It puts all the disparate devices in one housing...pretty cool.
Is it easily portable?

My oldest would dig it, but the wife would catch a brain aneurysm from it.

My tv is only 60". It's a Sharp Aquos. I love it.

The media thingy is pretty small, like the size of an external hard drive. The deal with toting it around is: it has to be plugged into tv, it needs a network connection(wifi or ethernet), and the thing that you are streaming from has to allow access to the device. So, if it's a different computer or whatever, you'll need to set up the pc to allow it, which isn't hard, but still.

Went to Top Golf last night with Daisy and friends.

I don't play golf, but this was fun. It's like a driving range and target shooting. I crushed anything sub-100 yards. Anything further and it was ugly.

For many years I freelanced as a demo guy at broadcast equipment trade shows. I would demonstrate editing systems and video switchers/effects units. One of the first ever plasma displays was mounted on the back wall of the booth next to mine. It was one of only two working prototypes that existed in the world. The 2nd was somewhere in Europe.

We are at the Las Vegas Convention center. The convention closes and everyone starts packing up. They open up this massive freight door near our booth and a big gust of wind blows through, blowing over the wall of this booth and smashing the plasma.

Dont think I ever seen a booth full of suits so misty eyed.

Difference between Apple tv and chromecast is that you can't play your own media files that you download.
