then. Managed to find another couple of dozen articles on bitcoin - and they just written in the last couple of days! So maybe should try to get going with the reading sooner rather than later, in case there's a whole new batch that will be written tomorrow?

The Shark Tank episode with Alex Rodriguez is coming on in 10 minutes though - maybe can get started tonight, and whatever am not able to finish can continue with tomorrow?

Shark Tank was pretty good - someone invented a lock that can be opened with your fingerprint instead of a key ... was having a pickle of a time trying to find a pic of it from the show, because all the Shark Tank posts from tonight are flooded with Jennifer Lopez stuff since Alex Rodriguez was on ...

The lock's even won some awards from a bunch of design competitions - but $60 seems like kind of a lot for a lock?

Okay, will get going with the reading now

Well, guess if it had been important to finish all the reading and be up to date by tonight, would have made a point of finishing everything off - thankfully, there's still lots of time before the first fork on October 25, so guess it should be okay to leave more of the reading for tomorrow?

Will get started a little earlier tomorrow

Gosh, read over 30 articles - and a lot of them weren't from mainstream sources, so they seemed to be written in more of a blog-type style? Kind of like my thread here ... eek!

So kind of a lot to try to wade through, and my head's swirling a little bit from all that reading Also got a phone call in the middle, which took some time ...

Found a nice granola a while ago that doesn't have any sugar added, and have been eating it with yogurt and berries, and it's been quite lovely - may take a little break to have a snack ... then will see if am able to type out a clear post of the info was able to find? Hopefully?

Bitcoin News Update

Here's the most recent price, in CAD$

Looks like there were maybe only 4 big pieces of news since my last update? Anybody have any more?

Easier Transactions in the US
Guess on Thursday, one of the big US exchanges Coinbase started making available instant bank transfers of up to $25k - and apparently that caused the price to rise something like 25% in 24hrs? Have been hoping the price might rise past US$6k and make it all the way up to US$7k But it looks like it's kind of stalled the last couple of days, so maybe not in the next little while?

Two Upcoming Forks

First Fork: October 25 - Bitcoin Gold (BTG)
It sounds like this is considered to be a 'friendly fork', much like the one in August that led to the creation of bitcoin cash (BCH)? Like last time, guess people who own bitcoin will be issued a similar amount from the new fork - and like last time, guess the offshoot coin is intended to exist alongside the original, as an alternative?

After the fork in August, the price of the original bitcoin (BTC) apparently rose something like $2k, while the price of the offshoot (BCH) settled somewhere around $300 - so guess this is considered the main reason that price of bitcoin has been rising the last couple of weeks?

Second Fork: November 18 - SegWit2x (B2X)
It sounds like this is considered to be a 'hostile fork'? Which maybe makes it a little bit different from the last two? While everybody who owns bitcoin will receive additional coins from the new fork ... is this fork being done to try to compete with the original? The experts were saying that because of the nature of the fork, there's a chance that only one might prevail, instead of both?

They seemed to feel like there's a lot of uncertainty about what to expect in the immediate aftermath of this November fork, and so they feel like this one should be causing the price of bitcoin to be dropping - saw someone estimate that it could drop back down to $5k? On the other hand, guess people who are taking a much longer-term view were saying that bitcoin is just getting started, so in a couple of months or whatever, it should still be doing fine?

Russian Regulations to be More Restrictive
And then the final piece of news was that while Russia was looking to set up regulations to make it easier for citizens to access bitcoin, it looks like they've changed their mind and are now looking to set up roadblocks to make it harder to access bitcoin.

Guess if they had decided to make it easier for people to get bitcoin, then that might have opened up the market for bitcoin like it did in Japan? But guess there's still lots of other countries who have yet to enact bitcoin regulations of any kind - and guess there's a chance Russia could change their mind again ...

Was going to put down the updates first, before doing my 'what to do with my bitcoin?' follow up post - may have to leave that for tomorrow

Maybe worth taking a couple of extra days to keep reading more on the second fork, before pondering the options of what to maybe do after the first fork next week?

Was still finding lots of new articles on the second fork today, so hopefully may be able to find even more new ones tomorrow - the ones was able to find today made it sound like once the dust settles, the second fork might not wind up turning out all that different from the others after all?

Guess the more articles am able to find about what people are expecting to happen, the better though - so will keep searching

Sam, always appreciate your Grumpy cat photos did you know Tadar Sauce ( Grumpy cat) topped Forbes list of pet "influencers" for 2017?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.for...s-supreme/amp/

I don't recall you saying anything about playing poker on BC sites but personally I really enjoyed playing on SWC which has decent software and a yuuuuge selection of game types to make up for paltry traffic. Software seemed prone to crashing frequently but otherwise was solid.

Also did you read about the highstakes BC games on nitrogen poker? Apparently they were playing pretty big something like $350-700 as I recall. That would be a hell of a punt to put all your coins on the table and look for a quick cooler!

Hope all is well in CA, things much more chilled out here in Fl

Hey, Hank!! Nice to hear from you - how's it going?

Kind of dozed off after dinner, and just got woken up by someone ringing on the doorbell - was still half asleep, so was kind of scrambling to find my housecoat and make it to the door, while at the same time was trying to remember if had bought something from Amazon that was getting delivered before 9pm? It turned out to be two little girls - then started to wonder if today was Halloween?? Turns out they were looking for people to sponsor their dance competition - gosh, should really try harder to go to bed a little earlier each night

One day, it might actually be kind of fun to do something spontaneous like sit down at the high stakes tables with some bitcoin and let it roll! At least then, might actually have some interesting stories to tell, unlike my nap story from today lol

haha - Grumpy Cat's on Forbes ... again! This pic made my day

Also, thanks for that recommend of NPR for Business news - it looks like they do write articles as well, and they're very well-written

You sound good, my friend! I know you had hit a rough patch a while ago - guess we all go through times where some days will be better than others ... hopefully you and Sven have also been having some great adventures out on the open road enjoying the crisp Florida fall, and life's been treating the two of you well

Great hearing from you!!

Have been trying to take a screencap of the current price of Bitcoin for the last half hour or so, but it's hard because the price keeps rising - guess that's a pretty nice problem to have
(The orange dot is around where my purchase was made about a month ago)

Wonder if maybe people may be feeling like, if they can buy some bitcoin before the fork and sell it right afterwards, maybe it's an easy way to make $300 (if bitcoin gold ends up worth about as much as bitcoin cash did after the last fork)?

Have been keeping my eye out for more articles about the second fork, but it sounds like nobody's really sure what's in store for the price after October 25? It seems like people expect that the price might drop because of the uncertainty - but maybe is there a chance the price could keep rising, like it has with this first fork?

Guess will have to wait and see what happens - it's been a pretty wild ride so far

PS. Does the sky look a little unnatural here? Got a new camera, but it seems like it may have a colour adjuster built in? Guess we get what we pay for May return it ...

Maybe my older one was fine ...

Hope everybody has a nice weekend
