Stealing chips with the intention of adding them to a stack in a future tournament Stealing chips with the intention of adding them to a stack in a future tournament

I was reading a thread here on 2+2: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/61...dvice-1588400/ about a home game and a player stealing chips with the intention of adding them to his stack in a future tournament. Cheating really takes the enjoyment out of the game and makes it even more difficult to beat.

I will be playing in this year's Colossus tournament. I was thinking: What is preventing a player from pocketing a high valued chip(s) from one flight and take it to another flight; thus giving themselves an advantage.

I've been researching this subject and can only find one instances where a player was caught doing this (Chan Pelton) and he was severely punished. The eye in the sky caught him.

I've read a couple articles regarding this issue and the solution for preventing this from happening seemed too difficult to implement. The solution was for players to keep count of other players chip stacks. It's not like you can follow another player to a newly assigned table. I would think if a player was going to cheat, it would be between tables. With some crafty players slight of hand, I think it would be extremely difficult for a camera to pick this out. (Although my above example the camera did catch him, but I think the infraction took place at the final table).

I am hoping with the ability to place mico-chips within the chip, it will somehow detect if a player leaves the tournament room with chips.

Does anyone have ideas on how the poker community can prevent such infractions of a player stealing chips with the intent of using them in a future game?

Looks like a topic for one of our poker subforums. Not seeing the fit as a blog.
