two story red building. offices on the ground floor, long term rentals up top.
that was probably 15+ years ago so my memory is rightfully fuzzy.
12-22-2020 , 09:57 PM
yea you oregon guys always seem to get fuzzy memory when you get older for some strange reason, dude

the air around here seems to be filled with more smoke than in big sky country

i think we are finally getting to the point we can get over the virus for most and get back to poker and other things we like to do.
the outside things will come easiest and most are happening now anyway.

due to the close contact poker will take more time to get back to where it was and it will.

floodingin tillamook oregon. thats hiway 101

more and more places are opening up with and without mask wearing. and with the new strains it will be tough to contain the virus at all. if it spreads too much then more shutdowns will come especially with the new regime in.
01-16-2021 , 08:41 PM
we are on the edge of it getting better or worse right now. if enough get vaccinated and wait the two weeks before going nuts we might win this.
01-18-2021 , 05:16 PM
im not sure when ill start playing poker again but after i get the shot and pass the waiting period of a few weeks or the second shot if i need that, then i might consider.
till then poker will take a back seat for me. plus it isnt fun under all the restrictions.

picked up another harley today. its an older softtail. of course super shape. real loud pipes which i dont usually use as i like to hear as well.
ive been riding bikes for 50 years so a little familiar with them. buy always learning.
i am not a real fast rider so thats good.
i always get a windshield as ive been hit at hiway speeds enough times by grasshoppers and things to know what that feels like.
01-24-2021 , 02:27 AM
How many Harley bikes do you have? And where do you store them all?
01-24-2021 , 03:09 PM
ive cut down to just two right now. and they go in my garages.
and ive sold a bunch of boats and down to seven counting a few kayaks.
02-03-2021 , 01:25 AM
with the new strains its going to be very risky to play live in any casino now. some of the ones are very lax about players sliding their masks down and saying they are drinking their coffee and leaving them down. or saying they are eating.
02-03-2021 , 01:31 AM
there are too many rocks and gravel on the roads in montana for me to have a motorcycle there anymore. i used to ride a lot but the drivers are now real bad texting and swerving around along with going through red lights. and thats a killer.
02-14-2021 , 01:03 AM
the cold wave is hitting so much of the country this winter. lots of snow and ice.
its amazing to me at all the giant pileups. dont they know when its icy the speed limit doesnt apply unless you like to hang out at the body shop. you just crawl along at the speed that keeps you going straight no matter how long it takes to get home.
02-14-2021 , 01:05 AM
i went and checked out my great game that i play in that i havent been to since the virus started. not that i planned on playing but just to see what was going on. it turns out the whole crew hasnt been back and no game since about when i stopped after the virus threat was real.
not sure if it will be back . some of the players, at least the pros have moved to another spot.

They haven't said on the news here or any of the national channels that the pile up in Fort Worth was in the new express lanes. So, the speed limit was 75 and there are no shoulders at all. Just 2 lanes with concrete barriers to either side. I live in Fort Worth, about 10 miles from the scene and we had zero ice on any roads at my house. No precip whatsoever. I think they must have had like one little cloud put some water on the road there. The Trinity River is right by the scene so maybe it was some kind of fog from the river freezing on the road. There wasn't some kind of winter event going on though. Not to say that they weren't driving unsafely, obviously they were, but it's not like they were just saying **** the ice.

any time the roadway is elevated above the ground ice forms quickly below 32 degrees as there isnt the grounds warmth to slow it. if its 32 you must be real careful going over any bridges.

I was in it earlier that morning. It was pretty bad, but not the entire length of the highway was a sheet of ice.

Y'all can't drive down there under normal conditions

I live in Houston and it’s somewhat funny how this town shuts down every time it gets below freezing and there’s any chance of precipitation.

I understand the roads aren’t designed for snow and ice and that there’s no salt or sand and certainly couldn’t plow these roads even if the city actually had plows. That being said people lose there minds as if a major hurricane is coming. No bottled water at the store and plenty other stuff not on shelves.

Anyplace up north and it’s a normal mid fall, late spring day.
02-14-2021 , 11:27 PM
up north most have cars that work well in snow and ice and tires to match. plus have experience and most arent in a big hurry when its icy as they know the consequences.

on my toyota i can jam on the brakes on an icy road and the car of course will keep skidding for awhile but will go in a straight line.

Down south, you'd go into a spin if there were a quarter inch of water on the roads. Tires get replaced when they go flat, not bald

That is so true. It was all I could do to make myself get new tires for my truck recently. 60k miles on the original factory tires. Looked like I could have gone for at least 5 more years on them. None of them were flat damn it, why would I want to get rid of them???
