Oh, whoops! Looks like it started at 4pm and not 4:30??

So the tourney apparently started at 4pm, and Sam started at 4:30

On top of that, it looks like it's a Zoom tourney - so am not able read articles while 1-tabling.

On the plus side, it's kind of neat to be able to play the entire pool, so everybody has the chance to play the entire range of people. Bet this player was super happy to have the chance to play a bronze star - got so tense, actually wound up timing out the hand lol

Does he play high rollers? Had no idea what was going on in this hand??

Gosh, people are piling into this SCOOP-L, because we're practically ITM, with about 10 minutes left to late registration. People only start with about 12bbs though, which is about the same as my starting stack the other day, and look how that turned out

Am running so lucky in this SCOOP-L, it's ridiculous

Usually just stick to those <$1 tourneys where we're all recreationals And then, those couple of times have played $5.50-$11 tourneys, it's wound up seeming like as the tourney gets deeper, skill eventually starts to win out over luck? Guess like when the stacks get deeper and stuff, and they start stealing all my blinds and running all over me?

Oh well, will just enjoy the hot run while it lasts - am at the same table at nkeyno again, eek!

Guess it's hard to make big $ playing tourneys unless one's capable of winning - so maybe it's silly for me to be playing these SCOOP tourneys at all? Especially this late into SCOOP - because there's all those top players who are trying to rack up points for the SCOOP leaderboard ... isildur even zoomed by me at one point!

Have a bit of a tendency to nit up after ITM sometimes - and it's not like am all that loose pre-ITM to begin with Is there a chance was supposed to call here?

Tried to find the best starting hand in 5-card o8 - and didn't seem to be doing so hot against this hand?
ProPokerTools 5-Card Omaha Hi/Lo Simulation

6 3 A 7 K35.12% 123,861324,73240,45659,581134,421

But versus hands that are a little bit different, guess my hand was doing *okay*?
ProPokerTools 5-Card Omaha Hi/Lo Simulation

Hand Pot equity Scoops Wins HiTies HiWins Lo Ties Lo

6 3 A 7 K47.37% 184,586359,7165,258167,568300,384

Was pretty content to just zoom around and around, and wait for a different spot, while other people got knocked out But guess we're not supposed to be so happy to do just a little better than a min-cash, we're supposed to be trying to win?

Wonder if my fold was a mistake?

The Rock's on Saturday Night Live, joking about running for President in 2020 - only it sort of half sounds like he's serious too

Looks like it's the season finale, so Tom Hanks came on to help with the opening skit ... and Alec Baldwin was there to. And Katy Perry is the musical guest - can't remember the last time the show made me truly laugh, but the guests tonight all have lots of charisma, so it looks like it should be pretty entertaining

Tomorrow's the big day for part 2 of the Phase tourney that started several weeks ago - was snooping around the MTT section and spotted this post from PS Luke, who said he's going to try to get it to pay us all ... so excited to hear we all get to cash!

We hope to pay all players, but there's always the possibility of complications. Each Phase 2 tournament currently has a "fake" pay table in it. In order to pay all players, we need to redeploy each Phase 2 tournament in the time between the last Phase 1 ending and the Phase 2 beginning. At the same time, we need to create a pay table for each stakes level, which is no simple task in and of itself. That is why there is a disclaimer in each Phase 1 lobby.

One thing have noticed about these phase tournaments is that sometimes people who play phase 1 and make it to phase 2 forget to come back and play the rest of the tournament? At least at my stakes Or else they have other stuff to do, or stuff like that - guess every little bit helps ... although will have to hope to get lucky with my mini-stack, otherwise won't be able to last for very long. Still fun to be able to play on Sunday Funday

Tomorrow should be good!

Tried really hard today to take more chances to try chipping up - although admittedly my play probably didn't look so different from yesterday

My neighbour today seems to be like a mid-stakes tourney grinder - so he's profitable, and he's won lots of tournaments. Guess should maybe be trying to play in a way that gives me stats more like his - so have a bit of a ways to go at learning how to find more spots

Will have to maybe go back to my <$1 tourneys and keep working on that

Oh well - was maybe going to play the Sunday Storm, but may go to the store to pick up a lime instead ... almost bought one yesterday, but balked at how expensive they've gotten lately! Almost a dollar for a lime, when they used to sell for something like 10c? Although was maybe going make chicken tacos tonight, and it'd be nice to have some for my crema ...

There's an $11 SCOOP-L turbo knockout that starts at 5pm today - maybe can give that a try instead?

Okay, off to the store ...

There's another music award show on tonight, the Billboard Music Awards - really enjoy these, because they pack the show with performances ... mostly non lip-synched ones ()

And the music's from every genre - which can sometimes maybe be a bit of a culture shock when most of us aren't maybe accustomed to hearing rap performed right after country, etc? But it's kind of cool too to get to hear different genres, when it's the top performers of every style

Nice to have an entertaining show to watch after a long day of SCOOP!

