Hello all =)

I've been getting sick and tired of doing the twitter style TRs, they get repetitive, they're harder to do, and boring a lot of the time for the reader, after seeing the HOB pop up I figured it was the perfect opportunity to try it out.

For those who haven't read my threads, just do a search, I started out with a couple good ones (warning: degen trip report, and jew jsts ninja invade vegas) but my recent ones have lacked, due to laziness, not giving full stories (well everyone does that im sure), and living in the moment so too busy to post, and when I post it's half assed and lacks content, leaving readers disappointed for sure.

To finish up my last TR: I was packing up and intending to leave that night, imakeposts called me up and made a request for me to stay and party it up at 1OAK, I declined at first, but realized even if I had left at that second I wouldn't be able to make it back to sac in time to get keys from my new roommate, so plans were changed. I called him and let him know I would be joining.

Meanwhile as I was packing my roommates girl came in my room and was initiating convos, she was buzzed and likes to chat me up, we've had some funny/interesting convos as she's a camgirl and I'm no stranger in sexually related chit chat, what was funny tho I had told her I was leaving, she's telling me "please don't leave! stay!! let's get ****ed up!", and even texting this type of stuff to me as she's in the room with me watching me pack, up until this point it's been super chill with them, we've all gotten along great no problems etc. But today they had a fight, I didn't give a **** obv cuz it didn't affect me any, so I just acted like it never happened, she was clearly upset at him, I was shrugging anything to do with their fight off and continuing convos as normal. He had left and said goodbye before I had changed my mind about staying one more night, so it was just us two there, I asked her if they wanted to join, she was down and wanted to go, I told her I was going to hit up the roomie to make sure it was cool, she seemed offended by the fact I'd ask my friend/roomie and told me not to worry about him basically, I texted him still jic, saying if there was a prob lmk and telling him to shoot through etc.

I was doing laundry/ironing the shirt I was going to wear when she calls me into her room, I walk in there and she throws a whole mess of clothes onto the bed, I already know this game, I cover my eyes grab a shirt and say "OK this one!", I picked out 2 illegal outfits blind (illegal meaning you'd get kicked out of the club for wearing it), after going back and forth and the outfit being decided, and before I can go back to my shirt she decides to snap undress in front of me, I've seen her tits multiple times so it wasn't too big of a deal, but the way she was acting was super suspicious, she asks me to tie her back, I oblige, and run off to finish getting ready myself, she calls me back in the room and asks if I can pick her up, at this point I am now pretty sure she wants things to happen, I play dumb and say of course, pick her up toss her on the couch in the living room, she wants a hug on the couch, I'm still trying to play dumb as best as possible, I mean its my roomies/friends girl and I like the guy we get along great, we hug she pulls me in and I'm like ok time to finish getting ready, we have a drink and she asks me "Do you think I'm hot" and asks me if I think she's fat (which she isn't in any way shape or form, she's def hot), I oblige the fishing for compliments and say yeah you're hot and poke fun at the fact that she's even asking me, she decides to take off her pants and show me her legs/ass, at this point I'm really hating life b/c her ass is amazing, thigh gap great ass etc, I'm like ok that's great I seriously gotta get ready now lol, so I'm getting ready roomie texts me that they'll roll and asks me if I wanted to wait, I say np, put on my shirt, and she tells me to pop my collar and keep it that way, as we trade the 3d glasses you get from the movies I pulled out and decide to wear that night. imakeposts is calling me telling me he's getting **** for taking too long so I decide to bounce and leave her there so her and the roomie can go together.

This is the part where I have to leave a lot of stuff out, due to request, and myself =), the club was fun, we partied it up, cray **** went down, had 2 free bottles from imakeposts getting screwed outta the major lazer show. imakeposts snap wanted a truce from hitting each other in the no no area, I told him only if he posts in my TR that he begged, all he posted was truce was made, should pay him back for that lol.

