There won't be anything fancy about this blog. I will just post my picks every week and maybe a brief explanation for each one.

I am actually new to sports betting. I will be doing this on a recreational basis. My reasoning is I like to gamble and I would like to get back into sports. I was huge into sports growing up but that kind of faded as I got older.

My wife and I are also likely moving to Vegas in the next three to four years and if all goes to plan, we will have lots of discretionary income for me to gamble with. So I will definitely bet sports out there.

I just have money in Carbon at the moment. I put it on there to play poker, but didn't really get much out of it. I have $197.27 in my account.

I bet $30 to win $27.27 (or something like that) on the Bears +1.5 last night. Bankroll management for the win, but I don't really plan to practice strict bankroll requirements since I am just doing this for fun and can always reload if I enjoy it.

I may put some money on more sites to line shop if I get into this.

There are two games that I am watching the line with interest right now.

The first is Memphis-Ole Miss. I know both of these teams well. Right now, the line is at 19.5. I think that is just about right. While Memphis looked good on the road at UCLA, I think we can all agree that they are overrated. Ole Miss has looked really good all season, but hasn't played anyone. If the line moves one way or the other, I will probably bet it.

The second is Jacksonville against San Diego. The line is currently at 13.5. Everyone seems to think that Jax will get blown out, but there is a chance that they do well with the new QB factor. I am waiting to see if Bortles will be named the starter.

I went ahead and locked in San Diego -13.5 over Jacksonville. I know that sort of conflicts with what I said earlier about Bortles starting, but I still like the bet.

I will probably bet on the NFL game tomorrow night, but I am not sure which side I am going with yet. I will probably take Washington -3.5. I think Kirk Cousins is a really good fit for that offense.

I may bet some of the baseball games tonight, but I don't really know that much about baseball anymore. So we will see.

EDIT: I decided to bet one baseball game today. I took the ML on the Tigers with Verlander on the mound. I bet $10 with a chance to win $9.17.

I didn't realize Verlander had an ERA near 5. Oh well, he got the job done and I won that bet. I think the Tigers may be the darkhorse to win the World Series. I may bet that depending on what the odds are.

I made one more MLB bet for the day. The ML on the Cubs-Cardinals was even for the Cubs. I am actually a Cardinals fan, so I know a lot about them. I think Lackey's arm is dead and its going to be hard to make back to back quality starts. Jake Arrieta has also pitched well against the Cards in the past.

I bet $10 to win $10.
