It seems like football takes the longest time to play 15 minutes
15 minutes of football = 45 real minutes
(enough time to bake a fresh loaf of bread )

Oh dear - only 19 seconds on the clock and the other team somehow managed to score 7 more points ... that Chief sure managed to cover a lot of ground in 6 seconds

Patriots still ahead, 17-14!

Gosh, that other team didn't look like such a long-shot after all, did they?

Ehh, would have been much more fun to have seen a win and been able to book a little profit - but the sweat's always fun. Will just have to go back to my usual grind of The Deal to make my money back ...

Going to turn in at a decent time tonight, for a change

Such a fun episode Guess maybe a little bit controversial too, because Jaime has a rare treat? But he did it in a disciplined way ...

Wonder if Jaime, Matt and Chris may wind up having to do a 'Streamboat 2 - back home to Canada Edition', to finish off WCOOP? From the pics of the US Virgin Islands post-Irma, it's looks like the damage has been quite severe?

Lol Grumpy cat is the G.O.A.T cat of all time with Alice in Wonderland'a Cheshire Cat a close second IMO, thanks for the laugh Sam! Yeh it never crossed my mind what will become of the Hemingway cats wonder if they are tame or feral. I'm sure there's lots of cat lovers there and some got out either by trap or other means.

Fun fact about Grumpy Cat is his name is "Tardar Sauce"!

Are you a pet owner if so what you got?
Work Space for Learning How to Research Stocks Quote
09-10-2017 , 12:46 AM
haha!! Oh yeah, that's right - Grumpy Cat's supposed to just be a 'stage name', is that right? For all the celebrity gigs that Grumpy has to do, like sponsorship commercials and what have you

Looks like Grumpy's behind the wheel ... again ...

Grumpy didn't seem too happy to possibly be getting confused for a football in that pic lol - or with a name like Tardar Sauce in real life, maybe Grumpy's at heart a Dolphins fan? Are there any other football teams with seafood names?

Am so worried about the Hemingway cats! Have heard that authorities are especially worried about people in the Keys, because they'll be first hit - have CNN going on in the background right now, and it looks like the wind's already blowing the leaves of the palm trees sideways ... and the hurricane hasn't even hit yet Really hope everybody else was able to get out and get to safety ...

We had two pets growing up - a westie dog named Snowy and a shelter cat named Sam . Snowy was a real ham, who was very social with people and pets - he loved to spend hours in the backyard, flirting with the girl dog across the street While Sam was much more shy and more of a homebody, and really loved to cuddle.

They're both in pet heaven now, hopefully having a lovely time, eating lots of wonderful people food Guess it's easy to get new pets - Daniel Negreanu apparently just lost his doggie a couple of months ago and has already gotten two new ones ... guess maybe i tend to get very attached to pets, so would like to get another pet at some point, but no plans just now ...

Growing up, my neighborhood didn't seem to have a ton of kids around who were younger than me, so there weren't too many babysitting opportunities - but when was around 12 or 13 and too young to get a real job at The Gap, starting pet-sitting for a couple of people on the street while they were away on vacation. And after that, guess word got out that was doing pet-sitting, so it seemed like we had like this steady stream of pets coming to stay at our home for the next good couple of years? Which was wonderful!!

Kind of a neat thing about pets that maybe you might find interesting, since Sven was with a pet-sitter for a while - guess at times it can seem like pets will be friendly with whoever's filling their dish ... but when it came time for people to come pick up their pets, they definitely knew the difference between being at a pet-sitter's house for a week or two, and being able to go back home and with their family

Guess all pets have very loving hearts, but they do seem to have the capacity to bond and form very deep attachments - guess maybe that's why so many people wind up feeling like their pets are members of their family in return? We used to celebrate our pets' birthdays, and give them presents at Christmas, and all that - one time our cat even unwrapped his all by himself! It had catnip, so guess that kind of tipped him off, but still ...

Pets sure are lovely

First unofficial weekend of Fall wasn't so bad - the humidity's finally gone, so during the day it's been sunny and gorgeous There's still some outdoor fairs and festivals going on around town - here's some pics from a little outdoor arts and crafts show ...

There's also a film festival happening in town, with a lot of big stars showing up - on the way to dinner, passed by the premiere of George Clooney's new movie, and the crowd trying and catch a glimse of him was enormous! Apparently he was there, because the crowd was all excited - unfortunately, only managed to capture a pic of the crowd

Last night, they had the premiere of that new poker movie Molly's Game, that Aaron Sorkin wrote and directed, that's starring Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba - guess all the movie reviewers get to attend the premiere? And it seems to be doing well so far

Haven't actually read any of the reviews - but several of them seem to really be sticking with the poker theme in the title, so there must be a fair bit more poker in the movie than there seemed to be in the trailer?
Vanity Fair - Molly’s Game Review: Jessica Chastain Plays to Win
Indie Wire - ‘Molly’s Game’ Review: Jessica Chastain Goes All in for Aaron Sorkin’s Electrifying Poker Drama
The Guardian - Molly's Game review? Aaron Sorkin's poker drama is a bet that fails to pay off

Speaking of movies - was catching up on the week's news this morning, and saw this little gem over at PokerNews, about the peoples champion of the WSOP, John Hesp

Hesp continuing to live the dream - with most likely more of *a* chance to meet George Clooney than me, yesterday

Can't tell if Hesp's story would make for a good movie or not? Most of the movies will usually go to see don't tend to have too much of a plot lol, like ...
Adam Sandler seems enormously talented - pretty versatile of him to go from play-fighting with Bob Barker to making a whole bunch of really sweet romantic comedies ... wonder what he's been up to in the last little while?