After the club I went back to the pad where roomies girl (they never showed up) and one of her friends were chatting it up, roomie was passed out, I chit chatted and passed out, the next morning, roomies girl said something along the lines of she was messed up the night before, I was thinking it was her way of apologizing for the last night, still not completely sure what happened there, but reads are reads lol. So that picks up where my TR left off.

I'm back in Sacramento, moved in with a couple local poker players, came down with a fever that lasted a week or so when I arrived, that sucked, currently planning on putting in a butt load of volume online, playing the $1500 HPT event that is coming around (which I am assuming is a must play) and trying to make cash and get back into tip top shape with my friend insanity.

Insanity is going well, poker is not, as I was typing this up, had a guy go runner 99 for quads vs my Ax on AQ999, had a guy go runner flush w/34h after calling flop/turn on A2h69hAh vs my AQ, valuetowned myself on river, yesterday I lost top set on Q84 w/a str8 blocker to bottom two and bare gutter all in on flop, i lost AQ to QT all in on QXX flop, T on turn gg, another guy made a sick call and hit a 7 outer 1 time in PLO for a nice 15%er, and i played a few hands of live yesterday at a local card room, check called a jam for 100bb in 1/3 w/AK vs AhQx on KJ4hh9, river T, he was 27% IIRC, so those are the ones I remember off the top of my head, not going so well atm, but I'm getting my money in good a ton of the time and don't feel like I'm playing bad, so hopefully it turns around.


Again this will be a non live TR, posts made daily/weekly I guess, will be obv chit chatting about other random stuff like I always do, hopefully this crushes my last couple TRs =) thx for reading

Oya haven't told or mentioned anything to roomie about the above, dunno what to do tbh, I would hate to mess up their relationship, they're both awesome, also would hate to be wrong (although seems unlikely to me), it's more likely she would deny and say she was just flirty, although there is a chance she might be I guess lol.

CURRENT DOWNSWING PROBS


I feel like my recent results are not reflecting my skill level in the games I am currently playing, I'm getting my money in really good a huge chunk of the time and it seems that 80/20s are like coinflips in my shoes, it feels horrible. I put in a pretty lengthy session just now 4 tabling 1/2 PLO/NLH on bovada and it just seems rigged against me. There was only 1 pot where I put in 100+bb in bad that I recall, and it wasn't that regretful of a decision. I somehow only lost 100$ during my session, but after I type these hands you'll see that variance is kicking me in the face.

I'm going to post a few types of hands for a "hands of the day" section:

Hands that I played poorly
Hands that I played questionably
Hands that I got sucked out on (my obv fav)
+Hands I went full FPS mode (maybe, I don't have any yet and try to stay away from FPS as much as possible lol, but in the event I play some hand super weird because I think at the time it made sense but in reality is just a FPS itch, I'll post it)

Hand #1: 1/2 PLO (all my tables are 6 handed fwiw) utg opens , hes playing 73/34 over a 70+ hand sample, 150bb I have him covered and have been 3betting him a lot, I'm to his direct left and 3b, it folds around to a relatively new player at the table who cold 4s from the sb, he's playing about 90bb so when it folds around to me I just 4b get it in not knowing the player...

I'm actually 22.83% to win vs his 17.78%, he hits two pair gg

Hand #2: I call a CO open on the B w/AKss87, the SB comes along as well, CO is playing about 100bb I cover and SB is playing about 45bb 6T9r gin flop, CO cbets I flat to not bloat a pot in a spot where I could possibly be freerolled, SB jams and CO just flats, so I know I'm good and just jam, CO has 6TJQ (21%), SB has 9JQK w/backdoor clubs (20.27%), they're both 20% to chop me, I'm 38.7% and lose to both players as the river is a K.