Cher's 71 years old and said she can do a 5 minute plank! Not even sure would be able to manage a 5 *second* plank?

Gotta keep eating my greens - wow!

Seem to have gotten into more of a routine with the healthy eating, so it's not taking nearly as much recipe research and planning before going to the store - that feels really good, to have it starting to feel like it's becoming more of a habit?

Used Kenji's Pollo a la Brasa with Green Sauce recipe from the Serious Eats site to make my taco, and it was my favourite meal to date - just removed the skin off the chicken, and used fat-free yogurt instead of sour cream and mayonnaise, and it tasted just as good as it did the last time ...

Guess the biggest challenge to eating healthy has maybe been eating out at restaurants on the weekend? My province just passed a law at the beginning of the year that requires restaurants to post labels on their menus - so it's hard not to notice that even the 'healthy' foods at a lot of places are packed with fat and calories

This restaurant is an Italian chain with fresh pasta - so guess if all the meals on their menu are unhealthy, might as well just got for the spaghetti and meatballs, amirite??

Pretty interesting to see how this restaurant doesn't even offer any healthy food choices - maybe sometimes it'll be impossible to eat healthy, when there's nothing available? The Bollywood star's trainer was saying that if we put effort into trying to stay healthy, then maybe it's okay to enjoy every once in a while. Not sure if gigantic plate of spaghetti and meatballs was quite what he had in mind ... but hopefully eating fatty carbs every once in a while isn't too horrible, if everything else is healthy the rest of the time? It's interesting, because it doesn't even taste as satisfying as it used to, after eating healthier for over a month now - just felt kind of stuffed and short of nutrients after eating about half the plate, so guess maybe my tastes have changed?

Tomorrow's a holiday - nice to have the day off And then guess now that SCOOP is over, can also go back to my regular grind of playing The Deal

If you want to make money in stocks, do a deep dive into the valuation models of oil and gas companies.

If they burn more than 1/4 of global reserves, we'll have catastrophic climate change. Unfortunately, the market hasn't given these guys a haircut for that yet.

We're due for a big wake-up call re: climate change. In 10 years, when insurance companies and lenders pull out of S. Florida real estate and we acknowledge that a few $trillion will be lost, oil stocks are going to collapse.

The companies that make the big breakthroughs and IP in battery storage will have big upside.

A visitor!! Hello Nut Nut - welcome, welcome!!

Guess so many different parts of the economy can bubble up and then crash, and various other stuff can go wrong as well - it sort of feels like we may be in a bit of a whirlwind *right now* even!

While reading headlines every day, have been saving a bunch of different stuff to folders, to try to keep an eye on different possible trends in the market? Guess my e-files could use a bit of sorting through, because could swear had bookmarked a lot more oil and gas stuff than was able to find today

Have been seeing a ton of articles that all seem to agree that oil and gas is on a permanent decline. Guess yes, because governments are worried about the environment, so it's been getting taxed more heavily ... and then there's been all those advances they've made to solar and wind, or something like that? And then as well, guess in the meantime they've found ways to get oil out of the ground more easily, from places like oil sands and shale, and stuff maybe?

Really like your idea of keeping an eye on solar stuff Guess some lithium mining stocks did really well last year? And Tesla's been going crazy! Would really like to be able to buy some Tesla at some point - it seems like it's poised to be the next great stock ... or maybe it is already??

GL with your investing Nut Nut - hope the market is kind to us all!!

Actually the market is up again today - while am still sitting on the sidelines, meh

Warren Buffett did warn that it's better to just stay put - otherwise it's easy to sell low and wind up buying back in high, which is what would be doing if were to buy back in now ... so maybe better to just stay on the sidelines, now that am already there?

Seem to enjoy learning everything the hard way, so guess this time will be no different

Oh well - am going to go outside and plant my lettuce and other goodies now

Managed to plant my herbs and veggies - last summer was really hot, and had a couple of lettuce plants dry up on me before they even grew large enough for me to eat any of them

They had this special potting soil at Home Depot, that's supposed to help keep the soil moist for longer - so figured it might be worth a try, and got some other potting soil as well that's supposed to help everything grow?

Hope mr bunny isn't *too* afraid of the 'scarecat'!

So still jogging, and still eating healthy - they have some nice vegetarian recipes on the 'Eating Well' site. Am still eating chicken and fish, but seem to be finding it much much easier to add meat to a vegetarian dish, than to try to find a way to add more vegetables to a meat dish? So have been looking at vegetarian recipes for ideas - just used whole wheat rotini instead of cheese tortellini, and added extra veggies ...

Have to get some stuff together for my trip next week - and am not very organized, so getting stuff ready can tend to take me ages May not have the time to post for the next while - like to have stuff done ahead of time, and then take a breather after everything's set ... so hopefully it won't take that long to get ready?

Hope the weather's nicer this week than they expect it to be
