I ended up checking all the entrances and couldnít find this. Iím guessing they removed it. That being said thereís s tomorrow of places offering this in Vegas.

Sorry about the lack of updates. I've been working on my writing project for the last few days and I'm about 3/4 of the way done. I want to try to keep the post count down so I can post the project for my 7k.

Re: Suitedjustice's Ongoing Mid-life Crisis

A few weeks ago I badly twisted my ankle and my landlord found me a set of crutches at a charity store for $10. I'm just a bit taller than 6' 1" (186 cm) so I asked him to try to find me a tallish version.

He did, only they were extremely adjustable and I didn't realize it--or i only halfway realized it--I adjusted the crutches for my long arms but not for my long legs.

Within a few days I had recovered well enough that I didn't need the crutches any more, but still I found use for one of the set as a noise reduction damper on my wayward flapping plastic blinds.

Only after staring at the crutch for long enough did I realize that they were pre-set at the shortest possible length adjustment for my legs, and now I feel that I've cheated myself by making myself get around for those few days on short crutches, when it was obvious that I could have adjusted them correctly and crutched around in far greater comfort.

A few weeks ago was the only time that I'd been on crutches in my life, and the funny thing is that now I feel that I've missed out.

It's his first 3 books in one volume: Carrie, Salem's Lot and The Shining.

I'm on a summer break. I haven't had one of those since middle school. I worked summers in high school, and in college, and in adulthood. I think that maybe I've always wanted to take a summer off and see what it's like.

I'll be back soon, though, as I prefer not to be homeless and scrounging on the street.

King might agree with you. He's never had any pretensions of being a literary writer. He just writes stories that a lot of people enjoy. His CV has a few forgettable stinkers like From a Buick 8 and Rose Madder, along with a few classics like The Stand and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption that may still be around a hundred years from now, if people are still around and have a recognizable civilization. IMO the bulk of his stuff is decent fare, and his characters seem to have a real life to them.

Speaking of popular polarizing storytellers, I saw the new Tarantino movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, yesterday. It was as good as any of his best stuff. I'll put it up there with Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds along with two that he wrote but didn't direct that I love, True Romance and Natural Born Killers.

Margot Robbie playing Sharon Tate in a white miniskirt and gogo boots was a revelation.

Spoiler:

Brad Pitt and Leo DiCaprio were as good or even better than anyone could expect them to be, and they conjured up as classic of a duo as Newman and Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Overall it was a beautiful love letter to Hollywood and to the <spoiler alert>
Spoiler:
late 60's in general. GJ Quentin.

Re: Suitedjustice's Ongoing Mid-life Crisis

Yeah SJ if you want to eat need to hit the felt. Maybe a part time job would be good for some guaranteed money and could get you out of the house when you donít feel like grinding. Maybe get a job at Spinettiís or something.

If my Big Mac analogy sounds like something Stephen King would say itís because itís a almost direct quote from him, good writers love self deprecation. Remember reading that like 20 years ago. Different Seasons is the only book Iíve read of his as Iím not a horror guy. Shawshank and The Body (Stand By Me) I agree should be considered classics. Just saw there going to make movie next year based on The Breathing Method? The idea that four out of four novellas will be made into movies is just crazy.

Re: Suitedjustice's Ongoing Mid-life Crisis

Yeah, some Steven King books are awesome. My personal favorites are The Stand, It, and The Gunslinger series, especially book four which is a beautiful story in my opinion.

My grandmother bought me It for my 11th birthday I think and being so young I identified with the characters and felt like I was part of their adventure. This happened with the others too, but reading It at that age and feeling like I was part of it was amazing for me at the time.

My all time favorite books are War and Peace and Atlas Shrugged, but some of King's works still rate pretty high for me even though he's not really considered a "literature" writer.