Hand #3: CO, an aggressive 48/32 over a short 63 hand sample opens, hes playing about 140bb and I flat B w/AQ3dddJ, he cbets a 6Tdd4 flop and I raise, he calls, sexy K on turn and he checks I pot and he calls, a 6 comes on the river (standard brick for me) which I only hated b/c I had AQdd so he couldn't have the NFD, but he checks and I decided to jam anyway, he calls and wins w/KJcc4T, mbn lol

Hand #4: The fish who opened in hand #1 isolates a limper from the B, I 3b w/ KJdd2K, he'd played a couple hands in 3b pots w/me kinda passive so I felt good keeping the initiative in this spot, limper folds he calls and we see a 238dxx flop, I cbet he calls and I see an awful 4, I check and am happy to see him check, river is about the worst card in the deck, an A, I decide to check fold and check, he checks and shows AQQ9 to scoop the 57bb pot with a 5 outer.

Hand #5: I open the B w/ATdd7Khh, SB 3bs playing 100bb, I call, complete gin Q9ddJ flop, he checks I fire about 3/5 pot trying to find the perfect size for him to get curious or spazz, he calls, he checks a brick 5 turn and I fire about 1/3 of his stack, it works as he jams w/K8ccQJ (10%), I praise baby jesus call see the good news, and see it taken away from me as a Q river rolls off and ****s me outta another $400.

There were a few more, but they were about 100bb pots or smaller so I decided not to include them.

Took a break from my session to type this out and chill. Other than running like **** in the beloved card games I've been doing pretty well, getting over being sick (although have the slightest cough), a buddy of mine came over to check out my pool, we spent a couple hours or so cleaning it and it's looking better already (my current roommates are slobish and aren't very keen on keeping up with cleaning, they want me to pitch in on a maid to clean up their mess when i clean up after myself lol). Can't wait to have ladies in the pool and chill (will post pics later). Working out is going good too, killing myself everyday so far, and plan on keeping it up.

Was playing a low limit HU when this hand came up, it's an interesting one so i thought i'd share:

I open B (3x) w/38dd villain calls (we've only played a few hands), QKdd5 he checks I bet he calls, turn is a 6 I fire again he calls, he leads 5d river, if I shove it's like a 2.5-3x raise IIRC, I jammed cuz I have flush he calls takes it down w/56o.

I've put in a fair amount of volume since I got over being sick, I stepped down to 100plo/nlh during my downswing to not bust my online roll (funny I'm actually back where I started as of now though). PLO is a very sick game, I love the hell out of it though due to the nature and how soft the average players are (although NLH is still $$$$), I would find myself amassing a ton of BBs on a certain table, and do something like lose a big flip, it feels like playing a mtt, you work so hard and it could all just go away so fast lol. I remember starting up a sesh and within the first few hands I set over set someone (no redraw IIRC) and they hit quads lol.



This hand here sucked B isolated MP IIRC, I decided to play my speculative hand from the BB with my discount, knowing I would have to get away from a good amount of boards I hit, and I flop the nuts, I like to play these spots really passive being deep due to the free roll factor, I checked, MP checked in flow, B cbet I called, and MP raised, B calls and I opted to call, MP wasn't as deep as B was (he had about 100bb while B had 215ish), amazing turn card, I checked, MP jams and B just flats, I'm fist pump jamming knowing I'm creating a huge side pot that I'm going to be a huge favorite in, so I jammed, he ends up calling and 58%ish to win vs both players, and 75% to win the side, river was 3c =( lol.



Lost with this sexy hand all in on the flop, when I ran the numbers and saw I was 56% I was pretty happy about it though.



It's hands like these that make me sick to my stomach, I opened cbet this board and got CR, on a dry board vs a player with non spewy stats I would opt to fold a ton, but with the flush draw out I decided to see another card, amazing card, he continues, I beat all J's, river is good, only hand that beats me now that wasn't before is KJ, he jams, I'm iffy, but really didn't think I could fold, nice hand mister boat with perfect run out to get my $$ lol.

I also dabbled and played a low limit HU sesh to mix it up, with some hu plo mixed in, ran AA into Q3ss after 3betting pre and bet bet jamming a QQ238 run out with a flush draw missing. Don't recall anything that notable from the PLO side.