LOL - oh noo ... the comments say it was Drake leaving the Film Festival that was causing all the kerfuffle with the traffic ... awkward!!

Totally forgot that Rob Ford was internationally reknowned ... what a disaster Guess restraint wasn't his strong-suit, so it seemed like he spent his time in office stepping on everybody's toes. He was actually one of the few mayor's who's ever managed to balance the budget, and he did it without raising taxes - which is an especially amazing feat, considering he was probably high on cocaine the entire time

The traffic's gotten really bad the last couple of years - found this vid on youtube of what it's like to actually try and ride in bike lanes around the city, and it looks like it's not just Rob Ford that's been using the bike lane for driving?

The city's got some very nice recreational jogging and biking trails throughout the city, so have never tried riding on the streets with cars so close by ... would be a little afraid, with traffic zooming by so quickly!

How does the city biking scene in your area compare - hopefully there's a little more sharing of the road than there seems to be in my city?

PS Bobby Boucher, lol!! Haven't seen Waterboy showing up on the Sunday afternoon movie schedule as often as Billy Madison for some reason - too bad doesn't get more play ... such a classic!!

Must be one of the last holdouts who have yet to subscribe to Netflix - everybody seems to love it ... although maybe not for the new Adam Sandler movies? This trailer looks a little bit strange towards the end - although the description makes it sound kind of promising?

Wow, what's happened to Jim Carrey Dumb and Dumber was so funny!! Guess he's always had a little depression though, in addition to his gift for comedy?

My next splurge might be one of those new iPhone X's - am still on a iPhone 5 knock-off, so it may be time for an upgrade There's supposed to be a huge unveiling tomorrow that has all the sharks making bets on whether the price of AAPL will go up or down tomorrow - guess if everything goes well, the new iPhone may be hitting the stores as early as next Friday? Have been seeing a ton of articles that all seem to agree that oil and gas is on a permanent decline. Guess yes, because governments are worried about the environment, so it's been getting taxed more heavily ... and then there's been all those advances they've made to solar and wind ...

Really like your idea of keeping an eye on solar stuff Guess some lithium mining stocks did really well last year? And Tesla's been going crazy! Would really like to be able to buy some Tesla at some point - it seems like it's poised to be the next great stock ... or maybe it is already??

Was looking back through my posts - thought had made more of a mention of lithium mining stocks than there seemed to be?

Guess they were on my radar at the beginning of the year, but decided to pass because they've only started to do well in the last year or so, although the gains have been huge. So wasn't sure if maybe they were a bit too risky to be starting off investing with?

Look how the three of the big ones have been doing this year though!

Apparently there's only a handful of places in the world where it's currently easy to mine lithium - so competition isn't huge, and the demand is exploding?

Just today there was this piece of news in the headlines:

Would really like to start investing in lithium, because it seems like these stocks could continue to have these high returns for quite a long time. The only thing is that they don't currently seem to have much more room to grow - it looks like SQM, like TSLA, is already overpriced?

Lithium's kind of a cool investment too - it seems like it may feel a bit more fun to invest in the technology of the future, rather than just making $ from investing in a company like Alibaba that makes their money being the world's largest distributor of fidget spinners?

Am a little confused by why there's such a difference in the returns of 3 companies though - so guess am not ready to buy just yet, and should try to do a bit more research first? Will have to see what am able to find?

Guess will have to leave that until tomorrow - look at the time

Been away for a few days so have had a lot to catch up on in here. I think you should really start putting some of your investing research behind a pay wall. Some great stuff here. Matter o fact can I just ship you some funds to manage for me n il pay a vig? I can honestly say you sound way better and more informed than some advisors who've tried to sell to me. Semi serious q

I seem to have returned at an opportune time. Adam Sandler movies... not sure how popular it was as it's still not available on blu ray but one of my all time fave movies (I have loads) is Funny People. Not your typical AS moofie at all but a real beauty in my books.