After swinging that hard in not too long of a play period, I decided to be smart and lay out some options on the table before I had to start giving hand jobs on street corners if I ran any worse.

A few options I ended up with:

Do a promotion at a local cardroom where I'd get $15 an hour (18 after 8pm) as a pay for play type thing, I was doing this for about 2 months before the series and made a good amount of money, including an hourly that surpassed $20hr, which I expected to increase due to knowing the players and learning their tendencies (I went through some fun swings during that period, nothing absolutely stunning but big for me), as the player pool for that room is very small. I like the people and the area of the room also, although it's about a 45 min drive from where I currently am.

I could prop at another room, where I know plenty of the people there and earn $20/hr + win rate w/benefits, the games I would play in wouldn't be as good as the room mentioned above, but variance would be lower due to the structures (I would however be employed and be pulled from good games and put in not so great games lol).

Another option, which I've decided to take up (still might play live part time though), is being staked for online games, I completely regret pulling 13k+ off of true poker and demolishing my online roll after my downswing in January, but I gotta move on lol. Giving up half of my profits sucks, but not having to deal with swings currently is very stress relieving. Plus there's multiple other benefits like networking/being in the loop of things etc.



So aside from poker, life has been solid, working out a good amount to be in shape, the pool is cleaned and looking great, had a small group of friends over on sat night to drink play beer pong and sing songs, was a fun time. Don't really plan on doing too much partying during the week, have turned down a few invites to go out, trying to limit the fun and get motivated to grind, that way it'll make the partying that much better. We'll see how it goes =)

I had a very long day today, tried out the new site, played a few hands on pokerhost/bovada, and played 4 hours of live, super happy with myself and the way I played both online and live today, there was one weird live hand I will post, interesting scenario, will do a write up tomorrow when I wake up and work out.

SEP 3rd

Fun day, I started off testing out pokerhost while playing a few bovada tables, didn't play too many hands (bovada 100 and pokerhost 170), booking a 50+ bb win on bovada, and losing about 100bb on pokerhost. there were only a couple key hands since the session was so short:

1/2 plo bovada: utg opens (3.5bb), utg+2/B/sb calls and I squeeze in the BB w/AKddK9, it folds around to the B who is only playing 58bb, flop is T2ss3, perfect, the money goes in (I think I just jammed) and he had J5ssQ4dd, could be better/worse lol, I end up losing (think he hit flush) gg.

1/2 pokerhost:



(was playing a 6 max table and a HU game): It folds around to the sb who could be a reg, he opens and I 3b the bb, he 4bs me and I call, he pots the flop I obv get it in and lose.

I scheduled myself at a local cardroom to come in and make $15 an hour in a 1/3 nlh 50-500 buy in game, with an option to play 4+ hours, I went there and variance didn't like me one bit lol, here are the notables:

I open AQo somewhere in MP and get a caller in sb (I think it was HU, if it wasn't another player folded flop), gin QQ6dd, he checks I bet he calls, turn is a J, he checks again I fire and he snap jams, it surprises me but I take about three seconds and call, he has Q8o, three J outs to chop and three 8 outs to scoop, J river, it didn't really phase me as I've been getting kicked in the teeth lately, plus I was in a good mood and joking with the guy earlier, he says "well I got lucky there!" as we chop the pot, not only that, but there's a high hand bonus of $100 that he qualified for (and I didn't b/c of my $15/hr, we would've split otherwise) that he won for that hand as well lol. RUN GOOD! I joked with him about the hand when I realized he won the high hand as well.

This was not that long after the first hand: I opened QQ in EP get 3/4 callers, and the BB (who is a pretty nice spot at the table) squeezes kinda big, given how he's been playing I'm not thinking about folding but thinking about how to get the money in, I end up jamming, it folds around to him and he thinks for a few seconds stares at me and calls, someone at the table announces "queens to kings!" I laugh at him and as the A55 flop peels I'm asking him if that hit him, he says no and I'm loving life, T turn blank river he flips TT and scoops.