Hope ur well.

i love netflix it's the best streaming platform. their apps have always been ahead of the others, like fewer bugs and easier to use, and they've recently been investing a ton of money in original content, so they're becoming like a competitor to HBO as well. i'd recommend checking it out, at least for the free trial, Bojack Horseman, Stranger Things, they did a crazy timewarp season of Arrested Development, lots of good new stuff and lots of classic shows. it's unbelievable that someone internet savvy as you hasn't tried netflix by 2017 maybe they've got more potential growth as a business than people think? they've been one of my top stock picks since november

I've never ridden in Toronto or CA at all but imagine it would be challenging with not only the heavy traffic but cold weather conditions for almost half the year. People/motorists/pedestrians are generally very accommodating to us cyclists occasionally people spaz out and rubbish you but I try not to take it personally and lower myself to being aggressive however I'm still learning and once and a while people push me beyond the limits of self restraint.

Always had a soft spot for Rob Ford, we have some things in common after all; substance abuse, gregarious, at times combative, not afraid to speak openly. There was a collective schadenfreude going on during Rob's final years despite his open disdain for cyclists, reading books while driving, and general boorishness he did come across as charming some how guess otherwise he never would have been elected right?

Irma didn't bring her full fury here to Tallahassee but there was rain and wind of 25-30 for a few hours.

Hey marke.!! With your days getting longer, hopefully you've been having more and more of a chance to go outside and enjoy the outdoors and some beautiful weather - must be amazing to have the beach and mountains within driving distance

Thanks so much for saying those nice things about my investment stuff Must admit though, probably my heckler was right to say he wouldn't feel comfortable following my advice!! Guess am still sort of in student driver mode - have been very lucky to have had straight roads that haven't been very busy so far ... and hopefully it stays that way for a while!! Not sure how things will go if the weather starts to get more windy and rainy, and the driving gets more complicated - guess can only do my best, and will just keep trying to learn new things as they come up?

The Adam Sandler movie sounds really good! Was really excited to see Leslie Mann's in it as well - have seen quite a few movies of hers that were showing on tv like The Change Up, and they're usually pretty light-hearted comedies with a sweet little friendship or romance that develops or grows along the way. It sounds like maybe this might be that type of movie?

Hey you know what, not sure if you've ever watch Jaime Staples on Twitch, but he and his two brothers also do a daily vlog, and they're in NYC right now - and Jaime really loves it there ... he even mentioned feeling a bit of a vibe in the air in his last episode! Score is now 10 million to 1 for marke. on the 'there is soo very much a vibe in NYC scale'

Great to hear from you!! Hope you've been doing well!!

Have heard so many good things about Stranger Things - and Arrested Development too That's a good idea to maybe give the free trial a go - that would give me a chance to check out the other show as well. Am currently on a free trial subscription for the Wall Street Journal ... it's great when it's only $1 for 3 months

It sure does feel like may possibly be the last person on the planet who has yet to sign up for Neflix In a previous life, must have been a bird - because my favourite thing to say is that am ...

Guess $100/yr isn't a ton Have already paid $30 to PokerGo this year! Maybe Netflix would have been the better deal? There seem to be a couple of people talking about that right now in the PokerGo thread ...

Was looking to see how many people watch Netflix compared to cable shows, and found these article about some of the estimates people have made of Netflix' viewership ...

And here's some numbers for some regular tv shows ...

Maybe still a decent amount of room for Netflix to grow, if the rest of us eventually get around to subscribing?

Did have the chance to check out House of Cards a couple of years ago - used some of my Amazon.ca gift certificates to get Season 1, and even included a review in my old blog on Poker School Online. Guess it's done super well for Netflix, but remember feeling at the time, like it may have been even better with a little extra 'something' added to the mix?

Interesting thing about Rob Ford - you most definitely weren't the only one who had a soft spot for him ... which seems like it might be kind of unusual in life, for someone who's *constantly* doing things that rub people the wrong way? By driving in bike lanes, and reading while driving, etc ...

Maybe in life, sometimes peoples' best qualities can be their worst as well? Like guess Rob Ford had no filter, and the worst of it sort of got all the attention in the press - but maybe sometimes a person with no filter can be a bit refreshing too, when someone is willing to just go with whatever they're feeling and enjoy themselves, with no worry about what looking foolish, or anything like that? Rob Ford used to love to dance

He would put himself out there on the job as well - like he had an idea to build a casino downtown, to generate additional revenue and create jobs and help bring in tourists. And the majority of voters liked the idea, but it only got like 5% of the vote from city council, or something like that? Guess people maybe sort felt like he was a lot more in touch with what people wanted from their politicians, than many others for whatever reason?

When he got sick - the universal response was just one of pure sadness ... guess he always came across as someone who truly loved life, and his enthusiasm was infectious. Maybe people take the good with the bad - even though his good and bad were a lot more at the extreme ends of things, which was both exasperating and exciting

Lots of different people that make the world go round perhaps Have not seen too much of the Rob Ford in you Hank - guess will have to keep reading your blog too hear updates about that part of you ... popcorn.gif!!

PS. Am not a huge podcast listener - something's wrong with my head, and for some reason can't seem to absorb info from the spoken word nearly as well as from the written page Will have to see if maybe NPR has written stuff though - never occurred to me to check them out

PPS. Great to hear your region was spared!