After those two hands and despite the fact that I was stuck most of the session afterward, I came back and was in the black at the end of the night, and as my last orbit was approaching I played this hand:

Opened KQo to $10 somewhere in EP, got a 4 callers total and cbet $35 on a K93r flop, only the B calls (a buddy of mine, I would say he's a pretty solid player overall, he does a couple weird things once in a while, and knows I'm capable of barreling/repping and other things and thus he's called me down semi light in a couple of spots where I've put pressure and really polarized myself, knowing I don't always have it), turn is another 9, I fire $70, he calls, the pot is $260 total as a Q rolls off, I beat AK now but he never has it as he would 3b it pre, he could have K9 suited but I think he would've raised the flop not wanting a overcard to the 9 hitting and playing guessing games vs me, and possibly trying to level me at the same time, I lose to random 9s (I don't really know how often he calls me with a 9 when I fire into 4 players being the PFR tho) QQ/33, I beat all K combos. I think for a while and end up firing $110 as a value/blocker bet, folding to a raise obv, as I didn't want to check and let him pick a size and put me in a really tough spot, he tanks for a while, looks like he doesn't know what to do, he doesn't look happy and tosses in a call, I flip my hand and he flips over 33.

I orbit out next hand as I was ending my session anyway, say bye to everyone booking a $150 loser, but getting $60 for my 4 hour session so really getting stuck about $90 overall, standard.

Tonight's results online are reversed so far, winning on pokerhost and losing on bovada. Could only get 1 1/2plo table going on pokerhost, on bovada I can usually always find a game, I played the only 1/2 game they had, which was 3 handed, ended up being HU after a while, beat my opponent to book a small 65bb winner. Bovada I ran pretty bad:



I squeezed here and the SPR on the 3 way flop was easily less than 1.5, I checked other player checked and B jammed and I called.



I also squeezed here in the BB (was less likely to do it but in this spot SB was mega whale and not folding), Sb open jams flop for a tiny bet, I raise to my normal cbet size (was like $60 or so about half pot) B calls, so I'm expecting to see a lot of QKxx/AJxx/89xx/maybe QQxx, I check turn planning on calling it off getting 3/1 but not the happiest about it, he does jam I call he wins gg.

Lost about 3 buyins on bovada, although the games were great.

Hey dude, in no way shape or form is my post trolling or trying to make fun of the situation (disclaimer cuz we always joke around), but -

How are you dealing with this downswing, and on another note, how the hell are you losing so much? Even in your other thread, seems like all we read about our losses, and this current blog is also filled you losing.

At some point it's no longer variance and you have to factor play into it. I know PLO is a high speed ride on a variance train, but damn dude, this is incredible. Hope it turns for you soon.

I don't feel I should explain myself with this b/c it's fairly obvious, but....

I love ranting about losses, so you hear about those a lot more than my wins (although if I get super lucky I tend to post, but you don't hear much of that do ya lol). I've had a winning summer by far. I think I only lost at that one 25/50 plo sesh (but making more than enough for it with my other two 10/20/40 plo sessions), beating all other games, and lossing at MTTs (small sample played like what 7ish?), but I had deep runs and chopped that nightly, only early bust out was the 1500 plo IIRC.

As far as how I'm on my current downswing? Read the hands again buddy, I'm def more honest about my posts/play than a lot of people.

Also I have not been playing a ton, I'm just now starting to put in volume (although there was one week where I played a ton online and killed it, check late summer thread, made like 25+ buyins playing all day that week) which equals results, and afterwards I started playing my best game and ran bad.

Right now I'm putting in a 1k+ hand sesh, which I haven't done in super long.
I plan on putting many more in. Plo is a sick game, the more I play it the more I realize how gross the swings can be.

I'm constantly re-evaluating my play, b/c no one wants me to do better than me (actually going over hands in the sessions looking for mistakes in big pots now).
